The main problem with this is that the show opens up with Charlie already having this cast of characters as her pals, when instead the show should have started with just her, since as she was born "a demon" she technically hasn't done anything to properly deserve being in Hell, and Lucifer begrudgingly helping her due to him both being her father and him being a fallen angel himself, which would give him at least a small desire to help sinners reform and get to heaven while he cannot. He could partially be inspired by Sandman's Lucifer if they took this route.
Then over the course of the series they introduce characters like gay spider guy and show his likely deserving reason for being in Hell, and then you work your way up from the beginning where you slowly redeem him and send him off to Heaven at the end of the series/show.
The potential for this series to work is there but it feels like they're taking every wrong step with it so far.
They already died and experienced plenty of suffering. How long must they suffer? Its the crux of the show. Is infinite torture for finite crimes justifiable?
