that's not to say these new movies have any soul, but jeez.
Only one good thing came out of 2014 and it was the Halo jump trailer. Seeing random parts of Godzilla as the clouds and lightning flickered was so cool. KotM has been the only good American one.
nah, cranston was fine but everything else was underwhelming. human element was boring after he dies and godzilla is not nearly as much in it as he should be.
That 2014 movie was actually scary godzilla. I cant watch goofy godzilla movies where hes supposed be the hero. Frick that shit I want him to frick up the city and show people crying then he leaves.
>is the best one in terms of thought out audio contrast >is the only one I couldn't go to the theater
My only regret, now every scene is so busy with roars and music blaring out at the same time into a garbled mess
>A lot of boring shit happens
godzilla charging up and fricking up the muto is about the only cool thing that happens. but it's cool if you like the movie. good for you.
I really enjoyed this one but im not super invested in this universe so i just found it entertaining and want to frick the female lead with the short hair
Scar being noticeably smaller than Kong but more agile translated well into their first fight, they could have just made a bigger monkey which would have been dull.
The bit between kong getting btfo by scar and the ice pokemon until the final confrontation was the weakest part of the movie
Anyhow thanks for reading my blog
>Scar being noticeably smaller than Kong but more agile translated well into their first fight, they could have just made a bigger monkey which would have been dull.
It also makes sense because Kong has been fighting kaiju, every day of his entire life so of course he's the chad of all monkeys. Scar King stis on a throne throwing poop at other apes in a cold, dark cave.
So
After the final fight in Rio...
Brazil is inhabitable for the next 100 years or so right? if not the whole continent
Isnt Godzilla super radioactive?
I understand him just walking around wont be radioactive for plot purposes but once he starts discharging beams everywhere that has to have some effect
That's not how radioactivity works.
Also how they made Godzilla and many others impervious to nukes is stupid, but I guess they had to because everybody would be complaining "why don't they just nuke him".
>Also how they made Godzilla and many others impervious to nukes is stupid
The only stupid person is you. Godzilla in every incarnation except for the first American one and possibly early showa is immune to the force from a nuclear explosion.
>and possibly early showa is immune to the force from a nuclear explosion.
Showa Godzilla is a Nuke born one just like the original 54 is, Anguirus is too. They even identified the latter as a regular old Ankylosaurus pre-nuking. Debatable if he could survive modern day force but 50's era nukes is what made him in the first place and radioactivity powers him up.
Actually in this very movie there is a line about how the military cant get close to him because of the radiation he's putting off ambiently. It's when he's leaving the french reactor.
KOTM was garbage because its fight choreography was shit and you also couldn't see the fights because it kept cutting to humans every 10 seconds. moronic movie
2014 had amazing atmosphere (until the last 2 minutes of runtime where it treats Godzilla like a superhero out of nowhere) to counterbalance the fact that you couldn't see shit. Mediocre movie
Skull Island had good atmosphere and fights. Good movie
GvK had good fights and nothing else. It's fun to watch at least
I honestly feel relieved seeing these threads. While I didn't hate this film, I thought I was the only one who didn't like it either. I just felt disappointed and letdown upon leaving the theater.

Many such cases, sad!
Frick was his problem? And why was he so weak? Ain't no way he had the Lizard on the ropes when he folded after base Kong slammed him once. He he wasn't even strong enough to choke Kong.
Was Zilla drunk the day they were fighting?
Presumably he fought big G alongside his troop rather than one on one. Given his performance with Kong I highly doubt he’d have survived a solo encounter with the thing that spent the previous movie skull dragging Kong around.
The only reason Zilla won against Kong last time was because the writers removed the cooldown timer on atomic breath. Zilla was quick firing that shit all day with no let-up and it's what made Kong dislocate his shoulder. Zilla also quickfired it to stop Kong from breaking his jaw, t-rex style.
All in all, Kong would have won if Zilla's atomic breath had the normal 15 second charge up time.
Kong is only a couple hundred years old if that Godzilla is at least 2 million
He has no experience fighting someone double his weight and power as well as all the battle experience
He did incredibly well when you look at this movie where Godzilla kills two titans in less then a minute compared to when he fought Godzilla until morning and even made him go all out
He is a kid in comparison to Godzilla and that is fine because we will get to see him grow over the course of the series
he was kind of a jobber tbh. A lot of the hype in the movie got deflated when they explain that Godzilla supposedly handled this before, I think even Shimu as well. if Just Godzilla could BTFO Skar jobber, his little army, and Shimu, everything Kong did wasn't really necessary. Godzilla is barely in the final fight and is barely ever bothered by it, the worst he gets is a beat down from Kong himself which was kinda a slip up because he beats the shit out of Kong immediately after. I wish they put some more thought into this movie and made Shimu more of a threat
Skaretty needed an army of monkey homies and possibly shimu pet to invade earth and stirr shit up. Apparently, big dimes godzilla heemed him, all of his monkey minions and shimo thousands of years ago with no big deal.
Kong landed one hit on him in their first fight, and while it was a good one, he didn't actually seem hurt by it. Skar's just the kind of butthole who takes one punch in a street fight and immediately pulls out a gun.
Remember a few threads a while back some schizos claimed that Godzilla having "pink" scales meant he was now trans and the line "It's changed" was referring to him now, even though any sane person who watched the film would know it's about the frequency?
>The Kingdom of Monsters comic was the first time Godzilla's ever been shown being hit directly with a nuke.
And Godzilla Minus 1 actually beat that awful Monarch show to the punch being the first onscreen depiction of Godzilla being directly hit with a nuke.
I couldnt finish shin godzilla the effects are just too dogshit to enjoy. And of course you're stuck with the japanese acting. I dont understand how these countries dont have any money tp produce quality big budget blockbusters. USA is still no.1.
This movie has a few cool fights, but CHRIST the human characters were shit. There's a few exceptions like the dad and a few other monarch ppl but everyone else, especially the army people and the dumb b***h mother ruin the movie. Also, somehow the oxygen destroyer has returned
Each Monsterverse movie has been an improvement over the last.
GxK is the best one. It's a 1:1 with the Showa era with a Hollywood blockbuster budget. There's literally nothing disparaging you can say about it that wouldn't retroactively apply to those. I love it. I'm happy to have a stone cold kino like Minus One and a balls to the wall schlockfest like GxK.
I liked all the kong parts but you can just feel the directors dislike of godzilla himself just radiating through the screen. You can tell he'd just love to have kong beat the breaks off godzilla but hes contractually obligated to make godzilla stronger so he just minimizes his part in the movie and doesnt give him a quarter of the stuff kong gets. Also the human part of the story was dumber than ever, though less offensive than the last movie. They should have cut down the human scenes to give godzilla some actual development, or make his fights harder or something.
I don't agree with this. I think that it comes from franchise management shit. Toho is licensing out Godzilla and those characters. And while the relationship is nice and they seem to be working well together, Toho has the power at any point to decide not to renew their deal and take their Godzilla toys back home for good. In that instance they'd be fricked. So they're putting in the leg-work making Kong the protagonist and setting up a world around him so that whenever that does happen, they still have a stable franchise to work with.
Plus, I honestly think it benefits the movies because it makes Godzilla's presence special. He's still in the movie a good amount, especially compared to the previous movies in this series and Godzilla movies on a whole. It just feels little comparatively because Kong gets so much. By having Kong, the more humanish creature be the protagonist, you get to have Godzilla, the cool one, be the thing you edge the audience with so it's that much cooler when he appears.
Literally not true. He's in it more than any of the others. He has a strong presence in this movie. KOTM is arguably the only one that could beat it. But it's definitely more than G14 or GvK

It's a little known fact that Godzilla was trained by Verne Gagne and wrestled in the territories back in the 60s and early 70s under the name Gorgeous Garry Ziller.
They are making them with smaller budgets with each instalment
Especially with inflation also wingtard doesn't do weight and scale most of the times that's why they look worse
2014 >Not a single human is there for no reason >Informs you who/what/when/where/why >nobody says anything they don't need to once the plot is happening, the rest is character development to humanise them >Camera always focused on the monsters size >Original score that implies Godzilla is Japanese with its aesthetics
KOTM >Heisei movie with bigger budget >Characters who are there for no reason >Gonorrhea >Monsters are just as big but more god-like >All the Toho owned monsters look better than ever, all the original ones are dumb >Bear McCreary's beautiful cinematic renditions of Akira Ifukube themes, there is no going back from this point >sets up intriguing ideas for sequels >the entire world is literally changed by kaiju activity
Skull Island >Marvel movie
GvK >undoes literally everything that happened in KOTM in the intro >characters whose backstories are only explained in external media >monsters are now capable of acrobatics >shit music
GxK >Showa movie with a bigger budget >90% is Planet of the Apes when there's nothing to compare their size to >manages to trim the human scenes down to the bare minimum so there is no time to be annoying >monsters now do pro wrestling >doubles down on the worst music in the series
Monarch: Legacy of Monsters >someone had a good idea to go back to 2014 aesthetics then dropped the script in the toilet so every second episode is shit smeared
>KOTM
I FRICKING LOVE THE DIVORCE PLOT LINE
YEAH, LETS KEEP CUTTING BACK TO THAT
NOBODY WANTS TO SEE THE MONSTERS
GET THAT SHITTY CHILD ACTOR ON SCREEN AGAIN PEOPLE LOVE STRANGER THINGS RIGHT????
I'm still angry about that movie.
She was adorable in KotM and honestly I liked her character well enough. None of the characters in the Monsterverse are what I would call 'good' except for maybe Serizawa, but she was one of the least offensive for sure.
the way Godzilla kills Ghidorah in this one was so damn lame. not blowing up the head, thats cool, but his energy motrga pulse thing. so anticlimactic.
also, I realized the movies had a streak of the antagonist monsters’ heads getting severed that GxK ruined >2014: mutos head melted off by atomic breath >kotm: one of Ghidorahs head getting torn off earlier, then ultimately exploded by Godzilla by atomic breath at the end >GvK: Kong tears mechagodzillas head off, homage to showa
all they had to do was show Skar King’s frozen head decapitated, then stomped to bits
GHIDORAH A b***h!
fuuuuck apessss!
I don't watch goyslop.
Godzilla is my king so I don't have to I already bent the knee it can't be unbent.

The funny thing is that compared to the sequels, 2014 is supposed to be the last place in the in term of kill count.
Everyone went nuts for the atomic breath scene. Really cool to experience in theater.
>is the best one in terms of thought out audio contrast
>is the only one I couldn't go to the theater
My only regret, now every scene is so busy with roars and music blaring out at the same time into a garbled mess
Burgertard dogshit that led into pink troony Godzilla
never seen pink godzilla before
I think you're both right, but the human element in 2014 is boring, while its outright bad in the others.
What does the Pink means?
it was a dmg buff her got after beating another kaiju and absorbing a power source under the oceans
it takes a real man to wear a girl color
i skipped all olsen scene, the movie became a 9/10
chimpanzee hands typed this
>Pink means troony
Oh come on, it looks silly as hell, but what the frick does that have to do with trannies?
Is GxK worse? Yes. Is KoTM good? Frick no.
GvK is fun, KOTM is frustrating
I said GxK, as in the new one. But yes, GvK is fun.
>A lot of boring shit happens
godzilla charging up and fricking up the muto is about the only cool thing that happens. but it's cool if you like the movie. good for you.

Also kong being smarter, they have always shown him having some intellect besides instinct
hateful gorrillist propaganda
This movie put me in a coma until the hour mark. Dan Stevens shone. All the female characters were unnecessary.
I wanna frick the true female lead
Had no idea she was a brit, but I love her
GxK had a lot of gorilla warfare in it haha get it
KOTM is great.
Why? I liked KotM. It wasn’t perfect, but it was better than GvK
because GxK blows
Yes. Yes it does.
More like Kino of the Monsters
So

He is literally pink.
That's one of the saddest attempt at damage control I've ever seen.
It's not damage control, just pointing out the correct color.

okay
All in all, Kong would have won if Zilla's atomic breath had the normal 15 second charge up time.
>what was round 3
Bad writing, since Zilla should already be dead if you go by the established rules that were set before round 2.
Kong is only a couple hundred years old if that Godzilla is at least 2 million

>someone had a good idea to go back to 2014 aesthetics then dropped the script in the toilet so every second episode is shit smeared
>KOTM
I FRICKING LOVE THE DIVORCE PLOT LINE
YEAH, LETS KEEP CUTTING BACK TO THAT
NOBODY WANTS TO SEE THE MONSTERS
GET THAT SHITTY CHILD ACTOR ON SCREEN AGAIN PEOPLE LOVE STRANGER THINGS RIGHT????
I'm still angry about that movie.
Bad shot from a bad movie. Dougherty can't direct.
Hurry up and direct thundercats, wingtard
I hope you do a better job with that than you have with Godzilla
What a homosexual.
The ghidorah kill was so cool.
She was hot in GvK and still is
GODDESZILLA
QUEEN OF THE MONSTERS
She was adorable in KotM and honestly I liked her character well enough. None of the characters in the Monsterverse are what I would call 'good' except for maybe Serizawa, but she was one of the least offensive for sure.
>Best monster fights
>Best cinematography
>Best visuals
>Absolute terrible dialogue, corny jokes and human characters
Why? Why ruin a movie that was so solid?
the way Godzilla kills Ghidorah in this one was so damn lame. not blowing up the head, thats cool, but his energy motrga pulse thing. so anticlimactic.
also, I realized the movies had a streak of the antagonist monsters’ heads getting severed that GxK ruined
>2014: mutos head melted off by atomic breath
>kotm: one of Ghidorahs head getting torn off earlier, then ultimately exploded by Godzilla by atomic breath at the end
>GvK: Kong tears mechagodzillas head off, homage to showa
all they had to do was show Skar King’s frozen head decapitated, then stomped to bits
the way he kills ghidorahs head in this was great. he ate it. then the music swells. killer. gxk and gvk really missed out on using godzilla's theme.
I'm sorry
vegeta is just rodan
Sit down, kid.
