little boxes on the hillside
Wayward Pines, Copland, Arlington Road, Blue Velvet, The People Under the Stairs but comical, The Burbs but more comedy, American Beauty weird that Hollywood love this film so much and even more weird with stuff about Kevin Spacey coming out, Dirty Hary, Truman Show, Demolition Man, True Detective, Carrie, In Bruges, Desperate Housewives, The Virgin Suicides, Twin Peaks but the first two seasons are 'small town' ...Falling Down for the transition from Urban to going crazy while attempting to get home to the burbs, for Urban maybe Dredd, Taxi Driver, Seven, Robocop, Blade Runner, Death Wish
safe neighborhoods bad!
Of course it's safe, there's nothing to do and you can't even walk to the parallel street without going through the entire maze.
>Design a neighborhood where only the high IQ can navigate.
You're soooooo close to getting it.
It's the opposite, low IQ criminals would cut through private properties to travel to parallel streets. Law abiding cuckolds have to walk up and down each street to move parallel.
>in b4 I'll just drive
Driving to your neighbor's house literally 300 yards away from yours is not high IQ.
>phoneposting good!
>knock on neighbours door
>he shoots you
Traffic bottlenecks good!
20 minutes to go 4 miles to wally world very good!
HOAs good!
tiny commie shithole euro apartments with no ac good!
>Listening to my hot white neighbor wailing while getting fricked by a black man (because my walls are paper thin and my cardboard "house" is 10 feet away from hers) good!
Yeah, why would that be bad? She's my neighbor, not my wife.
I FRICKING LOVE STEPPING OVER HUMAN FECES AS I LEAVE MY EXPOSED BRICK APARTMENT TO GO TO THE HECKIN BARCADE!
Doesn’t happen in my city (downtown FTL). Cope
My office is closed for from Christmas to New Years so I got plenty of time to watch some kinos related to suburban sprawl
This has to be a zoomoid cope. I live in a suburb. I work from home. It's nice and quiet. I haven't seen a Black person in years. What's there not to like?
>bragging about being a weak little b***h who can't bear to feel uncomfortable for even a second
Theres literally nothing you could say that can convince anyone that living in a small apartment in a city is somehow a better life than living in a large house in a suburb. Communism failed, get over it.
If you have a family, sure. If you're single? You ever live alone in the suburbs? It's the death of your soul.
Every man should have a family. Go make one.
Women won't let me and I live in the suburbs so I never meet any that aren't married or single moms.
True Detective S2
>hellscapes
i wouldn't say it was hell by default. we don't know how many pitbulls live there or how much ethnic music can be overheard
the joneses
>free of Black person crime
>can walk down the street with no worry
>AAAAAAAH IM GOING INSANE, THIS IS A HELLSCAPE
Dont worry OP.
Dont worry lil chudcels. Jamal is still going to beat your ass.
Hot Rod
the virgin suicides
its been a while since i watched
are they sad because they live in the suburbs and dont have enough lively hustle and bustle?
They're pissed off because they live in a traditional American home with pious parents who want them to become wives one day.
What superior alternatives for mass housing are there? I’m assuming you just mean variety… they aren’t that bad at all. Typically there are parks and you can meet/talk with people outside.
There shouldn’t be mass housing
Humans need to be less centralized in urban areas
Homowner hands typed this comment. Frick you, housing prices have doubled around me since 2019. I'm making 45% more than I was and I still can't afford one.
Suck to be you lol. The home I bought in 2020 has seen an increase in value of over $100k.
Millennial gays ruined the economy for every generation after.
Gonna cry about it?
Commie blocks where you're actually allowed to buy your own unit. Or we can keep placing detached SFHs everywhere and watch as houses in the ghetto start going for a million bucks in 10 years.
or stop letting in 2 million useless shitskins every year until housing cools off
Even if the US population stopped growing tomorrow, we would need dozens of new houses to have enough for everyone
Anon, are you saying we’d only need some small multiple of 12?
>what other forms of shelter are there besides single family houses on 1/10 acre plots of land
Smoothest of all brains
>NOOOOO NOT LE SUBURBAN HELLSCAPE!!!!! WHERE IS THE AUTHENTIC LITTER? WHERE ARE THE LOITERING GENTLEMEN?? I COULD’T SURVIVE WITHOUT A BUS STOP OUT FRONT OF MY HOUSE!! ARE YOU TELLING ME ALL OF THOSE HOUSES ARE LITERALLY OCCUPIED BY EMPLOYED WH*TES??? NOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!
Halloween
That doesn't look so bad, preferable to european suburban hellscapes
terraced housing is truly a scourge on society. It's only acceptable in nicer, older neighbourhoods but those places cost millions.
Oy vey, suburbs are terrible goyim! You need to move to israelite York City and give Mr Shekelgoldstein 2500 a month in rent so you can experience the hustle and bustle of the big city! Drive? Why would you ever need a car when you can hope on urine and feces covered public transportation! If you're lucky a crack smoking mentally ill black person will stab you if you accidently make eye contact!
That's a very specific desert scape American west coast type suburbia unique to the Western deserts
Pic related very accurately encapsulates the entire vibe of these desert track housing hellscapes
Why is it always those desert suburbs that get targeted by these threads? Is it just their size? They aren't even the shittiest ones imo.
Like most new builds today, they tend to be so close together that you can stick your arm out your window and touch your neighbors house. And then the “yard” you have is 8ft x 20ft plot of land that only serves to hold the grill you bought from Home Depot and maybe a few dog turds.
But you’re still out in the suburbs far away from places you’d want to go. Pretty much just as cramped living in a condo without any of the local, nearby perks in environments where condos may be located.
These small track homes are mostly the fall-out of post-08 building and recent desires to satiate demand. Overall suburbs built pre-2000’s with actual large yards are the only ones worth living in.
Thanks! I’ll definitely check it out.

One thing I notice is that it’s usually virgin, shut-in chudcels with social anxiety who embrace suburbia.
Meanwhile, it’s good looking, charismatic guys with rich social lives who tend to avoid living in such areas (either going full-on rural or living downtown).
DUDE you are so RIGHT! These fricking CHUDS just don't get what makes the HUSTLE AND BUSTLE of the BIG CITY so great!
Thank you Hollywood for helping me understand that a traditional middle class family life is actual a HORROR STORY! WOW!
What do you propose hundreds of thousands of people live in?
the people who post these threads live in apartments
Look at all the rentcels seething. Your rent is a monthly expense that you will never get back. My mortgage is an investment that continues to grow.
Oh no, rentcel, look at the calendar! It's almost the first of the month and rent is due!
>My mortgage is an investment that continues to grow.
Except for the part of your housing costs that goes toward interest
Or the part that goes toward property taxes
Or the part that goes toward maintenance
Or the part that goes toward PMI
Or the part that goes toward HOA fees
Or the part that goes toward homowner's insurance
Really, if you bought in the last 5 or so years, a solid 75% of your housing expenses is - from a personal finance perspective - indistinguishable from rent. And the remaining 25% is an investment with a fixed return of (whatever your interest rate on the mortgage is) minus 5% (what you get in SPAXX currently).
Or the part that you continue to cope.
Or the part that you continue to seethe.
Or the part that you will never move out of your rented shoebox.
Get that check ready, rentcel. Mr. Landlord needs to buy another boat with your paychecks.
Have fun with your 8% closing costs, homowner. I put my excess income into the S&P and I'm up 25% this year.
Continue investing and maybe one day you'll be able to afford a big boy home, little guy.
I already have shares in various REITs. I probably own more homes than you do.
Congratulations, maybe one of them will let you move into their shed. It'll be nice for you to double the square footage of the box you're living in now.
I’m
and own my condo. It’s probably worth more than your wood shack that you bought from Lennar or Divosta.
Only an 8 minute bike ride to the beach. Grocery store 5 minute walk. Keep coping
Europoors really think that living in a small hut in a 200 year old building and taking public transit with brown people is the ideal way to live.
Americans think never having spontaneous interactions with members of your community (because you have to drive everywhere) is the ideal way to live. Give me a small European village any day.
For real. No wonder they’re such a divided country and suspicious of each other. Absolutely no sense of community
You are telling me that Europeans socialize with strangers on public transit? lol.
I'm so confused and honestly you have to be either chinks or zogbots to even say that. Europeans literally sit in silence on public transit and never interact with anyone. They are very anti-social compared to Americans.
>Americans think "members of your community" and "strangers" are synonymous
They've really done a number on you.
You forgot to mention how taxed they are and how little spendable income they have.
All of their experiences are from what they see on state run media and the internet. For all America's faults, at least many of them have travelled through Europe and experienced it themselves.
>For all America's faults, at least many of them have travelled through Europe and experienced it themselves.
Fewer than half of Americans have ever left the USA.
Holy shit, how the frick has no one mentioned Vivarium
