>announcing a movie over a year before it comes out
>even has a trailer
what the frick are they doing for the whole year?
no idea, seems the Ridley Scott AI and Android focused next Alien Covenant film is this or not happening.
There is no trailer.
You're asking this question in what I'm not going to call a shill thread, but the answer is: shill
i am just bored so i made the thread, better than the pink hair girl threads.
OP literally posted a fan made trailer and just copypasted the IMDb description. Nobody's shilling this yet.
i did not even like prometheus or the covenant film. I am just bored. I too think the chance of making a good Alien film at this point is minimal if not fully absent.
Writing the most moronic Engineer lore you can imagine
I know about movies that are 5 years away mostly capeshit but still
And animated movies, they take a super long time to make
Are you dumb? It's a teaser trailer that they make with minor amounts of shots to hype you up over the year while they finish production and post-production. Movies take a while to make especially in post
as other anons have pointed out it's apparently fan made, i don't watch trailers. my point is why would you announce a movie when the movie isn't completed? a year is too long to 'hype' up. also i'm pretty sure they announced it last year anyways so what's the point of announcing something two years prior?
generating buzz anon
What trailer?
No trailer, just a fake fan made on
Moner sexo
>Evil Dead (2013) and Don't Breathe (2016)
did these suck?
Evil Dead was good. Didn’t see the other one.
Don't Breathe was interesting because the "villain" was so much more sympathetic and likeable than the heroes that it became a fun movie where you root for him, he even got to be the protagonist in the sequel. For reference the villain had kidnapped a woman, chained her up in his basement, and impregnated her via a turkey baster and the vast majority of audiences still preferred him to the "heroes" of the first film.
No they were actually pretty good. Still, I woulndn't say Álvarez is on the same level as Scott, Cameron, Fincher or Jeunet.
honestly, no current director is able to do alien justice, but it is what it is
I'd watch an Alien film by Villeneuve
>hulu
Is this going to be a movie, a series?
Will it be at the cinema m
Direct to streaming movie. There's also going to be a prequel series set on earth, but that isn't connected to this.
Actually they changed their minds, its coming to theaters now. Maybe because Prey was well liked.
Looks like a fan made trailer, what awful composition and lighting
Whether in 2023 or 2024 there's no way to make an original or exciting Alien movie. We've seen everything that could be considered properly shocking without veering into ludicrous territory like Alien: Covenant. Just move on.
>Looks like a fan made trailer
Because it very obviously is lmao
They need to let the series die or at least focus on another form of media like Alien video games
>papi can you come pick me up? some loser is taking photos again
The names are getting worse and worse
I wanted Blomkamp's movie instead
No you don't. His movies since D9 have been progressively worse and he keeps getting ejected from these 80 revival projects for a reason. The guy has simple interesting ideas but no idea how to flesh them out so all of his feature flicks have politics as a sub plot to pad out the runtime.
NTA, but I still kinda wanted it, if only because it would have been fun to see what direction they would have gone with retconing 3
Rectconning 3 would be the best decision in decades for this franchise. Then I'm sure Blomkamp's movie would leave it open for more sequels all set back shortly after Aliens
I love 3 but I honestly have to agree, the franchise has been bumbling around unsure of itself and desperate to win back the audiences favor ever since
Blomkamp was the one who managed to get Weaver on board, she REALLY wanted to do the film with him. Once that fell trough she has said she isn't interested in reprising the role anymore.
But he had nothing other than the concept art he posted. He didn't even have a backstory for the xenosuit Ripley picture or any of it. He's a hack ideaman when it comes to Hollywood he needs to stick to short films.
Possible. But point was the only reason Weaver even was willing to come back was because she really likes the guy. The studio should have gotten someone else to write the script with him instead of giving Scott another film.
Yeah well everyone really liked the guy after district 9 but it turned out to be lightning in a bottle. And I agree it would have been more interesting to see his film than Covenant no matter how it turned out.
100%
disappointing & shit
I just want likable characters who act reasonably rational
As long as Ridley Scott is not involved and it's not a crossover with Predator, then it will be kino af.
You like 3 and Resurrection?
I like 3. I don't like Resurrection because of Joss Whedon turning it into a capeshit quipfest.
Honestly I feel like Resurrection could have been good if it wasn't for the shit dialogue
Why not just make a direct sequel to Aliens? audiences are probably used to reboots like Terminator or capeshit.
Blomkamp tried a couple of years ago, had everyone on board, then Scott got in the way and told the studio it shouldn't happen
>Scott got in the way and told the studio it shouldn't happen
what an butthole
Really shot himself in the foot too. Fox told Scott to make his second film more mass appealing since they couldn't do the actual Alien film people were buzzing about. So now we have Covenant, which is neither a good Alien film nor a good sequel to Prometheus.
>Covenant, + Prometheus.
both those films are randomity, insanity and brain damage. With high production values.
Yes, but even people who liked Prometheus were unhappy with how Covenant turned out
all those millions, all that capacity all to give us 2 films that were utter crap. A waster of energy and of everything.
they just used the alien franchise and giger aesthetics to make 2 pieces of junk.
They could have done 2 films with some other space action with giger aesthetics with original scripts.
But no, they had to ruin alien even more.
I've read all the behind the scenes stuff and all of it just ends up being some ancient aliens mumbo jumbo about the enginers making Jesus or something. Lame
>ancient aliens mumbo jumbo about the enginers making Jesus or something.
this sucked colossally. Idiocies.
I can't understand why Scott thought this was a good idea
i doubt that he really did, probably financiers suggested these idiocies. The films are too stupid to be written and executed by supposedly sane and experienced film people.
I hope so man
they could have done instead of prometheus my arse and Dementia covenant 2 films with Rapace. Only her and no other star cast like all those idiots in the films. A fricking robot psycho, he was unbearable. And pretentious.
Infested large colonized planet.
She is a settler that gets captured and cocooned with other settlers in some planet with thousands of populace and several towns but manages to break free due to some factors and the 1st film would be her escaping the infested complex. 2nd film she tries to flee the planet. Pieces of trying to figure out what is going on in the 1st and the 2nd film. She would not go into war goddess mode like Weaver nor do anything like throw any xenomorphs out the airlock. Just other things.
they could not even think of this and develop the idea properly. Frick them.
Weaver has said she has retired from the role now. She REALLY honestly wanted to reprise the role with Blomkamp, she seems to really love working with him.
Bet the studio was kicking themselves afterwards for picking Scott to do Covenant instead.
That trailer looks aggressively awful and cheap. Combined with the release date being so far out, I assume the trailer is not actually indicative of the final film, and contains little (if any) final footage. His previous films were neither great nor horrible.
lowbudget goyslop...kino
For horror Alien is pretty costly
This clearly ain't it.
Looks like Unrealslop.
That trailer isn't official anon, it's fan made
We could've had Blomkino....
looks like a bunch of homosexual zoomers in the cast list
with obligatory lame black guy, he looks like an idiot they could not even choose a serious looking person, and Chinese girl for the Chinese market...
The Chinese market doesn't really exist much anymore, they have mostly abandoned Hollywood films with a few exceptions. Plus, horror films don't usualy get released there due to censorship.
The Asian girl doesn't seem to have been in anything at all before, I doubt she'd be a draw for the Chinese
Hopefully good
What time period is it set
Between Alien and Aliens
that Álvarez would be writing and directing the Untitled Alien film after pitching his own story, and was said to be "unconnected" to the previous films in the franchise, for a release on Hulu.[12]
I want the final part of the prequel trilogy. I am forever cucked, in my mind canon David eventually perfects the xeno turning into a queen, when he embraces her she pork’s him and chips him to shreds as a nod to Bishop, rather than dumb ducking humans I would rather it be a squad of engineers trying to stop David from reaching the home world, the last one surviving crashes onto the original alien ship, film ends with some philosophical ramblings by David how man should not play god with creations
I also want a finale to the David stuff, but anything that makes the space jockey not ancient is hard no for me
