oh yeah, I forgot that in the post below. Very little crime, especially serious crime, and not a lot of noticeable poverty, although I didn't spend much time in "lower class" areas.
It's pretty based. Lived in Mass for 10 years, lots of educated people, high standard of living, almost everyone's white, outside Boston (never been to Springfield, friends had bad things to say about it), very nice summer and fall, some great nature, lots of people are more "serious" less laidback if that's your thing, easier to find high-quality goods and food/alcohol/etc. than in less developed regions.
But the winters are long, sometimes the snow comes up to your chest. Higher cost of living then some places (but that comes with being in a nicer place to live), girls are less friendly than in the South or California, IME, fireworks are illegal in MA (LOL), dunno what else.
Overall, I should have stayed there, might move back to NE sometime.

>Massachusetts in a pinko shithole run by tyrants. Very pretty landscapes, especially out west. Worcester is better than Boston, in terms of culture, food, and nightlife. Taxes are dogshit. >Rhode Island is just small Massachusetts, but dirtier, and the people are rude and talk weird. >Maine is pretty, but kinda sparse and boring outside of the "cities". Cute broads from Eastern Europe work at the Old Orchard Beach fairground. >Connecticut is there. >New Hampshire is the gold standard to which all states should be held to; Yeah, property taxes are on the higher side, but the basically unrestricted firearms, gorgeous scenery, lack of sales and income taxes, hiking trails, and ability to actually buy menthols and fireworks make it a fantastic place to live.
Half of the state is Providence, which ranges from pretty nice and walkable and clean to industrial sprawl and rundown shitholes. The portions that ring Narragansett Bay and the coast are generally pretty nice, range from mansion dotted hidden enclaves for reclusive millionaires to comfy, clean suburbs. Inland is all state managed lands and golf courses with the occasional classic New England village - they are kinda hard to describe if you aren't from the area but every New England state has them, small towns with this rural/suburban hybrid vibe. Small family farms, really hilly, lots of creeks and bands of forests, almost always a well maintained, clean town square with an old school New England style Protestant church and the town post office/town hall/maybe a school. A bit too tidy, wealthy, and orderly to feel like the rural communities you encounter as you go West.
I knew nothing about the state before I started working there but it's pretty nice once you get outside of Providence. What really sucks is that New England politics have become increasingly nationalized, the local party brands and policies used to be a lot more unique to the region and not obsessed with shrieking over current thing driving clicks online.
It's not poor people who are bad. It's fricking bums. Bums only thrive around people with money. It fuels them with bitterness. Poor folk want for little as long as they have what they need.
Because over here on the west coast fat people don’t go to certain beaches cause you gotta climb down cliffs, and instead of mucky green salt water we have kelp forests which are some of the prettiest underwater environments.

All the trash made its way onto land in the west coast.
funny cause im a born and bred PNWester and have seen all of it but im fascinated by appalachia and southern swamp regions, ill probably try and retire in the PNW but for the next 20 or so years of my life my goal is to move out east and enjoy both the people, towns, and nature. Right now im picking between upstate new york and virginia, id go Lousianna if not for the crime rate and illegal weed
East coast spring and summer is the proper way to experience those seasons imo. Like summer camp movies just feel like they should be set on the east coast.
I’ve always wanted to do a road trip in the Northeast, when’s the best time to visit and should I just stick with Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont?
I guess that's the blessing of being ESL, I can't distinguish any of your accents except the Italian-American accent, the southern hick accent and the gay Californian accent.
there was an attempt/10 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2QgfOHS_Frs
The two original Pet Sematary films had great Maine accents.
fricking bahnstan
i'm wicked facking smart
I'm gonna science the shit out of this
how do you like dem apples harvey?
I talk like this.
you talk like this too?
I do say those things, yes.
Oh, and that's uh Ted Kennedy riding a dolphin through Chappaquiddick.
Explaining even the smallest of the dumb shit Menino did must've been exhausting for his staff.
ionic
can't get there from here
Ted and Mystic River are the only ones with half-convincing portrayals. Departed, the Town, etc. all suck.
Mystic River sucked.
>muh foyafloys
You’re nuts it was good. The accents/townsfolk were at least.
Tim Robbins was doing a meowth impression the whole movie. And Sean Penn was even more goofy.
Redpill me on New England
It would be economically-useless without the steam-engine and Southern cotton.
the south was economically useless without anyone to manufacture the raw cotton into anything
Almost entirely white with an unbelievably low crime rate compared to the rest of the country. Make of that what you will.
>white
>incredibly liberal almost everywhere
>but not about guns, yay guns
>and not too big on cities
The bugs are the only thing protecting them from the rest of the world.
It used to be the winters, but lately we get like 20% of the snow we used to when I was a kid. Shit sucks.

Sounds comfy. Place has a cool history.

Weird. I always imagined Rhode Island being a very clean upscale place.
Yeah, Newport.

English tend to way overemphasize the nasal inflection in any of it. Irish and Australian are intonated enough that it hides much better.
>block your path in Appalachian sci-gogglin
I grew up here & you city slickers have no idea.
lovely video southern people really are the best
They are. Even the poorest shitholes there are full of decent people. Remember next time some lib says poverty = crime to take up for nog behavior.

I’m just your normal California native doing a totally normal accent
No part of this country east of the Rocky Mountains holds any appeal to me.
New England is pretty nice, but yeah. Natural beauty in the United States starts with Colorado westward. The east coast is pretty samey looking.
Pic related
>east coast

Yes
>only 6,684 feet

I think Oregon might be the most beautiful state in the US

This is every east coast beach for like 800 miles.
In California the scenery and weather change every few miles.
East coast sucks ass
Why would you want to be in a smelly, windy place like a beach?
You can’t go in the ocean without going through the beach
Why would you want to be in smelly green salt water next to a bunch of other people who have their jelly rolls hanging out?
Because over here on the west coast fat people don’t go to certain beaches cause you gotta climb down cliffs, and instead of mucky green salt water we have kelp forests which are some of the prettiest underwater environments.

the human body doesnt scare me, its only when people try to bastardize it (troonys, piercings, tattoos) does it begin to disgust me
Nothing is more Reddit than hating the beach.
