here's a little anecdote from my weekend to make you even more depressed. I was driving through northern Michigan for the first time last weekend and I stopped at a gas station because my wife had to pee. inside the gas station, they had a wall full of every gun you can imagine and a display full of all sorts of different pistols. I chatted with the man behind the counter a bit while I waited for my wife, and he let me hold a couple of the guns just for fun. it really made me appreciate being American. I could have walked out of there with any gun I wanted, meanwhile in other countries you probably can't even hold a gun
