Just finished watching season 1 of One Punch Man, Saitama was the only good part of it. Genos was just an emo pretty boy who could barely keep track of his supposed one purpose in life, and the entire concept of the Hero Association, a bureaucracy of heroes mainly composed of lame amateurs, was done much better in The Venture Bros. Heard season 2 was worse so I probably won't even bother continuing. I think I read somewhere that dialogue in anime is drawn out to basically act as filler for the action, couple that with the translation barrier and cultural differences and I really can't get into it for the most part. Maybe a dubbed version would sound more coherent.

That one is good too. It was also released on BD within the past year or so and properly remastered for the first time ever which means you can actually watch it in HD and not in VHS quality anymore. I've yet see the new version though.

The finished anime is not suppose to have the same colors as the cels though. Back in the day when artists worked with cels, they noticed that when viewing the anime on the screen compared to the cel, the coloring was different which is why they purposely chose a particular color scheme when coloring that would show up differently when viewed on a screen. The finished product is how it's suppose to look. It's not just Japan. All animators faced these same issues.

no? It depends on who's putting it out. In most cases when it comes to older anime being released on a physical format, they typically preserve the original aspect ratio because that's how it's suppose to be viewed. The few times where this was majorly fricked up (in the modern era) was with Funimation in the mid-00's when they ruined Dragon Ball Z by releasing the show on DVD in a stretched 16:9 aspect ratio but since then, companies don't really do that any more because people b***hed about it.

I don't think it's debatable at all. People who make anime choose a specific color scheme and aesthetic and that should be preserved when released for home video. It doesn't make sense to alter the look of the original show because that's not what the artists want.

norgami might be one of the worst shows I've seen of the past 15 years. The comedy is painfully unfunny and cringe, the character designs are lazy, the overall art style is bland, the action sequences are weak and not memorable, the plot is uninteresting and uninspired, the main girl is completely useless and has the personality of a potato while the two main guys are feminine and lame as frick like most modern anime heroes. I hate that fricking show and I wasted my time watching it.

You might be the first person I've come across who didn't like Casshern Sins. I thought it was a reboot done right. I mean the original series wasn't exactly great and if anything was formulaic and a product of it's time. Sins on the other hand is a darker more in depth look at the complexity of isolation and the post-apocalyptic struggles of a society overrun by robots with the last of the human race dying off while being showcased in a aesthetically pleasing way. I'd argue it's one of the best shows of that era.
NTA and I'd have to do a rewatch for anything deeper than what you just described it with but the super melancholic tone, the animation, the music, all fantastic. No wonder Platinum Games stole so much from there.
The new design is not terrible but not great either, and it's the kind of reboot that fells like an alt timeline where you have to see the original to understand what's different because it doesn't stand on its own as a story.

They literally killed off the character who would stop Light just to replace him with a literal carbon copy of the same character who you never even saw prior until they randomly show up. That show is one of the biggest disappointments of any anime I've ever seen and left a bad taste in my mouth.

Old anime used 16mm film and the really expensive ones used 35mm film. The original product wasn't "vhs" quality". If it was, it would be difficult to make a HD remaster of these old anime. They are working with the actual film or copies of the film, not some second hand tapes aside from some few exceptions.

In the case of Angel cop, they scanned the original film negative, not VHS copies (unlike they're previous inferior release). The newest blu ray release is how the original creators intended you to view it with no limitations.

Why don't you just admit you like the more vibrant blue instead of creating this notion that the restored version of the film that is officially color corrected is somehow not the right version of the OVA. You can't sit there and convince anyone that the colors you see on an animation cel or on an old VHS tape is how the anime is suppose to look. If you watch the ORIGINAL film print of the OVA, her hair is grey in that scene and that was intentional. That's how they wanted people to see it when being viewed. It was the limitations of the VHS release that changed the color but it was never suppose to look that way.
