What even was last year's prank supposed to be? It was all over the place. First they played a few seconds of Smiling Friends run through an AI, then a random episode of Space Ghost, a few of their infomercials, and finally train footage. It was like AS couldn't decide on a central theme.

It was, 3 preview episodes edited down.

The extended version of Fire Ant.

2 reruns of those parody infomercials.

        The premiere of Ambient Swim.

Believe me or believe me not.

It was thrown together at the last minute, they decided to stitch together the various ideas they had because their original plan for a prank was ruined. It was Justin Roiland as Rick & Morty vtubers playing games for like 2 hours and answering a live chat that would be on the adult swim site. Obliviously, this was scrapped once the man got fired.

The only 2 good April Fools jokes so far are the Toonami ones, everything else was shit aside from Space Ghost talking to Tommy Wiseau
even the old New Year's eve stunts had more charm like that time they played the entire Read Or Die OVA (the still haven't aired the TV series, they should since it has an official 1080p HD release)

The best one was the Toonami reboot a couple years ago. Let me look up the exact date

        >2012

        oh SHIT

Even the lineup of shows was great

The kid dub one was good, but the fact they only dubbed two shows and then repeated them kind of lessen the fun of it.

The Cinemaphile archives don't go past May 2012, but the Cinemaphile archives go back all the way to 2008 so you got their reactions here:

I would love an anime block that plays 90s stuff like Tenchi Universe, Outlaw Star and even some 70s shows, Gigantor was good

Wouldn’t last a month. Nobody wants to watch that old shit

or rather, plenty of people want to watch that programming block... for like two hours. Maybe there might be a certain percentage of viewership who would want to watch one single show, but in line with what you said, practically nobody would want to turn that on and just watch and watch it, which is what traditional broadcast television is for.

Nah, "muh viewership" excuse no longer works when Adult Swim goes from 5pm to 7am

instead of whatever the guide says, smiling friends comes on with a new episode. halfway through it's interrupted with a new episode of rick and morty, instead. halfway through that episode, the smiling friends characters shove the rick and morty viewport to the side so they can be on the screen again, but then rick portals in and they start arguing. the next hour is devoted to the crossover movie between the two

I really do hope it's not just Smiling Friends season 2. That'd be the first time adult swim spoils a prank otherwise.

You know how the format is 11 minutes/22 minutes of show with commercials sprinkled in?
reverse that shit and its 11 minutes/22 minutes of commercials and the first episode or two of the new smiling friends where the commercial spots were
