I’ve seen some people try to use this scene for the episode trailer to justify that Jax may have a vulnerable side
I'm putting in the prediction that this scene is Jax pretending to have a vulnerable side to lower the candy guy's guard. Then just when it actually looks like Jax is about to drop something heavy, his demenaour shifts and he blasts the guy with a shotgun or something and laughs about it.
People will still use it as an example of Jax being incredibly vulnerable.
It's gonna be Jax drowning an npc and watching his last moments with a smile on his face, claiming it doesn't matter anyways since none of them are real people, just programs.

Agree with everything but the jokes. There were some good ones but the humor was nothing special overall.
What sucked was the writing. The dialogue didn't flow very well, there was a ton of awkward exposition, and the characters often behaved in ways that didn't make much sense.
But online fandoms don't give a shit about the writing, they just want something visually and thematically appealing and vague enough that thy can project their own headcanon into it. See Welcome Home for the strongest example of this; zero substance whatsoever but people liked the aesthetics so it exploded in popularity for a month or two.

Jax and Ragatha's dialogue was simply too long to flow naturally. For example:

But I'm looking forward to the new episode tonight, it hits different knowing the large fanbase has accrued since the pilot.

Murder Drones still has one episode left due for the summer, and then apart from the pilot for The Gaslight District, they'll probably devote the majority of their time to Digital Circus, meaning there's a chance the episodes will come out at twice the speed.
Some weren't expecting anything to come for another couple of years because they never knew Glitch makes their own shows, rather than pitching pilots to other studios.

Well, they also had to set things up in between episodes. TADC was a pilot, so it had to prove its worth before going into full production. I assume they greenlit rather quickly with the way it exploded, but from pilot to full series there's a whole process in production that needs to be done. That was probably the main thing that delayed the episode.

The pilot was nice but it felt more like Murder Drones than like any of Goose's other worx (and Murder Drones also feels different from Liam's other stuff that I've seen). If TADC turns out bad, I'm leaning towards blaming Glitch 100%.

8/10. Great episode, but definitely felt slower paced compared to the pilot, it did make up for it with the characters, and it's not entirely a bad thing either. The slower pace helped give it a different feel, and Gummigoo was a good guy who we will miss very dearly. I can now see why we were warned of the violent shipping wars. Because Gummigoo and Pomni are indestructible.
Also, I feel that we should be worried about Caine being at risk for being unable to tell the difference between NPCs and actual humans.

Still good, but the episode was certainly carried by the world building more than the adventure itself. I know that might be the point, but my opinion on the series as a whole is going to depend a lot on how they handle these episode-to-episode ventures. If it was more basic here to account for it being early on, I can overlook it. If this is the norm, it wasn't entertaining enough to really make me love where this show would be going. It was obvious the croc guy was going to get reset, but I'm glad they committed to the obvious instead of actually creating some bigger ensemble out of the blue.
It seems very obvious that if we see any of the main cast die in some fashion, it's going to be Ragatha and Jax. The latter's backstory definitely seems more intriguing now, so I would call that the best sticking point here.

The main reason I would feel Ragatha and Jax make the most sense is that they clearly stick out on opposite extremes. Ragatha seems the most obvious just from that one ending shot of her reaching out to Pomni. In the case of Jax, he's the character who we have the most to learn about as the show progresses. I can see several directions that end in tragedy for him, and I'm not even sure if he'll have a real redemption arc.
I'm 50/50 between this or only some of them escaping. Both have their pros and cons.

I liked the realization Pomni seemed to have while she was talking to Gummigoo - when he asked her what she got from trying to cheer him up, it seemed like she had a moment of realization that this was exactly what Ragatha was trying to do from the start of the episode, was trying to help Pomni feel better and now that she's spent a moment in her shoes Pomni is much nicer to her and more receptive of her attempts in the final part of the episode than she was at the beginning.

I think Gangle is the npc since Caine can just blow up NPCs at will (and presumably can't do that to humans? though he fixes Ragatha in episode 1 so I dunno). Both of Gangles personalities seem 'submissive' (either happily going along with stuff or being depressed and going along with it) which means nobody will call her out or draw attention to her, and she's got the type of personality of an NPC that some human character would probably want to drag back and protect
she also has like, no real interactions with the rest of the cast. Jax abuses her specifically and he likes abusing NPCs, and her behavior being modulated by her mask (or however it works) seems like video game logic and not how people actually act. Also her body is probably the weirdest in the cast apart from Zooble.

I have two issues with this show:
- sometimes those film shots feels wrong, out of place, no balance, they feel empty (unless that's the point)

- I mean. 3d animation is glorious, art design and such is great, so is voice acting. But the whole plot structure feels unsettling. I mean Ed, Edd 'n' Eddy with limited cast felt better with plot, but this fails badly.

I just finished watching this and I am baffled by how nice it was. There was surprisingly far less jokes than I thought there would be and it was more chill with the focus on dialogue, though you could dock it some points for being more 'boring' in hindsight; I still appreciated the overall atmosphere and the thoughtful moments. I'm glad it took itself seriously and the music really heightened it the parts with the gummy gator and Pomni stuck under the map was good stuff

It wasn't until the funeral where Pomni saw the others actually allow themselves to feel genuine grief over someone they lost that she seemed to feel a real sense of connection with anyone.
