>Alien. >Aliens

>Alien
>Aliens

That's it. That's the only two good movies in a decades-long, highly acclaimed series. Just two movies that predate the 90s, then nothing.

Aliens is the better movie, by far. Alien is good but overrated.

              Alien 3 > Aliens > Alien
(I’d probably give them all a 9/10 tho)

This is a spicy take but A3 is the scariest and has the best supporting cast of characters. Yeah Bill Paxton meming around is great but I liked those British prisoners more TBQFHWYF.

People seem to forget too easily that Alien 3 has both Charles Dance and Charles S. Dutton in supporting roles, and they're fantastic. They give stereotypically Fincherian performances, super small, super restrained, super quiet (except when Dutton gets mad, which is also kino).

They are good, but the film overall is mediocre. It takes more than 2 supporting actors giving good performances to make a great movie.

I dunno. The funeral sequence alone is imo sufficiently kino to elevate the whole film. I won't argue that it's flawless; it's definitely got issues. But I say it's a good movie.

For me, it's Newt's autopsy scene.

It's one of the heaviest scenes in the series and Weaver sells it's her kid on that table.

                Best scenes in the franchise:
                >1. xeno being born during the eulogy in A3
                >2. remote turret hallway in Aliens
                >3. Ripley getting to the escape pod in the first one
                idk 3 > 2 > 1 adds up

You don't understand. The base on LV-426 (Hadley's Hope) was on partially terraformed moon. The base didn't have to be hermetic. That's the difference between Nostromo and Hadley's Hope.

Aliens is literally the worst Alien film. The alien is supposed to be scary, not a bug.

It's not bad, just different from Alien. Alien poses the question "What if unstoppable monster?" Aliens poses the question "What if easily stoppable monster but many?" Different takes on the same underlying concept.

        Anonymous

In alien, it was NEVER in any way unstoppable. The only reason they didn't easily kill it was because they were trying to be good employees and protect the ship so they could get their payment. Don't care about that part and they'd have killed it easily.

In Aliens, they are not 'easily stoppable' in any way. They trash the marines in every encounter and kill all of them.

I don't even care what he was gonna have David do. That was the least interesting thing about Prometheus and the most utterly stupid direction to take the story in. No one went to see Prometheus to see David. No one shares Ridley's obsession with gay androids angry at their creators. People wanted to see the Engineers and what neat things they'd do. Ridley dropped the ball hard on that one then just blamed the fans he tricked into watching his movie by slapping an 'Alien' label on it for no reason.

Fassbender's Curious George evil android is the only interesting part of these movies. (They suck.) William Shatner did a better job at making a "astronauts goes looking for God" sci-fi movie.

Most popular film series can only muster 2 good films.
    Terminator
    Halloween

    Nolan Batman

    and so on.

I have the ayylmao quadrilogy on blu ray and imo it's pretty extensive

all the movies come with their theatrical and director's cut versions (even resurrection has one lol - I think that was forced through the studio, but who cares, it's neat)
