Fallout is so goofy and open-ended in tone it's fine if they take a few liberties as long as they get the basic strokes right. Elder Scrolls is more the Bethesda series that has to autistically serve all the lore and everything.

It's actually the opposite. Fallout is world with a set series of historical events, and the whackiness only really took centre stage with Bethesda's involvement, whereas the lore of The Elder Scrolls by its very nature changes per game. Unreliable narration is a huge part of the series, and retcons at a cosmic scale are a regular part of the Canon.
In fact, I'd say that the ONLY way to adapt TES properly would be to make up some bullshit that emphasises the themes and motifs of the series without technically needing to be factually true within what we've seen so far. The perfect TES series would be M'aiq The Liar meeting travellers on the road and telling them some stories that blend fact and fiction in such a way that it doesn't matter whether he's telling the truth.
The TES series will bridge Skyrim and the Next game and be about a non-conventionally attractive Redguard woman leading a diverse resistance against the Aldmeri Dominion.
It will receive middling reviews from critics, get review bombed by fans, and give youtube channels like The Quartering a solid 3 months of nonstop ragebait.
They will go ahead with a second season, but the viewership will be so low it gets canceled midway through.

No they didn't. This is the kind of thing morons say when they don't like adaptations. A lot of them don't understand the concept of an adaptation. They think that when you adapt something, you're supposed to make some kind of carbon copy. When in reality, most good adaptations take the source material, strip it for parts and keywords, and write a new script using them. That's how it has always been done. Screenplays go through a shitload of iterations. On very rare occasions an existing screenplay is reworked, but even then it gets handed to a bunch of writers who retool it. A typical movie can have had 10-20 people stick their oar in. You will write a movie, and maybe two pages of what you wrote will be in the final draft. That's just moviemaking. And mid-shooting they'll bring in some hotshot writer to punch up the dialogue. And maybe they're unhappy with the movie so they'll bring in another director to ghost direct some action scenes and more dialogue rewrites. They show the movie to test audiences. They don't like it. So they go back to the drawing board and more reshoots and more rewrites and so on.
The movie World War Z started out as a direct adaptation of the novel, but along the way they realized what a stupid idea this was and began to systematically replace the novel. Then mid-shooting they wasted tens of millions of dollars on a completely different third act they didn't use.
The Halo show went through hundreds of iterations before shooting ever started. The whole reason the show took so long to get made is because MS aliened filmmakers for 2 decades with their meddling and "muh videogame lore" nonsense. The District 9 guy walked off the Halo project because he couldn't handle the "muh source material" bullshit. He was there to make HIS version of Halo. Not some piece of videogame tie-in material.

Arguably. A lot of that is just that it's a RPG. You can, at any point, choose to end a conversation and just massacre entire town if you want. That's not so easy in a tv show unless the main character.

I would love to see them make a good Fallout tv show. The potential is there since the general gameplay structure of Fallout (Go to town, talk to people, solve their issues or make it worse for short term profit) leads itself very naturally to a episodic television show. You could make a pretty straightforward adaption of any given Fallout game and not have to chance much, with a original story having near endless potential. I don't expect that though because most adaptations are cynically produced work for hire products and even if they somehow get a competent work for hire writer (Assuming those are even a thing anymore) the chance of even a relatively shallow and simplistic take on the source material surviving the editing process long enough to make to screen seems unlikely.

If they really wanted to do a good Fallout series, it would follow regular characters from one of the major factions or a town, and Sole Survivor would be a recurring character in each episode. The show would be an anthology style focusing on different characters arc each season, with Sole Survivor becoming more and more common in the show.

Despite some goofy stuff and atompunk aesthetics, Fallout is actually a really dark settings with cannibalism, rape, slavery, horrible mutated abominations and everything. I wonder what the tone of this series will be since it could go from "generic Mad Max ripoff" to full on horror. My bet is on the first one.

I hope the main character acts like I try to play Fallout insofar he talks and sneaks his way through most situations. I get that not everybody plays the games that way, but it's hard to really make it feel like Fallout if you don't get the sense the main character is Special and uses skills to resolve situations.
