Everything about this was wrong.
Who fricking thought explaining how goddamn "toon physics " works, was a good idea? The whole point of slapstick is that they DO get hurt, it's just the nature of Looney Tunes is that it's all used for a gag.
It was just so painfully unfunny, and animation is just so lifeless and stale, all the attempts at visual humor just aren't doing it. This is everything Animaniacs reboot did, but somehow worse

I cannot take anyone’s opinion seriously if they say the 2020s worst cartoon that openly hated everything involved was better then another cartoon
animaniacs 2020 WAS bad, but despite most of it's flaws it was decent enough to be able to watch somewhat, it even had good animation studios backing it like Titmouse. Tiny Toons Looniversity is not only terribly written but it just visually doesn't look good at all. It's a step down from something that was already a step down.
Animaniacs 2020 is by no means a good show, it's not even okay most of the time, but at least it understood what it was supposed to be, even if it horribly misguided and bitter
This was painfully dull and unfunny, failing at even the basics of slapstick and physical humor, let along setup, subversion, or just plain clever writing.
Say what you will about the original Tiny Toons, I sure have, but it tried its hardest to make a contemporary Looney Tunes series, complete with all the jokes and innuendos that would've been humerous for the adults watching at the time.
I feel like I just wasted 20 minutes of my life I can never get back watching this

The original show already did this a fair amount. In fact, it’s kinda baked into the premise. It’s a meta show about cartoon characters learning how to be cartoon characters. They kinda have to pretend that there’s some kind of science or system behind it, or else the students will have nothing to learn.
Tiny Toons wasn’t even the first thing to do this bit. The old 40s shorts would have some meta humor too, and so did stuff like Who Framed Roger Rabbit. It’s an old idea that’s already been working just fine for decades.

The classic Looney Tunes had meta humor, but they would never go out and explain the jokes. The only time I recall them doing that was in an extremely talky Chuck Jones cartoon from the 1980s.

The original Tiny Toons actually explained how a toon gag works (you can stand on air and never fall as long you don't look down) and later the lone gag became a plot point when Buster's gang need to cross a huge chasm and everyone just march in looking up while Buster begs everyone to please, please, PLEASE never look down until they are done crossing or everyone will fall to their doom.

Great animation
Funny drawings
Love the colors
Art style is kinda boring but definitely not bad
Voice acting is very good but so many characters are miscast
Writing is really the best we can hope for all things considered
7/10 it's good, people will forget it ever existed a week after it stops airing

It's not bad, those are just proper credits. The old show, and really, cartoons as a whole, now and back then, didn't were awful at crediting their overseas production staff. I saw someone on Twitter post a clip from some '90s Disney cartoon and a Japanese animator started complaining in the replies that US cartoons would get lazy and say "Animation Production: TMS, Toei, etc." instead of listing the staff's actual roles and names.

In the original Tiny Toons yes, they went to classes where the Looney Tunes were their teachers and yes, from the first episode they break the fourth wall and they know they are toon stars.

The original series was incredibly inconsistent about its framework. Sometimes Acme Acres was treated as a physical place, sometimes it was just a location animator's whipped up. Sometimes the characters were friends and their lives, histories and relationships were real, sometimes they were actors and everything in the show was scripted and filmed. Sometimes the show was about them learning to be cartoons, sometimes the show was about the show about them learning to be cartoons.
The series was what it needed to be for an episode/skit. That approach worked well for the classic, standalone Looney Tunes shorts, but it made Tiny Toons a bit of a mess, narratively.

Here's an idea for the TTL premiere.
For the first time in years, Bugs Bunny is coming to Acme Looniversity's campus to give a speech. Everyone's excited, even the teachers. This makes the students like Buster, Babs, Plucky, Hampton, Sweetie, Shirley, and Fifi work extra hard to do good by the university. End of Act 1.
The B-plot are other characters setting up for the big event, basically a gag reel. Near the end of the second act, Bugs Bunny arrives, everyone's elated. Bugs Bunny, never one to be inhibited or mince his words, gives an extremely bleak picture of the landscape for cartoons, especially wackier cartoons. The students are stunned and in disbelief. End of Act 2.
To wrap things up, Buster and Babs try to convince Bugs that there's hope and to reconsider what he said, and Bugs Bunny gives a more heartfelt speech. "Look... you two didn't ask to be drawn... but you're here now, and you can't get by on doing the same stuff that I did. Times change. I was trying to be nice with a message about working hard. You want the real truth? I have no idea what people are gonna go after. You guys will have to do what I did in 1940 - figure it out." Buster and friends come to take Bugs' tough message as a way to lift that weight off their shoulders of trying to follow in Bugs' or Daffy's footsteps, this is their time to try new things, but also respect the fundamentals. End of Act 3.
There. I think a message of an uncertain future would resonate with people, and how the most important thing is to work on yourself to have the tools to deal with anything that comes your way.
