I liked it at the time, never re-watched it. Though I do remember it suffered from the filler plague like all shows. The moany female singer in the bar was annoying, and they must have given her like 3 songs in diff episodes or something.
Season 2 isn't as good as season 1, but it's a fun watch in its own right. The plot is nowhere near as meandering as some people claim it is. Colin Farrell's got some hilarious lines, only eclipsed by Vince Vaughn's lines and scenery chewing. Rachel McAdams is a total cutie. Taylor Kitsch's closeted homosexual cop is the only one I didn't care for. Felt really underdeveloped.
Nope. Just because the 4th season that I didnt give a frick about or watch sucked Im not going to pretend that Colin Farrells Ray and Vince being hilariously miscast saved the rest of the shit that was the 2nd season. Youre worse than the capeshit loving prequelgays.
>Vince isn't on that level but I don't think its a bad performance at all
I personally think it's Vince's best, he had few more serious roles, but he was never near the TD levels
Vince was funny as frick he just didnt fit at all. Ray would need more screen time if he was going to single handedly carry the season. Which would have been possible if to no ones surprise the femoid and the gays roles were drastically reduced.
Vince gets some of the most ridiculous dialogue but I don't think there's anything wrong with his performance unless you inherently can't get over seeing him playing a non-comedic role.
Rewatched S1 and S2 after Night Country put a bad taste in my mouth.
Season 1 is good, sure. But it was a real redditor feeling that puts me off it these days. You can just picture the adult video game player watching it and talking about how "based" and "kino" everything is.
Season 2 though is the real deal. Been starved for this kind of quality for so long its like oxygen.
>Entire town is getting aggressive because they've been drinking satan-infused bath water >Guy sees how he's going to die in two weeks and realizes it's the other cop who must know they killed that one girl >Bullshit s1 tie-in
At least we know why Cohle went super fricking nuts dosing himself on dinosaur bones
colin farrell. is. gruffy mcgruffster.
>watered down james elroy

she was probably fricking a producer or some shit kek
No it sucked. Not as bad as the 4th but still bad. Boring most of all.
Gee, now I'm having second thoughts about trying to re-watch it again. I dropped it back then for this very same opinion.
shut up and watch it homosexual
its great
>t. litterallyrust
I'm sorry
Nah. TD was never that great and only season 1 was watchable due to the two leads and semblance of mystery.

Season 2 is pleb filter. Caspere knew this.

the shield shits all over true detective. deserves more attention on Cinemaphile
I don’t get why it doesn’t. Maybe because Sopranos overshadowed it?
s1 >>>> mare of easttown > s2 >>s3>>>>>>s4

Colin Farrell is 10/10 in this role imo. Vince isn't on that level but I don't think its a bad performance at all. Rachel McAdams is pretty great too.

Like I said. Anyone likes season 2 never seen The Shield. It’s a piss poor knock off.
TD season 2 is nothing like it apart from the most superficial shit like being about crooked LA cops and there being a gay guy.

You mean all the important shit of season 2
>i invented people in my mind who i consider cringe liking this show so i cant like it anymore

Yes, Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey produced True Detective S01-S04

I'd be pretty pissed too
Ray is literally me, even moreso than Rust
you could tell right from the start that it wouldn't be as good
something about this character resonated with me deeply. i feel like i can relate in so many ways
Because you’re closer homosexual?
