They've managed to translate the comic nerd mentality to movies. Why are there so many shit comic series? Fans don't really care, they just gotta have their Batman or whatever. Feige & Co. figured out how to make movie audiences think like that.

Marvel fricked up in the most crucial step which was passing on the torch to the next generation. I'm sorry but the New or Young avengers are not going to cut it, and as soon as Zaslav finds someone to be their Fiege in DC and starts producing quality JL content for the first time it's basically over for Marvel. Sorry but Miss Marvel can't compete. What they should have done is passed the torch to the X-men somehow so that there's at least a decent number of marketable characters everyone knows about and a major villain for them to look up to. They could have still kept Hulk, Spiderman, the Guardians, Wanda, Vision, Dr Strange, Bucky and Falcon in the MCU until they were each ready to pass on the torch themselves. For example, once spiderman gets too old for the role probably after milking 2 or 3 trilogies out of him and the Guardians retired they could have set up Nova to be the new fun and young adventurous hero in the MCU. Having some overlap so that the characters could interact like the cartoons I watched growing up is a good idea.
They have nothing because they dug themselves into a corner. They planned out for the infinity saga and didn't bother crafting the next saga. Having the next Thanos be someone like Mr Sinister, Apocalypse or even Magneto would have worked. Add on that Disney has been completely hijacked by leftist morons who pump their agenda in every film and show, and don't give a frick about the quality of the story. MCU doesn't look very good right now. Hopefully DC fixes up in the next 2 or 3 years.
Trust me I know it did. I watched Man of Steel in the cinemas when I was 12 and of course I liked it, I liked everything that had action. Watching it back was kind of a buzz kill since I realised it was shit and I was living off the nostalgia. What a waste of a good villain all for a dumb fight sequence at the end when they could have done something unique. Shazam was okay because it was supposed to be a dumb film but it was badly written too.
I liked Snyder initially because of the 300 film and I was dumb enough to think he was a good director. He wasn't. He single handedly set DC back a decade and practically gave marvel a monopoly on superhero films. DC lost but marvel is weak rn and there's an easy opportunity to make a comeback or even put marvel out of business. However, based on their history I highly doubt that.

You have the justice league, the Titans, the teen titans, young justice and even the Legion of Superheroes. Marvel has competing superhero groups that aren't united under one banner that has offshoots from the original like DC has with the justice league. So DC has the potential to make several decade long arcs within the same continuity if they wish.
