I'll admit that it's not the worst thing written, but it's pretty terrible overall. It doesn't necessarily deserve the piled on hate it gets, but most people criticizing it have valid criticisms against it.

Nah, frick that. I saw the first two movies when I picked up the first book. I genuinely liked the first movie despite it being campy. I usually read at least the first chapter of a book completely but couldn’t go on after two pages because the writing was terribly cringeworthy. I have read all kinds of bad books and finished them but that one I couldn‘t
