Anyone else think certain things in comics should be done differently?
In The Immortal Hulk #25, I thought it would have been cooler if the Hulk had an accretion disk and spewed green energy and emitted highly-destructive gamma-ray bursts constantly, like a roving black hole (or green hole) or quasar instead of being just an extra large Hulk. Then peering inside from the event horizon, Par%l would see the One Below All before escaping by going FTL into the far past.

      That'd be cool.

I don't think that's a bad idea but I like the fact that the story emphasizes that Hulk being roughly humanoid means the beings of the next universe see him as fricked up beyond all comprehension.

I don't think it's a good idea to retain the humanoid shape. It takes the cosmic element right out of it. If it must be flesh-like, let it be eldritch.

Disagree. Remember, Hulk isn't an incomprehensible mass to us, the reader, he's a cosmic horror to the denizens of that universe.

          >he's a cosmic horror to the denizens of that universe.
He'd just be a large animal/creature to them too.

That guy isn't making shit up, the aliens in that issue describe things like Hulk's limbs and musculature the way Lovecraft describes his cosmic horrors. Cause to them a humanoid form is completely alien.

              Yeah, I think that's silly.

I don't. It's a cool take on a completely foreign universe that doesn't have any of the same concepts we do.

                Anonymous

I don't think it's very interesting, given that we are the readers, not the aliens.
Still, seeing even an eldritch abomination physically breaking planets is lame.

                Anonymous

Again, very much disagree. This issue is fantastic, a civilization without the concept of green or muscles or humanoid form encountering an evil from a previous universe breaking planets rules. If you are the OP I think your idea specifically wouldn't work as well, turning him into a roving black hole makes the cosmic violence he does feel less cruel, and more like a natural extension of him just existing. Remember, Hulk is in a similar role to Galactus here, but with far more intentionality and cruelty behind him. He's not feeding, he's breaking.

                Again, I think that's lame.
I think the violence of a black hole can be communicated as cruel, especially once it is revealed that is is sentient. A mutual fear of an unstoppable cosmic force would also be better than something that's scary for someone that isn't the reader.

That just feels ultimately very generic, in the same way that the cloud Galactus from that Fantastic Four movie was. Seriously, as much as Marvel cosmic is populated by what are essentially big guys, they're usually shooting beams or doing some cosmic bullshit, not literally punching planets. I like this, it's interesting and doesn't get used ever again so it's a nice one-off.

Remember, this is the hulk johns said who will die to save superman

No, that line was about Doomsday dying to protect Superman from Hulk.

It can be anticlimactic if the execution is poor, but I don't think it would be generic. This is an object in space we know little about except that it fricks with gravity and time. There's so much you can do with our current understanding, and even more if you apply a little imagination.
The planet-punching big man is just not interesting.

This will be my final post on Cinemaphile.

How can anyone think that this is scary for real ? How can anyone take seriously a horror book with the Hulk as a supposed to be frightening monster ? How can anyone see the Hulk as frightening for real in this book ?
"Ouh, the Hulk is smiling, so unsetlling, this is so scary guys..." why are you lying to yourself like that ?
You guys are just forcing onto yourself the new fade there will be in this hivemind of a board, with the blandest, tamest, most classicly safe comic book there can be, while your selective outrage is shitting on Zdarsky's Batman for things that would be praised if they were written by someone else, but NOOOOOOOOOOOO you have to shit on it even if it's good because the hivemind dictates you to do so !!!

No wonder you can't get laid, but guess what ? I got a girlfriend now. For the first time of my life after 24 years I finally got a girlfriend, and all that nerd fuss has become so irritating since.
I'm just leaving for good now, I had plenty of fun with that board but I'm done. I wish you to get girlfriends to, maybe it will open your eyes about the hivemind that is destructing your self, but sadly, the hivemind is probably keeping you away from being able to seduce anyone, so you're most likely trapped in a vicious circle, and sadly, there is no Radiant Black to save you from it. I just hope that this message will maybe help you to think by yourself a bit more and to get a girlfriend to.

    Enjoy your book.

I honestly have no reason why they don't have Hulk doing gamma burst shit. It's so obvious.

Ladies please, you can agree to disagree.

I would've liked Devil Hulk to look like the scaley frick he is in Bruce's mind. And to be more actively sinister.

I dunno, I like that Bruce’s sad, broken mind filled in the blanks and made a “family”
      >scary protective dad who’s always gonna have your back
      >douchey older brother who drinks and gambles but dad trusts him with the family business
      >moron baby brother who’s heart of gold can be taken advantage of

When you read Savage and Joe as Bruce’s “brothers” the dynamic becomes more interesting, I remember the debut of Professor Hulk when the memory of Bruce’s mom referred to them as brothers and Joe just said
      >I don’t wanna die, ma

I'm down with all that, I'd still want devil hulk to look reptilian in the real world as well and be more menacing while still looking out for Bruce.

I'm going through the Professor Hulk arc now. I had to begrudingly admit that they did set the groundwork for Professor being another alter and not the true fusion of all Bruce's selves.

Professor being an altar for me (with hindsight) made sense with how he initially treated Betty.

Bruce for all his faults, even at their worst, most toxic points loves Betty and Professor fricking off to go play with the Pantheon was a perfect red flag that Bruce was not in control.

Bruce runs away, this is true, she’s always chasing him, it’s the crux of their relationship but here he just walked away.

It’s that coldness the meaner altars have, Joe, Devil and early Professor

I agree, the reptile should’ve come out, shedding the Hulk disguise like skin and then do the “I love you, you stupid kid” scene with Bruce accepting this monsterous part of his mind as the closest thing he will ever have to a loving father.

          Devil should’ve committed more murders

Only Ewing can bring him back, but it seems that all hulks in Bruce's head are back, but all are missing thanks to this Hulk, that seems to be OG Avengers smart hulk, and put all of them on jail for being friends with Banner.

See, I can’t wait for Bruce’s brothers to get free.

The “son stepped up to the dad’s mantle” version of Joe was great, I really like Bruce, Savage and Joe as the core three
