Pretty much this, it was a harmless, fun movie that had good moments. You'll watch it and have a positive experience, but you'll forget about it in a week.
The problem is that still makes it one of the best movies in the DCU, which is pretty sad. Aquaman was good, the first Wonder Woman was good, the rest of it is complete garbage.
I'm starting to think nobody on Cinemaphile likes or wants to talk about anything anymore. It's always "frick the corporations", "literally who and why should I care", or "stop shilling your shitty cartoon/comic".
Bah it’s a very accurate depiction of Cinemaphile as well. The only type of conversation allowed now is to shit on everything no matter how arbitrary and inane the reason is. And if you don’t agree you’re a shill or the creator trying to defend their self-insert.
>I'm starting to think nobody on Cinemaphile likes or wants to talk about anything anymore.
Aquaman is part of a dead franchise that is getting rebooted. And most of Cinemaphile only want to talk about coomer stuff, rage bait, culture wars or viral trends. Even if you post something that was actually good (and this movie isn't) no one would care.
I thought it was bad but still fun. Same ballpark as Black Adam basically, maybe a little better because of Orm and Arthur. But also worse because YAM2 had shit acting... most of the humor falls flat for me too. Funniest bit involved running.
No .
does aquababy die?
No .
Whatever happened to the amber heard situation, what haolened to Mera in this movie?
It seems like she did indeed have a lot of her scenes cut - but I think that actually worked tbh! Whenever she does show up, she's got some kind of action going on. With a few brief exceptions. Apparently her scenes were cut due to poor chemistry with Momoa, and when you see what is and isn't in the movie, that checks out. There are no scenes dedicated to her and Arthur talking, which is what people would've complained about anyway.
Chris Stuckman said Flash was better.
Flash was pretty good, so I understand that. I know people are saying it's terrible because of Ezra Miller or the speedforce CGI, but come on. Most critics and audiences liked it. There's no reason to discuss the movie like it's objectively bad.
They turned it into a fricking slapstick comedy that couldn’t even take its own action seriously. It’s more silly than Shazam 2. Frick these homosexual directors who refuse to make any comic movies without constant comedy or levity.
According to the leaks no. It was originally going to happen but test audiences hated it and there's not going to be a 3 so they wanted to end it on a high note. I'm going to see it tomorrow and if there's a thread I post what happens.

That's just one bit that can be easily glossed over. Beside, he is not really making a reveal like in IM, he is just parading his already known title. I like that he is finally making his people come in the open, though.
Flash, on the other hand, has Barry basically killing his mother at the end. It's a plot key point that really can not be ignored.

Yes, to fix the whole multiverse and for him to go back to his original timeline. Damn, how the frick did you miss the whole point of the movie?
>Yes, to fix the whole multiverse and for him to go back to his original timeline.
It wasn't his original timeline. He still changed the past to have his father look up at the camera, and his Bruce was now George Clooney instead of Ben Affleck. So you can change the past, just don't have a future version of yourself chase you and then strand you in 2013 the day Zod conveniently shows up!
That movie is fricking stupid.
>Yes, to fix the whole multiverse and for him to go back to his original timeline.
I didn't say he didn't act heroically, but as an ending, I think it sucks.
Never said he was wrong to do so. I simply much prefer the far more optimistic conclusion of Aquaman 2.
You know what, I'm cool with that. If the DCEU were continuing, might have been for the best. As it is, a happy ending is cool. Might be worth streaming this later.
You got me. I'm a eight armed israeli reptilian shape-shifter making $400k a year from Blackrock to shitpost on Cinemaphile. Pizza gate, Epstien, the 2020 "insurrection", Chainsawman, Peridot posting, /mlp/, /dbs/, all me. Why do I do it? Warner and Disney movies brainwash you so that when I post certain key phrases anons will post BLACKED porn on /gif/ or question if they should cut off their dicks. Good luck doing anything about it as only people who can see through my ruse, such as yourself, can see my post.
You know the kind of OP I hate seeing on Cinemaphile
The ones that start with "What do we think of..." A sheepeeesh starter by someone who need to know other people's opinion before making his own. At least this thread start with OP openly admiring he liked the movie.
>That's a nice change >change
"that was surprisingly decent / good" is the standard phrase shills use when they know their movie is garbage so they try to push the "it's just some dumb fun flick" narrative instead.
We have been seeing this for years, it's insulting that they think it would still work.
>"that was surprisingly decent / good" is the standard phrase shills
It's just something people regularly say, anon. That's the reason you have been seeing it. Take your meds. At least he is giving his opinion on it.
People like you must not watch television, go on any other site but this one or leave your apartment. This shit has been getting pushed everywhere. Let alone if you actually posted here regularly you’d also have seen it a lot.
So either you live under a rock or are just completely moronic.
>Anyone else think the fate of Manta's henchwoman and the crew of the Stingray was kind of dark?
Considering how a whales call can make organs explode, they got off easy
Unironically Mera's scenes were the only good thing about the movie which its a shame because she is barely in it. Also we got a surprising amount of nice cleavage shots in her few scenes
too bad Aqua2 screams "throwaway sequel" even if you ignore the whole reboot thing.
I honestly believe WB should stop with the standalone DC movies and just make giant Justice League crossovers, even if the movie was entertaining it still takes place in Aquaman's boring side of the dc world.
Marvel should start doing this as well, Avengers movies for theatres, standalone character movies for D+ or just another 6 episode series.
I understand that this movie was going to be shit, I understand that it’s the last movie in a now dead franchise, but frick this movie for once again wasting Manta.
Credits rolling. Gotta be honest it wasn't as bad as I was expecting. Been hearing for months about how terrible it supposedly is from test screenings etc. it wasnt that good either but I was expecting a real disaster I suppose. Manta sucks which sucks because he should have been the real draw and was cool in 1. A lot of the movie is just Naruto and Sasuke I mean Aquaman and Orm hanging out and battle after battle. That's one positive I think, there's a lot of action scenes and they're not bad at all imo. Wonder what Mera would have done if Heard hadn't got canned I know they cut her stuff but I wonder what exactly
Pretty much. If there was going to be an Aquaman 3 he'd be there but that's not happening. I laughed so hard when I saw his plan to get back at Aquaman was to cause global warming. Classic Manta.
>Manta is holding for dear life. >Aquaman stares at him, gives him a hand >Never. >Manta let's go and kills himself >Aquaman just stands there not giving a damn while we can see how Manta breaks his back while falling
Both hilarious and intense, I can see Wan tried to pull a Sam Raimi here but it didn't look quite right and just ended up feeling weird.
Slightly disappointing. Not recommended.
Action scenes weren't satisfying. Some fights between important characters end in an instant. No epic battle scene like in the previous film.
Aquaman talks and acts like a 10-year-old boy.
The humour is for children.
0 depth.
It isn't. Shills will use copes like "it's fun" and "it's like a saturday morning cartoon!" to try to convince other morons to see this shitheap. Thankfully normies are waking up and aren't seeing this movie.
>True villain gets wasted in 5 seconds >Post credits scene has a joke based on an earlier scene in the movie
I’m glad they went with that with the dceu ending or not, I’m tired of literally whos showing up at the end of the movie with no payoff
i dont want to be a know it all but some cultures actually do eat crickets and roaches so i didnt find it out of the ordinary whereas everyone in my theater reacted how i assume the director wanted
It's kind of weird that the movie is going with a Global Warming thematic, but the plot make so that it's not due to industrial abuse of fossil fuels, but is caused by ancient Atlantean forbidden energy source used by a single villain.
I still don't understand it, all these years later. What was so bad about Man Vs Steel? It feels like all these stupid old Boomers and Gen X-ers b***h about is how it's not a light-hearted action flick where Superman saves everyone like the movies they grew up with. But the movie is about a novice Superman faced with the last legacy of Krypton trying to preserve the Earth in his first real superheroic battle; why would he be able to stop people from dying in Metropolis or small-town Kansas? It would be stupidly contrived if he was everywhere saving everyone.
I can understand, and not agree with, the criticism about his not saving Pa Kent, but basically that happened and Clark spent his adult life trying to atone for that mistake by saving random strangers here and there. It's part of his actual character arc.
>What was so bad about Man of Steel
Clark wasn't a human in that movie (or BvS, or Justice League), he was written as an alien weirdo who barely spoke. No one wants to follow a character with no agency or opinions. That was Zack the Hack's biggest mistake, using Supes for action fodder only instead of creating a character people liked. Even giant butthole characters like Tony Soprano are still likable to the audience.

This. You need only compare the animated characters/films/shows going on at the exact same time to see the problem with the DCEU version of Superman. What a waste of money, Cavill, and ability to do the effects more convincingly that ever:
>It feels like all these stupid old Boomers and Gen X-ers b***h about is how it's not a light-hearted action flick where Superman saves everyone like the movies they grew up with.
I'm so sick of this rote regurgitated strawman NPC 'opinion'. Nobody expected a CURRENT YEAR Superman to be exactly like that, and an update/change/moderisation would have been welcomed if it wasn't boring/moronic cuck shit or otherwise violate the core character/dynamics for not good justification or payoff. "Goody two-shoes" Superman was never really a thing - in the way you seem to think it was anyway:
>Frick you Dad, frick Krypton, frick my responsibilities, the consequences, and time-and-fricking-space itself, just because Lois
That's closer to Injustice-Joker-killing-tyrant than you give it credit. Same as in that animated clip, Superman's problem is similar to being 'Bruce Almighty', being God isn't as easy as it looks. Snyder/Nolan et al only paid tell-don't-show lip-service to it after promising that theme because they're fricking hacks. I was ready to eat that shit up if it was good. My 70 year old father, a huge life-long Supermangay, was too. All the bullshit about Superman being uninteresting because of his power level are just excuses for talentless writers.
It's been dead since Man of Steel.
This. It's all been shit - especially the Snydergay garbage. The Costner scene is just a microcosm of the problem. All hifalutin fake pseudo-drama with no actual substance. Like I'm supposed to thing something dramaic happened because the score told me it did. Frick off.
>What was so bad about Man Vs Steel?
It was Superman without the heart central to the character. Pa Kent was done dirty with a moronic death scene and the fights reveled too much in the destruction porn. Superman killing Zod was also moronic, set a bad tone for everything else down the line. Superman fans don't want some gay ass realistic deconstruction of Superman, we want fricking Superman. At the very least you don't want the stakes to be so high and the tone so dour for the fricking intro movie. Even then, the movie wasn't the worst thing. It was entirely salvageable as a start for a cinematic universe if someone competent was in charge and did some substantial course correction. Unfortunately, Snyder is a moron and doubled down on everything bad about that movie
you know what? I'll take your word for it so I don't have to watch it
Same, thanks for saving me the time OP
Aquashilling backfiring
I liked it.

It was pretty comfy they b***hed out on killing the dad and baby. Manta and his goons were actual threats 6/10.

how was Black manta? i thought they portrayed him very well on the first movie
Bretty good, actor did a good job portraying a schizo who wanted nothing but revenge.

these three phrases and variations on them could be added to the spam filter and it'd improve this board so much for like five minutes
>That's a nice change
>change
"that was surprisingly decent / good" is the standard phrase shills use when they know their movie is garbage so they try to push the "it's just some dumb fun flick" narrative instead.
We have been seeing this for years, it's insulting that they think it would still work.
>"that was surprisingly decent / good" is the standard phrase shills
It's just something people regularly say, anon. That's the reason you have been seeing it. Take your meds. At least he is giving his opinion on it.
Look, the marketing budget for this movie is like 15 bucks. They're just trying to make a living
I never even knew it released. Was there even marketing for this? I'm starting to think it was set to bomb
People like you must not watch television, go on any other site but this one or leave your apartment. This shit has been getting pushed everywhere. Let alone if you actually posted here regularly you’d also have seen it a lot.
So either you live under a rock or are just completely moronic.
>Was there even marketing for this?
Yes, this thread is part of it.
>This was surprisingly decent? Maybe even good.
The classic DCfan cope. Been used for every DC movie since Wonder Woman 1984.
Since Man of Steel really.
is it out already?
It was a disaster but an entertaining one
Anyone else think the fate of Manta's henchwoman and the crew of the Stingray was kind of dark?
Qrd?
Black Jack is in the movie?
She was. The sexiest henchwoman I have seen in a while.
She dead, now.
>Anyone else think the fate of Manta's henchwoman and the crew of the Stingray was kind of dark?
Considering how a whales call can make organs explode, they got off easy
Unironically Mera's scenes were the only good thing about the movie which its a shame because she is barely in it. Also we got a surprising amount of nice cleavage shots in her few scenes
overall good action movie
>Said the same thing about the Flash, Shazam 2, and Blue Beetle.
BB was the only one that was good. Any celeb that shilled for Flash should never know peace.
BB also sucked anon.
>BB was the only one that was good.
Blue Balls sucked balls...
too bad Aqua2 screams "throwaway sequel" even if you ignore the whole reboot thing.
Unsurprisingly, Cinemaphile standards for capeshit are below fecal matter. Thank god this shitty half-assed attempt of a universe is dead.
I understand that this movie was going to be shit, I understand that it’s the last movie in a now dead franchise, but frick this movie for once again wasting Manta.
>”First you steal your brothers throne, then you steal his WEAPON?! Aquaman! Shame on you!”
At least we got a decent Manta before the DCEU finally crashed and burned.
Asking the important question here
Does Black Manta kill that baby, yes or no?
The only good guys that die are some Atlantean red shirts.
omw to the theater right now bros. hope it's hype
Apparently, children under 12 are giving this movie 4 stars. General audiences' opinion, however, is pretty mixed.
What's the poo-jeet consensus?
James Wan is the only real director who makes super hero movies since Nolan
I'm sure the movie is fine
>manta doesn't kill the baby
I want a refund
It wouldn't fit. The "hero's darkest hour" works best for the middle movie of a trilogy.
>A lot of the movie is just Naruto and Sasuke I mean Aquaman and Orm
Orm even does the Naruto run.
It's the Sonic run, zoom zoom
I reject your reality, boomer.
>running to Cinemaphile before even leaving the theater
you have a problem
We are anon's friends, you meanie
>running to Cinemaphile before even leaving the theater
you are the solution.
>that empty on friday night
movies are dead or your flyover state is
People didn't stay for the credits. My theater was 75% full during the movie. Also people clapped when it ended
>inb4 do burgers really
anyone else wanna talk about asian waifu?
Yes
she was so cute and demanding. i love her
She got an abrupt dead.
>Aquaman gets to keep both his parents and his wife and kid.
>Black Manta dies
Well shit
Pretty much. If there was going to be an Aquaman 3 he'd be there but that's not happening. I laughed so hard when I saw his plan to get back at Aquaman was to cause global warming. Classic Manta.
>Manta is holding for dear life.
>Aquaman stares at him, gives him a hand
>Never.
>Manta let's go and kills himself
>Aquaman just stands there not giving a damn while we can see how Manta breaks his back while falling
Both hilarious and intense, I can see Wan tried to pull a Sam Raimi here but it didn't look quite right and just ended up feeling weird.
Now what if we swapped actors?
Slightly disappointing. Not recommended.
Action scenes weren't satisfying. Some fights between important characters end in an instant. No epic battle scene like in the previous film.
Aquaman talks and acts like a 10-year-old boy.
The humour is for children.
0 depth.
IS THE RUMOR TRUE THAT IT IS TONALY CLOSE TO ADAM WEST OR WW84???
Yes
It's actually fun and non-boring to watch so I wouldn't really compare it to WW84.
>made 30% less than the Marvels on previews
oh
How do the Atlantians poop under water? Wouldn't the poop just float up instead of into a toilet? How do you flush an underwater toilet?
>Doesn't know how to use the 3 shells
You gotta watch the Mera shitting scene to see that, Anon
You gotta be shillin' me.
There's no way this shit is watchable surely.
It isn't. Shills will use copes like "it's fun" and "it's like a saturday morning cartoon!" to try to convince other morons to see this shitheap. Thankfully normies are waking up and aren't seeing this movie.
What's wrong with it?
It was made.
What did Aquaman do to you?
He passed out drunk in my yard
Should have said swimming pool dumbass.
>missed opportunity
It's directed by the same guy who made Aquaman 1. If you liked the first one, you'll like this one too.
it lost surprise effect from the first movie.
MILF Mera was the only good thing about the movie
>True villain gets wasted in 5 seconds
>Post credits scene has a joke based on an earlier scene in the movie
I’m glad they went with that with the dceu ending or not, I’m tired of literally whos showing up at the end of the movie with no payoff
Based how Patrick Wilson opened and closed the DC Snyderverse
i dont want to be a know it all but some cultures actually do eat crickets and roaches so i didnt find it out of the ordinary whereas everyone in my theater reacted how i assume the director wanted
Snydertards are seething over Aquaman being the final DCEU movie
Never been fan of the Snyderverse, but I like the Aquaman movie a lot. I liked this one too.
If I enjoyed the first movie, will I probably like this one?
yes
Yes.
Yes
It's kind of weird that the movie is going with a Global Warming thematic, but the plot make so that it's not due to industrial abuse of fossil fuels, but is caused by ancient Atlantean forbidden energy source used by a single villain.
I still can't the DCEU is over
It's been dead since Man of Steel.
A2 is basically a live-action version of the Superfriends Aquaman
Not really?
I'm glad the brine king got more screentime. Everyone else may forget him but I won't
It basically rushed a lot of things that should have been properly established like Batman and Wonder Woman.
They should've swapped the leading men.
This movie lacked zestiness. They should have fired Amber and hired Johnathan Majors, then it would have had maximum zest.
Am I on Cinemaphile? Why are we talking about capeshit movie? SAGE
Lurk more.
Comics adaptation has always been a Cinemaphile topic.
