Why does he condone the Russian invasion despite being so staunchly anti-war for his whole career?

Well Stone is israeli, so he probably raped a child or two in R*ssia and was filmed by the FSB.

Oliver Stone is is the only guy who can have an actual conversation with Putin and their dialogue dates back to the Crimea. Try turning your brain off the immediate media and get some perspective.

Do you seriously think that Putin would tell Oliver Stone the truth and not just view the whole thing as an opportunity to dump some propaganda in through one of the most prominent anti-US names in media?

Just watch the interviews. Putin is pretty frank about everything. The tragedy is that the the only statesman who took it serious was Macron. The US, GB and Germany all thought he was full of shit, but he was very clear way back in 2014 that the current situation was intolerable to Russia.

I have seen them. Why do you take what he says (in that context no less) at face value? And why buy into Putin's strategy of painting himself and Russia as inseparable. Most of these problems are only so for the survival of his regime.

              >frank
              LMAO

He was and is pretty frank. I'll give you an example; he is asked about homosexual rights. His answer is that he personally doesn't care much, but that the russian people as a majority does care. Imagine if an American statesman said something like that. He, and every russian statesman before him, has said that the Ukraine was holy ground. And every American president has from the Clintons and Bush' has respected that. Then Obama came along with his colour revolutions and Trump continued it since they stuck their money grabbing hands in the energy pie.

This is what NPC's do when their sanitized and sanctioned worldview is threatened. They make things up (mental gymnastics) to support their reality otherwise it leads to a complete mental breakdown/anger/schizophrenia.

Haven't seen it. Don't need Oliver Stone to know the war is largely the USA's fault. They hoped they could bog Russia down in an Afghanistan-like quagmire that would destroy their economy, wreck their relationship with Germany, and lead to the overthrow of Putin.
Of those goals, only the German-Russian relationship one will be achieved.

      you should watch it though
I had the same thoughts as you and then I watched it and it reinforced just how insane the US deepstate is and how long what is happening now has been in the works.

The Nazis from WWII pretty much stayed operational in Ukraine and were never held accountable.
