the cast all seem to be infants so i don't know. is there going to be an adult in the plot or are am i to believe a bunch of dull eyed zoomers have multiple phds and can run a space station or whatever
I like how ridley thinks he can just insert random ideas, themes and names from roman mythology or biblical lore without it having anything to do with the actual plot in any clever or meaningful way. yeah alien covenant....that will sound good for my stupid alien prequel movie. didnt he already use the fricking romulus/remus mytheme for raised by wolves? you cant just keep pointlessly referencing the same myth to sound clever, ridley. it doesnt work that way. you gotta do something with old ideas and transmute them into a new setting like shelley did with frankenstein. what is this pretentious dogshit

Will it be kino?
gonna even be about? aliens raising humans? fricking stupid
Alien Space Camp sounds kino as a premise—so I know that won’t be this at all and will just be a half baked rehash starring odd looking permachildren as adults
Cold Forge was really good.
Out of the Shadows was interesting as its basically a sequel to the first movie set before aliens.
Currently reading Alien: Into Charybdis, its average (as of page 150), considering jumping into the Rage War trilogy next.
Most of the new novels are just average (but thats just me), but i just feel i have to read them cuz i dont have any other alien shit to watch.
I have read so many now ill just read all of them and be done with it.
Sometimes I get offended and sent the writer an angry PM on twitter.
Are the books just Space Marines VS Xenos or do they actually deal with existential themes like the first movie does? Not really interested in reading something similar to Cameron's Aliens.
Thanks for all the info by the way. Adding them to my reading list.
many of the new novels dont even have space marines in them, its like shit happens and they have to do what they have on hand.
Into Charybdis is the only one of the new novels i know where the colonial marines was actually notified and deployed.
But Aliens Phalanx has the ultimate defenses against xenomorphs, knights with steel lol
I wonder if that book has any connection to that scrapped Alien game that was essentially going to be a medieval Outlast clone involving a demon-worshiping cult, with the mid-game twist involving the "demon" actually being a subterranean xenomorph.
How do the aliens actually fair against full plate armor? I know their tail is strong enough to pierce steel of some thickness, but what about their claws or their secondary mouth? The acid is kind of a big issue for fighting them in melee but maybe a spear or a halberd could work if only for a few hits

the movies don't show it well but in the books/comics the xenomorphs skin is like sharpened steel and they're super strong
New rumour is that big chap(xeno from original film) is the main villain. Zoomers find him floating in space and take it aboard the ship, it aint dead. Yes, it takes places right after alien events.
>first Alien has space be vast and empty, takes years to get to LV-426 so crew have to be in hypersleep, no other ships anywhere nearby to help or hurt, Ripley spends 57 years in hypersleep since her escape pod is so small it is easily missed and drifts past all civilization. She is only lucky to be found by a deep space salvage ship >Disney: nah, we'll just have a space ship come by years later and accidentally find a tiny alien floating in the trillions of empty kilometers of space that's not emitting any signals nor heat which is inexplicably still alive because we need a movie. This is perfectly fine and preferred compared to the option of having them find another source of xeno eggs elsewhere
Wouldn't surprise me really. Disney had people staring up into the sky watching events unfold in real time from the other side of the galaxy in both star wars and star trek. They truly don't understand a thing about space and certainly don't think their audience is intelligent.
well lets use our big brains then.
the grappling hook ripley fired at the alien contained a small beacon that activates on impact.
most equipment contain emergency beacons like this to help locate crew that accidentally drift away from the ship during EVA tasks.
That gives the romulus crew something to investigate.
he drinks a lot and decides shit on the spot. Look at some of the prometheus bts. He wanders around with a glass of wine and tells screenwriters to change shit on the spot, "what if we did that", next day a new thing. Same thing on set
he makes slop in a very short period of time
he's incredibly old, probably has no attention span left.
If you put into perspective he's 5 years older than biden, it starts to make sense.
I've worked with a few 70+ bosses, one of them was pretty much a genius most of his life and it's literally impossible to stay on top of your mental acuity at that age. You start slipping, making mistakes, forget things, etc.
Ridley Scott hasn't made a good movie since Blade Runner. >b-b-b-but what and Gladiator?
since Blade Runner >b-b-but Kingdom of Reddit?
SINCE BLADE RUNNER
>full zoomer cast >completely retcons Prometheus
It's going to be another run-of-the-mill alien flick, but this time catering to the sensibilities of the tik-tok generation. Pass.
Alien >70s Horror
Aliens >80s Action
Alien 3 >90s "Indy" film
Alien Resurrection >Foreign Film
Alien vs. Predator >Popcorn film
Alien vs. Predator Requiem >Straight-to-tape shlock
Prometheus >Rebooting, Expanded Universe attempt
Alien Covenant >Fan Service win-back attempt
Alien Romulus >Streaming Content, not 'film', just banking on old popular IPs because no one, even the creator of the franchise, knows what they're doing anymore, so frick it all.
You're right on the money. >streaming content, not film
Holy frick that rings true
I had very mild hopes for Romulus but if it's set for "direct to streaming" then it's almost guaranteed garbage
>tfw it'll be set on Hadleys Hope >tfw it's all about the poor colonist kids of the station vs the kids of the crew >tfw it's gonna be a young teen movie >tfw 75 minutes of the 90 minutes runtime will be character interactions between rich and poor kids and how they're "not so different after all" >evil white male teen will die to the alien >good rich latino or black male will fall in love with the mixed race lightskinned "poor" girl >they will have so many nods to aliens and newt and tunnel games that you're gonna be sick >three survive and get off world one is very injured, neither the male or female love interests are >end scene has newt singing in a vent or some shit, more cuck nodding >probably take an alien with them in the injured person, so they can milk a sequel if it is a success (it wont be)
I cannot figure out how in the frick anybody is an Alien ''franchise fan'' after almost FIFTY FRICKING YEARS. Those two movies from before you were born sure were pretty good huh, guess this gets to be the only sci-fi horror series for the rest of time.
And how much lead is in Ridley Scott's blood for him to think anybody is interested in his "lore", that is moronic to begin with but also doesn't even follow its own canon. Did he get divorced or something, does he need money, why is he spending his last ten years on earth making this rancid dogshit.
Will probably be fun and watchable since the director worked on Dont Breathe and Evil Dead remake, but Kino? Nah. Normies showed they didnt want Kino Alien films by shitting on Prometheus and Alien Covenant so you get some tolerable slop instead.
I doubt it.
the cast all seem to be infants so i don't know. is there going to be an adult in the plot or are am i to believe a bunch of dull eyed zoomers have multiple phds and can run a space station or whatever
Zoomers are entering their mid twenties.
No need to seethe because you wasted your life.
THEY'RE TOO PRETTY!
The youngest person on the international space station was 35.
From one zoomer to another: shut the frick up, you projecting passive aggressive b***h.
I wish I had an alien mommy
is that official art?
holy garbage
how hard is it to make it about Aliens having infested another colony or anything like that.
Pseudo intellectual onions garbage
>is that official art?
yes
It’s fan made, the only real picture of the movie is this
> dark facehugger
shit inbound

Why dont you just stick to the yearly MCU movie? That may be more your speed, champ.
Covenant and prometheus were hot garbage
Ew brainlets, please dont talk to me.
covenant was beyond moronic and that anon was 100 percent right
it's going to be shit like all the other ones

Spaeny mogs Moner.
I hope Moner isn't the first one to die
>this actress who's basically a frick doll is going to be in an alien movie
Stop complaining.
My ex could have looked like that if she wasn't such a hungry fat frick
I hear you man
She was just trying make up for the lack of satisfaction.
More like Alien Cumulus
or Alien Ramulus
Alien: Resurrection of the nu-movies
>Not a chance.
i got so angry with alien: covenant i started reading the novels instead.
the dark horse comics were good until they started doing promotheus
Which novels are worth reading?

i just want a yautja home world with an alien out-break film. Is this too much to ask?
New rumour is that big chap(xeno from original film) is the main villain. Zoomers find him floating in space and take it aboard the ship, it aint dead. Yes, it takes places right after alien events.
that contradicts the end of the original that strongly implied it was nearing the end of it's lifespan when ripley killed it
Well, Disney
Also, ridley proabbly likes the idea
I don't remember anything in the film implying that.
>first Alien has space be vast and empty, takes years to get to LV-426 so crew have to be in hypersleep, no other ships anywhere nearby to help or hurt, Ripley spends 57 years in hypersleep since her escape pod is so small it is easily missed and drifts past all civilization. HOLUP
Is Disney making alien movies?
They own the rights. It's a whole new division of Disney called Disney: Hard R.
They make all the non kids stuff, like Alien and Blacked.
Yep, Disney bought up Fox and acquired the Alien franchise
Well tbh there was a huge explosion. Doesn't make the idea any better though and I have no faith in this movie, whatever the plot.
well lets use our big brains then.

>big chap
>homosexual brackets
>ain't
have a nice day shill tourist.
what exactly is ridleys problem? Napoleon, the last duel, covenent, prometheus and so on. Ever since the mid 2000s hes just making senseless slop
senility unironically
he drinks a lot and decides shit on the spot. Look at some of the prometheus bts. He wanders around with a glass of wine and tells screenwriters to change shit on the spot, "what if we did that", next day a new thing. Same thing on set

kek
The Counselor is 10/10.
its only due to cormac mcarthy's writing
Yeah

You'll still watch it.
>full zoomer cast
>completely retcons Prometheus
It's going to be another run-of-the-mill alien flick, but this time catering to the sensibilities of the tik-tok generation. Pass.
>Pass.
The Alien franchise sucks after 1 & 2
Why do they keep using these pretentious names for alien movies?
They got me anons.
I actually think it'll be different this time.
Ridley Scott said it's good and as a patrician that loved his prequels I trust him it will.
>turning alien into a shitty teen slasher film
no.
They might be more entertaining than Prometheus or Covenant
To be fair, that's not a hard bar to clear.
THERE ARE TWO GOOD ALIEN MOVIES
haha no
>Will it be kino?
Sadly, I have zero faith....
Breakdown the franchise and see the trends here.

frick the future
I have my hopes, my least favorite Alien anything was Covenant and still enjoyed it
I liked Alien Covenant
is it Aliens vs ancient romans? now that would be kino
I cannot figure out how in the frick anybody is an Alien ''franchise fan'' after almost FIFTY FRICKING YEARS. Those two movies from before you were born sure were pretty good huh, guess this gets to be the only sci-fi horror series for the rest of time.

Play the Alien RPG tabletop game. What it adds to the Alien mythos is more interesting than constantly rehashing Aliens.
if i keep my expectations at rock bottom i can only be happy i called it out half i was wrong
>tfw no xenomorph mommy
Moner and Cailee are in it, so Cinemaphile will love it
