I know it seems like anime/manga is massive in west due to loud vocal groups and yes I still watch/read it some times, but the average person has no idea what any of this stuff is, whereas the majority isn't going to find a grown man watching the Marvels as odd.

I don't want nor care for 'well-written female chars'. I was happy with them being love interest or side chars in sci-fi, fantasy, and action narratives.
I've tried too many times now over the years to get into shounen anime/manga, like to you the eternity, at first this seemed to be trying to go in a different direction, but just ended up falling back on the same fantasy fight stuff.
I am glad though they gave her a mature sounding voice though, which not only makes for a good contrast to her body type, given I don't find these sticc girls attractive for that girl-woman/baby voice thing.
