Anybody noticed how this show's gone pretty much unmentioned by everyone? Does it really deserve to be forgotten?

>Does it really deserve to be forgotten?
yes
It went to shit after they killed him off.
It's not forgotten. Klance shippers are still seething five years later.
It ended on a bloody shart after the show had already made baffling decisions with the plot leading up to it. It wasn’t even terrible in a meme-y way like Star Vs, which continues to be discussed years after it aired.
Could you summarize those decisions. I'm not well-versed to this knowledge.
From what I remember:
>Kill off the Big Bad midway thru, yet show has several seasons
>Introduce some interesting villains via his generals but meander mostly
>Turn Lotor, big bad's son into the new big bad despite being a previously established prettycoolguy. Has enslaved a whole race of space elves
>Kill him off immediately
>Make Shiro some sort of mind controlled evil clone this entire time with awful dumb implications
>Have him fight Keith, latter wins, the original Shiro takes over clone's body I guesssss?
>Crew gets thrown into the Quintessence wormhole and come out a timeskip several years later
>The general ignored several seasons ago new big bad
>They've genocided 99.99% of earth
>Give Shiro a boyfriend, then kill him offscreen in a random battle, never mentioned again
>Grimdark arc top stop general
>Next season is original Big Bad's wife Honvera, is commanding the elves her son enslaved, long baffling final season
>Ends in them destroying the universe, hopping to other dimensions and Honvera being so depressed she cannot be with her family she just kind of, gives up
>Cast forgives her automatically.
>Allura sacrifices herself to restore the multiverse because, I guess she just has the friggin power to do that. Sure why not.
>Show ends. Roll epilogue
8 Seasons of this shitshow.
And not one single beach episode. I mean really was it that hard to find a fricking beach on the countless planets they visited?
Beaches are fricking boring, frick off
Shiro's death and resurrection was also last minute and unplanned, have him come back and do frick all but then also force Keith to completely disappear for half a season, it blows my mind that they caved to stupid fan demands and hastily rewrote the story and characters
You know it did plenty of wrong when I have never ever seem anybody talk about the robot battles.
There were few of them. They didn't have a big enough budget. You can tell by how many times the show just pans over a still image.
Which is pretty odd it's fricking Voltron.
Yes. Now, unless you're going to post links to porn of my boy Lotor plowing Allura's fertile field, frick off.
>Make a cartoon based on a super robot anime but without the super robot fights.
What's the point?
Everyone clamors about shit like Franxx or what have you being the worst but this alone makes it the worst necha show. Netflix Voltron's only competition in this regard is Gen Lock.
The wounds from Franxx sting because it had a story that was interesting and compelling and then it blew it all up for baffling reasons, actively sabotaging all of their work before the home stretch.
Netflix Voltron was not a mecha show, and judged as a mecha show its a poor example of one, but the show that Voltron *was* trying to be it was doing pretty well for a couple seasons. Its simply just went on too long, and have too much heavyhanded meddling where the writers were forced to bow to twitter, and the result of too many cooks was a spoiled dish.
Saw a summary of Franxx and its crazy how bizarre the ending went
What’s crazy about Franxx was that it had some scrapped content that was heavily hinted in 001’s and Papa’s 4komas and the picture book.
I don't think I've heard about this. Elaborate.
Okay. Remember this picture book?
The author who created was the one who taken care of 02.
Throughout it, the Prince was themed around his bright white-gold-and-red color scheme, plants and gardens, his residence looked like this. Now look at Franxx’s humanity. The adults look a lot like the Prince’s wedding guests in this page, they have a religion that looks like a form of Christianity (just like the Prince’s society), nearly everything in APE society is garden themed (except the Plantations have KISSING procedures, a reference to intimate love), white-gold-and-red are present everywhere in APE society, and Nine Alpha (the son Papa is directly raising) outright replicates the Prince’s romantic gestures and recklessness on his bride (Ichigo in Alpha’s case).
A society and the children are the fruits of a tree. In order for Papa and the Prince to have fruits this similar to each other’s is if they are related or the SAME PERSON.
Note, that if the Prince is alive today, he has to hide his true form. Having direct blood contact with a Klaxosapien mutates your very own dna into becoming one of them and mating comes after marriage. So, he will be impacted directly from his very bride.
This is just one example of puzzle pieces fitting neatly together. And, if you doubt that Papa is a Darling. Look at Fuse’s lyrics:
Children fight for all they love (The Parasites. The Parasites mainly do it for Papa’s sake because they love HIM)
A city built on nightmares
And old energy
Living in a cage above (Papa is one of the only seven characters to live in the cage at the skies, because it’s the base for APE Sages)
Honing their strength (Referencing him controlling the Parasites)
And their powers together
Walk alone
And you won't last long, you know?
Fuse the mind and soul to win
We can fuse to fight as one
To keep it on the run
You lose to evil
I will be next to you
Interesting. It reminds me of the bedtime story/school play 'exposition' from Star Driver, where unless you put together that these are not nonsense but two parts of a long story about the royalty of an alien world you have no backstory for the giant robots at all.
>Gainax Imaishi still stealing their plots from older mecha
In other news, the most popular anime right now are all narou-kei adaptation.
Trigger didn't write Franxx, they just animated sequences for it and did character designs. In fact, Trigger had creative differences with the writer/director and left the project 3/4ths into the show because they kept butting heads, and the plot went full moron so soon as Trigger was gone.
A popular theory is that Trigger was pushing back against the writers dumber pet ideas because they knew they were terrible, and once they left there was no one to keep him in check so it all came out at once. But its hard to prove that.
That's what people used to excuse Aldnoah Zero's failings.
These are still the same group of morons who wrote Little Witch Academia and Kill La Kill.
LWA and KLK were good, though. LWA's only failing was that it pushed Diana too hard to appease the fans to the point that Sucy and Lottie basically disappeared from the show. KLK was insane, high energy chaos from start to finish and I wouldnt have it any other way.
Little Witch Academia is good
LWA stopped having any idea what it was doing in the second half of the show, and the animation wasn't making up for it.
LWA had no purpose besdies worshipping new age practices and witches.

I doubt that. The trigger manger wrote the backstories and the new direction of 2nd cour Franxx.
To have a high ranking official come in to suddenly turn these literal evil demonic spirits that wants to steal the Human’s kingdom into ALIENS THAT DON’T SEEK THIS, is outright freemasonry.
They worship these demons and know what they actually are. The aliens push is a part of their agenda to trick humans into thinking that these demonic beings are “superior lifeforms from other more intelligent planets”.
They want us to go back to GENESIS 6. These crazy people are corrupt to the core and steamroll us with another round Noah’s fantastic dystopian nightmare!
I can’t make this up. Sinners are legit this wicked and self-destructive to the entire crop of humanity that they’ll willingly defend and bring back the destroyers of mankind. The ones that caused God to flood the entire world so every nation has their own flood story. The Covid vaccine was them doing another round of genetic manipulations on Mankind that are transmissible by mating with each other. So zip up those pants for good.
>The Covid vaccine was them doing another round of genetic manipulations on Mankind that
It’s not an alien world. It takes place on a Biblical Earth. Enough so that before the massive retcons the Princess gets, she refers to the evil spiritual beings as “human wannabes”. Which is a big reference to fallen angels and demons instead of “Aliens”. Since they’ve wanted to steal the divine rights of humans for their entire existences.
The backstory that makes the most sense would be that the Klaxosapiens and Klaxosaurs were originally humans before they were genetically and mechanically corrupted by these wicked false Gods. Thus, when other humans contact with their blood, they too will be genetically corrupted.
Trigger and A1 are so suspicious after Franxx since they hastily covered up the literal DEMONS and their massive influences on humanity by giving them a nonsensical alien retcon at the last second, then erased the original Princess and the Prince/Papa with lookalikes that don’t have any actual backstories whatsoever.
Look at this comic, there’s no way this guy was supposed to be some genderless alien that hates being a daddy and can’t spread love to others. It clearly has the guy besides him trying to manipulate him into committing acts he doesn’t want to commit onto these children, just like a DEMON. Jokes are based on knowledge and reality. You can always tell how much knowledge a person secretly has by what they’re joking about. Evil people especially do this all of the time. Clowns are created and used by Freemasons to represent and worship the Nephilims. They hide it with comedy to trick people to accept these rituals publicly.
But like things all things demonic, they can and will lead back to Jesus if you look hard enough. The amount of effort and care they have to denounce him and erase him from a property is astounding.

Franxx had lore? I only knew it as the cuckquean show
If you have been on Cinemaphile for more than a week, you know that most of the shit that Cinemaphile describes as 'cuck' or 'ntr' has nothing even remotely resembling those terms, and much of the rest of wildly misinterpreted.
Franxx has one girl who has served alongside many male pilots because most of her co-pilots die within 3 missions with her because they are not compatible. This is not cucking.
Another girl didnt want to spend the rest of her life with a guy that she was essentially assigned to as a copilot by random lottery, when there was someone else she actually liked instead. This is also not cucking.
I watch pretty much everything animated, give me a name and I'll watch it
Da Boom Crew. Followed by Rickety Rocket.
thanks chief
i thought that one general in the earlier seasons who was plotting against Lotor was going to have some importance but I guess it went nowhere
Same problem as the Battlestar Galactica reboot and game of thrones: Strong start and middle with some good elements and storylines all wasted because the last season was awful and the ending sucked. The ending of a show is the most important part, because its the payoff for all of the investment and setup that has happened before. A show can survive a bad start because it 'gets good later'. A show can survive a weak middle if it starts and ends strong. But a great show with a bad ending is just a bad show, and it will be remembered as such, because that was the last thing the audience experienced of it and is the impression they carried with them after.
The reverse also happens. Eureka Seven is a long, poorly paced, weird mess of a show with a ton of dead episodes and nonsense plot. But the ending is EXTREMELY cathartic, a totally overblown happy ending at the end of a long road of misery, and that ending is what anyone who watched the show remembers and came away with.
>The reverse also happens. Eureka Seven is a long, poorly paced, weird mess of a show with a ton of dead episodes and nonsense plot.
Eureka 7 is wasted on you.
Is Eureka Seven good? I heard it's a good rec for shonen romance.
It's a slow burn show, and it uses a lot of in-universe only terms that can get confusing, but the pay off is wonderful and well worth it. Fantastic soundtrack too. also non cgi mechs.
Yes, provided you can tolerate the protagonist.
That's the nature of producing a show. You keep going until the popularity wanes and the ROI starts dipping. Anime generally avoids that because they write the things with clearly defined arcs and endings. Live productions write season to season and suffer when they start running out of ideas and budget, and that gets carried over to Western animation because people who pitch shows get their payday selling the show and then coast off residuals. Sometimes we get stories with clear, well defined, quality endings, sometimes we get Voltron.
there are exceptions, for example nobody cared that death note has a boring ending
Lotor more like Cute-or.
We needed a dream/holodeck/whatever episode where nothing goes wrong in the past and Allura grows up along side this Lotor and the go on cute dates.
Why did they kill off Edo Tensei Madara when they had nothing good enough to replace him?
>show is shit
>nobody talks about it
Wow what a fricking shocker.
People talk about Owl House and other mediocre Disney toons all the time.
The Owl House was actually good, though.
Most of the YA animated streaming shows are left forgotten due to their episode dumps and typical low quality content.
Haha, good one
Show collapsed under itself. A bunch of unresoved plot points, characters and powers going underused and underdefined, and the finale had nothing interesting going for it.
Voltron pissed off its fanbase
Owl House didn't
I didn't like VLD and I never TOH
I just figured that's the case
That's pretty much it.
Regardless of how you feel about Owl House's quality, it delivered on what it promised. If you watched it for the magic school shit, it had magic school shit. If you watched it for the lesbians, it had lesbians. If you watched it for the lore, it had lore. Regardless of the quality of delivery, it delivered, so someone will always be capable of enjoying it. It gives them something.
Voltron doesn't deliver on any of its promises. It sets itself up as a mecha show but it isn't. It sets up lore and doesn't follow through, sets up relationships and doesn't follow through, it sets up gay shit and doesn't follow through. Nobody who watches Voltron for any reason will get the thing they want out of it.
>It sets itself up as a mecha show
It very much is
>it sets up gay shit
Your headcannon isn't real. Now kneel and squeal
Yeah I was referring to shiro's thing, not the Klance lunacy
Devil's advocate, Shiro thing was Dreamworks veto. That said. Rewriting Ezor's death was to try to apologize fricking moronic.
And the execs calling for Shiro to survive were entirely in the right. The writers were fricking stupid for trying to kill off the strongest character of the first season
Klance was just fujo overreaction but the staff was fully aware of the fujos demands for gay men and tried to deliver with Shiro
They just did it in the dumbest, laziest way possible that turned people off
>Regardless of the quality of delivery, it delivered
I wanted a side cast that mattered. Instead the finale forgot about everybody and made Luz the only meaningful contributor.
I'll give Voltron credit for one thing. Most other cartoons you have to tell people to keep watching because it gets much better, but Voltron was good from the start. Sadly, it peaked in the first two seasons and never recovered, then completely overstayed its welcome. The fact that Voltron got 78 episodes and The Owl House only 43 is a grave injustice.
Does Cinemaphile like anything?
I don't know a thing about this show but what does everything have be unhealthily obsessed over to matter? Why can't people just treat entertainment as a past time than an entire lifestyle nowadays.
The only good thing to come from this show was Shiro and Shiro porn.
Game of thrones phenomenon. Execution so bad it got killed in the zeitgeist
Whatever remaining good faith left behind by the toxic fanbase was cremated by the dumbass showrunners.
It had a lot of potential that was ultimately squandered because the writers didn't know what the frick they actually wanted to do and got scared of their psychotic fans
To be fair, while it was airing voltron threads were pretty damn unhinged. The fans really, really needed to shut the frick up and chill the frick out.
If you deal with aliens, you lose by default.
You know what? I liked Voltron. I liked it the entire way through.
You can't smidge the Pidge.
