Adventure Time. Steven Universe is baby's first Evangelion occasionally intercut with Ranma for some reason. It could have been better as either or, but at least it tried something new. Although, why would you try to deconstruct a show that only came out a few years before?
Adventure Time, by contrast, made the formula. It's responsible for the lore-based show with obnoxious yelling hipster children entrusted with a plot that goes nowhere and tries to resolve their personal issues instead of turning them into art. It's the reason shows in America have ended up as either too much style and zero substance, or constant quips in the most obnoxious psuedo-ironic mode imaginable.
Adventure Time, but not because of its style, gays would say that it started the calarts style when it was really Flapjack. Adventure Time changed cartoons by changing the formula of shows, making them starting from episodic to story driven in a few seasons. Steven Universe damaged cartoons by popularizing fictional lesbians
And Flapjack rose from the ashes of Billy & Mandy and while Alex Hirsch worked on Flapjack, he would go to Disney to work on Fish Hooks for Maxwell Atoms from B&M who told him to pitch a show which birthed Gravity Falls which became the template for seemingly every Disney cartoon since.
So Maxwell Atoms's hateful fart cartoon did the most damage.
Now what did the most good: 2 Stupid Dogs or Space Ghost Coast 2 Coast?
>Steven Universe damaged cartoons by popularizing fictional lesbians
that was korra
Adventure Time was an aesthetic of the 2010s but I don't really see it's influence anymore. What is even the hot cartoon anymore? Isn't Disney XD the Big City Greens channel like CN is Gumball and Nick is SpongeBob? What seemed to influence them the most?
Neither really, most modern netwotk cartoons are bland and inoffensive slice of life comedy shows that always attempt to subvert any sort of conflict for feel good messages. Adventure Time and Steven Universe were at least ambitious and experimental at times, newer shows like Craig of the Creek or Molly McGee are nothing like them. So I blame the networks.
>making them starting from episodic to story driven in a few seasons
The irony is that AT never stopped being episodic, really. People just latched hard onto the more dramatic story arcs like Simon/Marcy, or the Lich. If you actually go back and look over the episodes during this period, the vast majority of eps were shit like Jake makes a sandwich or Tree Trunks gets married. This did change towards the end with the miniseries.

Cinemaphile only really consumes and talks about lore shows they also claim to hate, wishing we could go back to the days of goofy episodic comedies even though those are still the norm but they just don't find those kinds of shows interesting enough to talk about (go fricking figure). So since all the cartoons being discussed here are loreshit cartoons, that's all people really become familiar with and go out of their way to watch so they believe that tween girl focused disney cartoons are the default.
Why are you talking about irrelevant and shitty shows that don't deserve to have their own threads OP? We should be talking how Gumball saved cartoon network in the 2010's as well in the 2020's since the movie and s7 will be dropping soon and no both of them aren't canned
>Adventure Time, Regular show, or Steven Universe >Which cartoon caused the most damage to the cartoon industry?
Fify, OP Regular show is equally as damaging in the cartoon industry as those homosexual cartoons, Cartoons that have a formulaic formula within each ep and a insufferable love triangle arc could be traced back into Regular show what a shitty show
Steven Universe is just a girl's show for girls. Normal people can ignore it
Adventure Time is a fun adventure show that suddenly became DUDE LORE AND RELATIONSHIPS
Early AT was just from the same style of late 2000's cartoons like Flapjak, the lore shit only started in season 3 after Pen left the show.
I don't know the release dates for everything, but I hate this argument that "Adventure Time started the new era of cartoons" because it just isn't true.
Penn left the show in the middle of season five, a while after they introduced and started exploring the lore stuff. He actually encouraged it because they were running out of ideas for fun wacky adventures by season four.
I will say that it was adventure time. It was the one that started the "goofy cartoon literally made for children can be mature and for adults" trend. And because of that reason, I'll forever hate AT. Compare it to another mature show, regular show. Its impact was momentarily, with it's style being forgotten years later. Now every cartoon is either a low quality version of gumball (trying to be quirky and "different"), or like AT (imagine, Alice in wonderland, but she's a rad girl who has escathological and cute adventures)
>Now every cartoon is either a low quality version of gumball (trying to be quirky and "different"),
No cartoon is portraying Gumball at all considering Gumball has a mix media art style making it expensive to produce also nobody is copying Gumball's lore the Void so idk what are you talking about?

Wtf are you talking about?
mlp
Adventure time is the better show, but had a worse impact overall.

Cartoons went to shit long before either show came out.

You mean lesbians live rent free in conservatives' heads (and their search histories)

I wouldn't hate a show for starting a trend, 90% of the time trends are unintentional, hate the shows that try to copy AT
>don't hate a show for purposefully being cancer
>it's not their fault they managed to spread!
>purposefully being cancer
now you're just pulling shit out of your ass
The writers literally said they go out of their way to cuck Finn to teach boys they don't deserve a girlfriend
>The writers literally said
okay smart guy, show me where they said that
I am not fricking doing that
You win, I'm wrong. They never said anything of the sort.

Well, we don't have an adventure time spamming homosexual, bit we do have that peridot kid, so steven universe.
