It is amazing that a character that was straight for a hundred years must now be gay forever and ever because of SJWs looking for brownie points from X.

Makes me glad that America dying, hope China and Russia nuke them.

      >Alan can't say or do anything that isn't about being gay
      Cool cool cool

There is something troubling about how they're gonna have to retcon it so that Alan felt bad about all the persecution of gay people but not enough to do anything about it.

          >you see son I was just filled with so much self-loathing and was too much of a coward to ever really face you.
          >but don't you see, now that someone else did the job of securing the rights that I didn't have the courage to fight for I can finally come out of the closet.

Nah, nothing in comics is really permanent. This may last as long as a Superman costume change does before getting reset. Is Uncle Ben still dead or has he come back as a super-villain yet?

I know you posted this to bait. Because no one on Cinemaphile likes Alan, and really doesn't care about Alan now that he's a forced gay character. But hey, at least you and the other 10 people like it so good for you I guess. Everyone else is gonna read the old shit that was written better anyways so...

Can someone spoonfeed me the in universe reason why this dude is completely different from the other Green Lantern characters?

He's magic magic instead of science magic.

But how is he related to the other Green Lanterns?

Name only. It was just coincidence or Hal remembering history that the future ones started calling themselves lanterns as well.

Believe it also got explained later on that Alan could always recharge himself and just thought he had a wood weakness and shit time limit due to get clubbed in the head as part of origin story.

So the little blue aliens who made the green lanterns used to be badass elf knights way back in the beginning of the universe where magic way more rampant. The blue elves who like science didn't like how messy magic was so they fought a war against the vast cosmic empire of black magic. They kinda win the war when they bound up all the excess wild magic into a single dense object known as the starheart but because the starheart is magic it's actually an alive thing and plans a eon spanning escape where it ends up as a meteor on Earth fashioned into a lamp that chooses Alan as it's champion.

The in-universe explanation is going to be all convoluted and inconsistent because the real world publishing didn't intend for the characters to be related. When DC started the Hal Jordan Green Lantern, they had no intention of ever using Alan Scott. It was later, after that "Flash of Two Worlds" story that we got Earth-Two as a parallel dimension and later that was all changed it had only been one universe all along. I don't know what the hell the supposed history is supposed to be right now. It doesn't really matter because it'll change in a few years anyway.

I normally would be excited for a book featuring Alan, but considering how they are pushing him being gay despite nearly 100 years of his comics saying otherwise and how Tim Sheridan (Titans Academy was godawful) is the writer this is a fricking hard pass for me
