does anyone even care? Are normies worried about their shows or has t.v just become background noise for phonegayging?

I care. Aliens was my favourite movie as a kid, and after Fargo, then Legion, Howley, with Disney's budget, could have made my favourite show ever. It could have also been shit, or now FX could be sold.

        Anonymous

I think Disney has put enough money into this that its likely to resume filming whenever the actors strike is over. Alien is one of the largest non-comic book franchise IPs they got when they bought Fox so they'd be dumb to not try to exploit it Imho

Frick off homosexual, Legion is so far above the quality of any other capeshit, especially marvel, that's its a whole different genre, capekino.

From what I can gather most normies miss their favorite show but aren't overly invested in anything new being put on hold, which makes sense I guess.
I find this case interesting because there was a lot of talk from the production that this specific show wouldn't be impacted by the strikes because it only had British actors, but now there is a sympathy strike from Britain I guess so the production got btfo

        >but now there is a sympathy strike from Britain
lol what is with the british? It's just like with blm they see shit happening in the US and then they feel left out so they start their own problems.

Generally its because people feel they need to help out, in terms of unions its a pretty common thing to sympathy strike

Why would the american executives care? If foreign competition shuts down that's good for them right?

Its bad press and American companies work with foreign ones a lot in todays market

So, no sympathy strike. And the cast has SAG actors. They were shooting around them.

This. Same for star wars. Its as if the people who made the originals never really understood why they caught the imagination so much.

        Anonymous

Star Wars is only special because it was the first of its kind. Its the most basic story of all time but with special effects and scale not seen in the sci-fi genre ever before. This is easy to see in terms of box office for the sequel trilogy, places that had nostalgia for the old films went and saw the new ones, countries where no such appreciation existed didn't care about the new films even after massive marketing from Disney.

The mythos worked tho, ancient mysteries, mudhuts and spaceships, jedi were a blend of kwai chang caine and the man with no name. Then it turns out theyre just hill street blues in space and got infected with force germs.

Films arent the result of the single vision of an individual, Scott and Lucas were not the single reasons those original movies turned out great. And even if they were, they're very different people than the ones they were when those films were made.

Just scrub the serial numbers off like Zack Spyder is doing with Star Wars. The continuing adventures of Ridley, Zoot, Nicks and Pope after the strange events on HT-537 fighting the deadly Xenoids.

Come on dude you know this will be pozzed. They don't like the fact Ripley was a 'strong' female character not by their insane standards and thus view the franchise throught this insane lens and will subvert it. It's all they know. They don't know about story or character. They are not writers. They are useful idiots, even the ones who make 'good' content. That's all they are. Look at the cast, nothing but FotM zoomer actors and the whole thing will be some gay zoomer angst shit with an alien popping up and then being defeated in a stunning and brave way.

The problem with alien was also its biggest strength: gigers design. The reveal of the alien lifecycle and its physical forms can really only be done once.

Cameron had the right idea for aliens, to bin the jump scare horror and go for survival action. Now you have space marines vs giger aliens, 2 things everyone agrees are fricking awesome. How the actual frick do you mess up sequels after that?

      >BUT MUH SLOW BURN AND LE ATMOSPHERE
These things, as you said, are done once and only once. Cameron had the right idea indeed and it was a roaring success and a classic. This other anon also had a great if risky idea: ditch the xenomorph and invent some other creature to be the 'alien' like an anthology of monsters. It's a risk but better than the current trajectory of the franchise.

    Progression should have been:

    >Alien: alien vs space truckers
    >Aliens: aliens vs space grunts who dont know what to expect
    >Aliens 2: aliens vs space SAS who do know what to expect

      Anonymous

That sounds terrible, why would you want to make the aliens seem defeatable, that ruins any horror

        Anonymous

Escalation. Theyre not up against a single alien or a nest, but a whole space station full or similar, and it turns out the aliens weve seen so far are their equivalent of explorers and colonists, now we get to see the soldiers.

          Anonymous

Escalation like that just makes it end up bloated eventually. Terrible road to go down. It worked with Aliens but that doesnt mean it would have been great to continue that as a trend.
