Apparently Phantom Menace is popular again.
>Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace has suddenly had a burst in popularity
>according to multiple sources, The Phantom Menace is now the most-viewed Star Wars movie on the streamer worldwide, as reported by Variety.
>This comes right before the movie’s 25th anniversary on July 16.
Prequelbros, we won ... we had to wear out the rlm-reddit crowds, but eventually — we won.
who are they in the top panel?

Wow he got to take a picture with…. uh…Taika watiki? Yay?
Every single prequel will become rehabilitated in our lifetime. Feels great actually
sexo
>the Anakin-Padme romance is good actually
>the delivery is stiff but the "I hate sand" scene is fine and relatable
>Hayden Christensen as Anakin is an iconic performance
get over it
Knightly love and genuine romance is anathema to the modern critic.
"Where is the cynicism?? Where are the Black folk??"
Meanwhile the average moviegoer has been starved of beautiful people, genuine emotion, meaning, duty, epic tragedy and clarity of morality and purpose and so prequels obviously keep being relevant
Yeah that's why Reylo is so popular and modern online movie critics despise it. They can't accept the idea that two flawed people would fall in love and try to make the best of their messy relationship.
>Reylo
have a nice day troony
White male x white female isn't a troony pairing its the default ship for 99% of white women, kys
>genuine emotion, meaning, duty, epic tragedy and clarity of morality and purpose
You'll find none of that in the prequels. You'll find awful acting, worse dialogue, a moronic plotline, and characters with utterly nonsensical motivations.
What you're describing is only in the OT.

According to multiple sources, OP blows the neighborhood pets in the alley all day.
It reminds people of a simpler time
3>2>>>>>>>>>>1
My recall: The first one was allright, the second was utter trash, even being a child I couldn't remember anything about it except being like a grating noise of cliches and failed suspense, The third one was actually pretty good!
This except III > IV > VI > V > I >>> II
Phantom Menace is my favorite Star Wars. I actually like the kid and the way Quigon obsesses over him adds an air of mystery and destiny. Midichlorian count and virgin birth is kinda cringe but its throwaway dialogue. Podrace is great. I love the design of Naboo and the Princess Geisha look for Padme. The chrome ship. Maul. Also the politics are interesting, mysterious, and make sense. In the later 2 it gets too unbelievable and you have to start suspending your disbelief way more. Phantom Menace is the best prequel.
Phantom Menace isn't a great movie but it's far and away the best prequel. Yeah, Kid Anakin and JarJar kind of suck, but there's still some gorgeous cinematography and production design. Duel of the Fates and the Podrace are excellent action sequences. The movie is shot on film with real sets and location shooting so it still looks like a real movie instead of the other two, which look like cartoons.
attack of the clones is unwatchable and Revenge of the Sith is only entertaining as an unintentional comedy because it's an autistic man's failed attempt at Shakespearean tragedy
>Duel of the Fates and the Podrace are excellent action sequences
doesn't matter because the characters involved are extremely shallow. Dooku is a much more interesting villain and Obi wans detective plot is somewhat fun
>attack of the clones is unwatchable
Except for Padme eye candy. Otherwise Iskn4 agree.
watch the RLM reviews
A sign of how low standards have sunk more than anything else
I've always thought Phantom Menace isn't that bad besides Jar Jar. It's not amazing but it's a decent movie, it seemed a lot worse at the time because the only thing to compare it to was the original trilogy.
Attack of the Clones is bad.
correct
aotc has the same first draft script problems but the effects and environments are now entirely early generation CGI
This movie disappointmented me because there wasn't enough Maul. I thoroughly enjoyed the doublecrossing israeli alien scheme to rob the planet and turn it into a parking lot or some shit
Well it's pretty obvious nobody actually watches modern films. Just look at any place that allows discussion of it, including this place, barely any names from this millenium. They used to watch at least a bit of TV but that has seemingly dried up.
>Dinduney makes sequels SO FRICKING BAD people have to turn to old movies that weren't even good
this is probably the worst couple of decades for movies and tv shows in the last 70 years and who knows how much longer we're gonna have to wait to see good writing again.
Or maybe every time a new movie comes out people try to marathon the series and don't get far. That would mean people would watch 1 at least 6 times

If thats the case 1 will end up the most watched SW movie, not because its good but because that's how people are.
It's not going to happen. All major financial interests in the west today are in full "too big to fail" mode and on the rare offchance they would there is no reason to think the government wouldn't bail them out. The number one thing that determines a show or a movies success today is whether they can get past Chinas censorship guidelines and get at their 1 billion customer base. This means they've had pretty much unlimited leverage to get rid of actually talented people while still producing blockbuster success.
>I’ve never watched Star Wars before.
>Should we check it out?
>Sure. Look at all of them. Where do we start?
>Hmmm. Oh, look. This one is Episode 1. Must be the first one.
Why are people watching TPM the most?
Get ready zoomers.
They aren’t just rereleasing it to make a few bucks, they are gauging metrics to see if spending millions on a new “prequel” trilogy would be a worthwhile venture.
Since it’s doing better than they thought in theaters, you are basically telling them:
>please fricking destroy it and make more of them
It will happen. You will soon feel the pain OT chads have felt.
the thing you like is already crappy to begin with though so it probably won’t sting as bad.
They already burned every single bridge they had with OT fans, now it’s your turn.
Pretty much this. Entertainment is simply so ugly, offensive and uninspired now that rereleasing a controversial bad movie from 1999 seems like a return to form in comparison.
The prequels are garbage but I sincerely would take them over any blockbuster of the last 20 years.
>disney destroys Star Wars even more
I would feel bad if it wasn’t so fricking funny to watch
I'M SORRY
Popular like stale saltine crackers during a hangover. If anything, E1's success is a reflection of just how far movies and entertainment has fallen. The people would rather rewatch the bland, uninteresting Dry Wars than anything made in the last 24 years.
Our true enemy has yet to reveal himself.”
MIKE! HELP!
The prequel trilogy at least was trying to create something entirely new. I did like the KOTOR games a lot in the end though.
The Disney Wars sequels were just an uninspired subpar rehash.
>Entirely new
>Darth Vader is now Space Jesus and the Clone Wars were boba fett stormtroopers
lmao
No, I will not watch your IP, Disyeed. I know your sequels tanked and you need more money.
Best prequel
It's the most watched on D+ because stay at home moms can sit their snot nosed kids down in front of it, put it on loop and they will be quiet and entertained all day. It's literally aimed at 6 year olds.
The prequels were amazing. They actually had a soul and a story. Not to knock the last 3 films but they were absolute fricking dog shit, and in no way added frick all to the overarching story that the first two trilogy’s had set up. People are gonna be begging for Tales to get adapted before they continue the Rey/Ren story. Take that to the bank.
