What even was last year's prank supposed to be? It was all over the place. First they played a few seconds of Smiling Friends run through an AI, then a random episode of Space Ghost, a few of their infomercials, and finally train footage. It was like AS couldn't decide on a central theme.
It was thrown together at the last minute, they decided to stitch together the various ideas they had because their original plan for a prank was ruined. It was Justin Roiland as Rick & Morty vtubers playing games for like 2 hours and answering a live chat that would be on the adult swim site. Obliviously, this was scrapped once the man got fired.
The only 2 good April Fools jokes so far are the Toonami ones, everything else was shit aside from Space Ghost talking to Tommy Wiseau
even the old New Year's eve stunts had more charm like that time they played the entire Read Or Die OVA (the still haven't aired the TV series, they should since it has an official 1080p HD release)
The Cinemaphile archives don't go past May 2012, but the Cinemaphile archives go back all the way to 2008 so you got their reactions here:

neither of these have the "oh frick them, it's the room again. this is like the 4th year in a row, this is bullshit, it's not funny, it's . . . wait, wait WHAT? WHAT????" that's what i was looking for. i stayed up the whole night that night
there's this even older archive I just found only a couple days ago. all the images are busted, but these ARE the 2 live reaction threads

or rather, plenty of people want to watch that programming block... for like two hours. Maybe there might be a certain percentage of viewership who would want to watch one single show, but in line with what you said, practically nobody would want to turn that on and just watch and watch it, which is what traditional broadcast television is for.

Nah, "muh viewership" excuse no longer works when Adult Swim goes from 5pm to 7am
instead of whatever the guide says, smiling friends comes on with a new episode. halfway through it's interrupted with a new episode of rick and morty, instead. halfway through that episode, the smiling friends characters shove the rick and morty viewport to the side so they can be on the screen again, but then rick portals in and they start arguing. the next hour is devoted to the crossover movie between the two
You know how the format is 11 minutes/22 minutes of show with commercials sprinkled in?
reverse that shit and its 11 minutes/22 minutes of commercials and the first episode or two of the new smiling friends where the commercial spots were
insider here. it's smiling friends s2 ep 1 but spread out a few seconds at a time inbetween normal shows.
That would be hilariously stupid actually, I believe it
the heads of the Smiling Friends cast are plastered over the heads of other characters and is redubbed to fit the head
It's gonna be a surprise full s2 drop.
Debut of Hellbenders.
Last one was awful
Cinemaphiles last one was awful too

It was, 3 preview episodes edited down.
The extended version of Fire Ant.
2 reruns of those parody infomercials.
The premiere of Ambient Swim.

Believe me or believe me not.

They could’ve gotten Zach and Cosack to basically do an on air Oney Plays
Idk, have fart sound effects for all of their shows? Haha so funny.

Agreed
The premiere one was good too because premieres.
The last good Cinemaphile ones were the princess wars and crossboards
?si=24HdEnavwB_zpuQa
Even the lineup of shows was great
The kid dub one was good, but the fact they only dubbed two shows and then repeated them kind of lessen the fun of it.
all their shows are broadcasted upside down, that's it
Fox's Swim
Disappointing.
dan schneider should do the voiceovers for all the characters on ATHF
Steamboat Willie on repeat for 8 hours
They could play Screwy Squirrel on loop for hours again
The best one was the Toonami reboot a couple years ago. Let me look up the exact date
>2012
oh SHIT
Anyone have an archive of that thread?

>Probably not Toonami
>It'll go away again
The wrongest men in history
Toonami cancellation
Sunday Nights now Toonami Classic, and only play anime from before the 2000s
get ready for GIGANTOR
I would love an anime block that plays 90s stuff like Tenchi Universe, Outlaw Star and even some 70s shows, Gigantor was good
Wouldn’t last a month. Nobody wants to watch that old shit

Yea because it airs fox shit 90% of the time which people do tune in for.
>says smiling friends will return
>they just replay the first season
They already said it’s going to be Smiling Friends. Nu-AS doesn’t do pranks like they would when Lazzo was in charge
Hope it's something good.

I really do hope it's not just Smiling Friends season 2. That'd be the first time adult swim spoils a prank otherwise.
