If you're gonna watch anime you might as well watch the 90s Moomin show, which is technically an anime. I believe Hilda had some inspirations from the books, and the 90s show is probably one of the better adaptations at around 70 episodes. The english dub is also alright.

I didn't watch season 4 to 5 at all myself, but I picked it back up in 6 onwards. If you have maybe a vague interest I'd just wait to see if any threads come up. Usually a link to the new stuff is posted. There are quite a few new episodes coming this week actually, including today.
Personally, I'm the kind that insists on watching every episode of a show so I wouldn't be skipping anything, but for people who are cool with that the list could be useful. I'll probably watch a few episodes of the first season and see how that feels.

I dunno, even going back to the old-school Disney Afternoon cartoons in the late 80s-mid 90s, they never lasted long. Chip N' Dale went 3 seasons, Talespin went 1, Darkwing Duck went 3, Goof Troop went 2, etc. Only Ducktales went longer than usual with 4 seasons and even a movie. It's just not Disney's style to stretch shows out, which is a mixed blessing.

I feel like a lot of people were put off by SR's artstyle, especially the main cast (most notably the woman that people still to this day think is a dude, since she looks like a dude).
From what I've heard, it was the story that was putting people off. It was too slow paced. Everyone got too used to fast paced action/jokes all the time type shows.
The slow pacing is the least of it's problems, the story and characters all suck mad dick and only pseuds think otherwise.
