I don’t understand how people watch this shit with the perspective gimmick. I watched the first episode and thought oh maybe this nauseating cringe camera shit is only the first episode but apparently they still do it seasons later. How does anyone like this? Imagine any other movie or show in le first person perspective. It feels like a ride at Disney World not a situational comedy. Brit trash, even worse than le funny walks
from what i recall they kind of move away from the gimmick as the series movies along. like it's less noticeable at least
It's to emphasize the cringe by making you a direct observer, which also makes all other people more imposing on screen which plays into the theme of the comedy.

It really makes no sense to try to make an American version of Peep Show, the premise isn't what makes the show great its the characters. The office has a better premise than Peep Show its like making a British version of Seinfeld what's the point. The premise of Peep show is that wow we have 2 characters and we see both there perspectives. The rest of the show is them just living life. Why not just rip off the premise and call it something different maybe that wouldn't be such a shitty pilot if I wasn't comparing it to Peep show the entire time.
You’re being pretty reductive. There are two huge “premises” that would be identifiable as something you could rip off as a “Peep Show style”:
>two loser roommates living together that are extremely different (Odd Couple type thing)
>a large part of the writing and comedy comes from hearing the internal monologues of the two main characters as they interact
The second one is huge, Peep Show is the only show that does that specific thing and it’s extremely unique and well executed
They should make Jeremy an intellectual neet that makes very good synth music and can never get a gf; mark should be a dumb normal guy with an office job constantly bringing women home. Same body types as the original show.
