All these bait-and-switch flashforwards have me worried the actual series ending won't be satisfying in the least.

>watch post-roiland
>cry about it
they wrote this season while justin was still there. in fact season 8 and some of 9 were written while he was still there as well. also are you going to ignore that roiland was there for the series' worst episodes? (bawd dragons, sperm monsters, etc).
justin hasn't been in the writers room since season 2.
>he won't watch the best season of rick and morty because daddy roiland isn't there to make shitty burp sounds every 3 seconds
lol, lmao even
>season 7
>the best
rofl
roflcopter even
Rick and Morty was basically post-Roiland by Season 4. By Season 5, he was just a voice actor who did the occasional ad-libbing. These newest episodes were made the exact same away aside from some last-minute redubbing.
this. there was practically no burping or ad-libbing since the end of season 3.
Lol I’m imagining him recording this entire scene wondering wtf he was becoming a part of: https://youtu.be/zQ5gaykv1Bk
And Rick and Morty hasn’t been funny and good since season 3. Yes Roiland is a disgusting human being who’s guilty as frick, but at least he was funny. Dan Harmon is a disgusting pedo as well, and worst of all he isn’t funny or knows how to write a good show
Chevy Chase said it best Harmon isn’t a hack he’s just ok.
You can't lump every post-Season 3 episode under the same roof and call it all bad. Every season since has had its ups and downs. Also it wasn't just Roiland backing away that affected the show's once consistent quality. We lost pretty much ALL the original writers after Season 3. Dan Harmon's the only one left and he continued making the show with a whole new crew. That's why it'll never be the same as before.
Morty’s Mind Blowers was their swan song. The show became unrecognizable after that.
You are a fricking moron
>didn't whine like a gayget before he was kicked out for hitting women
Riiiiight
Roiland was barely there after episode 1 though
The best case scenario for a R&M ending is if they get cancelled unexpectedly after ending a season with a decent, regular non-story focussed episode.
If you're still watching just for major story developments you're fricking moronic. They've dealt with every major plotline (gromflomites, citadel of ricks, evil-morty, space-beth, Diane, Rick's origin story, Rick-Prime) and they regularly break the fourth wall to tell the audience how much they don't want to be forced to do big story stuff all the time, so if you force them into doing a massive finale its only going to disappoint you no matter what they do.
>gromflomites
True.
>citadel of ricks
Sad to see it go but true.
>evil-morty
Nope. He has the Omega Device now and can choose to erase literally anyone and anything he wants and if you don't think there's any chance that he won't find a reason to use it or someone won't else take it for themself, you're coping.
>Diane
True. Normally I would have said that they could have explored it in an afterlife episode but then that episode happened so I'm more sure than ever that her arc is wrapped up for good.
>space-beth
Nope. She's still getting up to space shenanigans and it can always open the door for new lore. Also, she's totally the real Beth.
>Rick's origin story
True.
>Rick-Prime
Nope. They're still going to explore how Rick is coping with wasting his life hunting him down.
They said they hate writing canon stories because it's hard and they can't pump out as many episodes. They're pretty much admitting they value quantity over quality and are too lazy to put in effort in the writer's room. Which is why you get the Ice. T episode instead of something that matters.
These are the people who hated Roiland for dicking around the office too much when they're the ones who want to do nothing but dick around. Hope they enjoy the declining viewership because canon is what keeps people coming back. There's a reason why shows do cliffhangers.
>the drop between s4e01 (death crystals) and s4e02 (toilet/dating app)
I didn't like the season 4 premiere either but that's crazy.
The frick happened during the Season 3 premiere!?
I think they dropped the first episode out of nowhere without promoting it first.
>The frick happened during the Season 3 premiere!?
It was a surprise April Fool's Day premiere. It played all night. People got hyped out of their minds.
You obviously weren't keeping up with Samurai Jack season 5
Season 7 premiered to 0.42 million viewers and the latest ep had 0.29 million
Is that on adult swim? I think most people are watching on netflix now
>so if you force them into doing a massive finale its only going to disappoint you no matter what they do.
It's really not my fault if they can't live up to my deliberately impossible and unreasonable expectations.
It's obvious that the show won't end with an obligatory timeskip at this point, and thank goodness for that.
this episode was actually really good
was it?
Yes.
Had a fun premise.
Yeah I liked it. Strong episode and a strong finale, way better than last season's.
Yes, because they treated us like actual adults so the twist wasn't nearly as obvious as it could've been. If every episode was around that quality people wouldn't clown on the show so hard.
We already saw the end. Rick becomes Christian and gets friends with the Veggietales to save the day.
It won't be.
We know, Dan. You'll be a genius for subverting our expectations yet again.
>Even nu-Simpsons takes a shit on Dan
Damn, Dan must be really insufferable if even that celebrity-worship show calls you out on your bullshit.
Holy shit you know it’s over when nu simps fricking destroys you
they're gonna give the audience exactly what they want
The audience wants the characters to age up à la Venture Bros, but the show has made it explicitly clear that will never ever happen. Dan Harmon wants his shitty sitcom sliding timeline and no one can stop him.
Will they finally stop making '80s references and get with the times already?
They do make contemporary references but the 80s was such a powerhouse in culture that it's inevitable that a sci-fi parody show like Rick and Morty will reference things from it constantly.
mid n dorky, family chad better
If you were expecting satisfaction from this show you were watching it wrong from the start.
Frick you harmon
That one was a really obvious bait flashforward tbf
Yes and I’m sick of it. They’ve done this like three times now. What other fanservice fakeouts can they do at this point? This show better be over by season 10.
The time skip was too happy and generic and they still have like 3 seasons left. It was an obvious fake out
>3 seasons left
That's what I'm hoping for. I respect this show enough to want an ending sooner rather than later. Rick has already opened himself up to the family and committed to sticking with these versions of each Smith. Rick Prime, the catalyst for all this, is defeated. Wrap it up!
I hate that stupid ass w mouth the characters do.
Did we ever get this in the end?
Nope. I was keeping an eye out for it. Maybe next season.
Weird. I thought they'd only recently started storyboarding Season 8. To have fully colored designs already means Roiland definitely recorded his lines for that season too.
I just finished the ep and wanted to say i thought it was really good
I don't enjoy much these days, with my standards autisticly high
But i thought that was a good story
Yeah it was a good’un
