Anyone watch the new transformers movie? I'm not even going to talk about the race bating they sprinkled at the start. That's whatever. They just put that shit in movies to get people to tweet. Whatever. Frick them, etc.
More importantly...does anyone have a gif of arcee's ass walking early in the movie?
I can tell you why she is always flipping and jumping...her default walk has her hips and ass gyrate like Chel. She has a Chel like walk animation...
I really won't be surprised if it's cut before the blu ray hits. It's already removed by the end. I'm guessing they forgot to remove it from the first half of the film because of the jumps and flips.
Anyone have an animation of this? It's from very early in the film
>Anyone watch the new transformers movie?
Only following the new comic right now, movies always look like ass imo.
What are your thoughts of the current lineup? What do you think the decepticon one will be?
Probably as generic as that of the autobots. I take what I get and I think the comics will be decently written thanks to Skybound, but I won't expect just a single surprise or any character to appear that isn't one of the standard same ten bots that are the mains in every TF story. There is usually the occasional odd ball like Cliffjumper here, but they are never surprising or rare guests either. Might be that the Cons will have their own token female but honestly I never like them.
Yeah, I expect a female Decepticon to be forced in the cast. What I'm curious about is what their alt modes will be. Megatron is 100% gonna be a tank, but what about Soundwave? I doubt he will be a cassette player.
>I expect a female Decepticon to be forced in the cast
I'm fine with this. The more fembots the better
And yet I bet you didn't read IDW2
Don't care, make her cute so I can draw porn of her. That's all I want
>needs them to be cute to draw porn
small time
You posted an atrocity from Prime your taste is shit
IDW2 Flamewar makes me act unwise
IDW2 had so many good fembots. Finally a series that didn't just rely on the token or annoying nerd girls like Hashtag. Sadly I doubt that we will ever get this again. I take that over another genderbent Skywarp or nagging wife Elita.
It wasn't afraid to kill them either, RIP Roulette.
I mean sure, there's a non zero chance she will be good. Do you have a particular fembot you want to appear?
I accept
I remember there a another version of this anybody have it
>but what about Soundwave?
They should just do the Earthspark thing and have him be a stealth jet.
As for the fem con, there are lots to choose from these days. Heck they might even use Skywarp.
> Skywarp
> When there already is Slipstream
I'm 100% behind that Soundwave altmode, but femSkywarp is moronic.
I know it is. But in Skywarp's two most recent cartoon depictions, both times it was as a girl. In Cyberverse she was basically a stand-in for Slipstream (and then didn't even talk despite getting a unique design), then in Earthspark she is given a more prominent role even having a personality similar to Slipstream.
I wouldn't be surprised if she showed up in the new comics now as a girl.
>I wouldn't be surprised if she showed up in the new comics now as a girl.
I doubt it, the comic looks 100% G1.
>They should just do the Earthspark thing and have him be a stealth jet.
why not combine him and BB from Beast Wars 2? And he is a stand alone and not a combiner with star scream? Or turn the tapes into minicons that are power ups that peg into his stealth jet form?
I agree with Stealth jet Soundwave, only if he has the Sassy DJ character he had in Cybertron
>I take what I get and I think the comics will be decently written thanks to Skybound
How likely is it to fall into IDW's queer shit though?
No idea, Skybound has prominent gay characters if that's what you call "queer".
My actual worry is boredom. I cannot get excited over stories I have seen a billion times already and late war Earth stuff with american president count as such. The only interesting part so far are the aliens from Void Rivals, but who knows if aliens and space stuff in general will stay relevant once the actual TF comic starts. Would be cool if they would land on a futuristic Earth for a change, but I am not hoping for anything new or interesting until I see proof that hints otherwise. Not interested in any of the bot characters we have seen so far either.
I thought Arcee had a cleavage and boobs, from the thumbnail
>Based small team dynamic
>Underrated mad scientist duo and hot head that quickly got pushed aside/killed off in all media they're in.
>An Arcee that bare minimum should not be an angsty trannie.
I'm excited.
I wonder where the current leaked copy of rise of the beasts is from. China maybe?
Because all those ass walking shots are cut from the film that is online.
Like...I just watched this. She walks away from the camera and her hips gyrate. These segments are gone from the copy on 123movies
No wonder the movie failed. Why the frick did they change the design from the first movie? That design was literally perfect
>Why the frick did they change the design from the first movie?
sell more toys.
>Why the frick did they change the design from the first movie? That design was literally perfect
first one had a better body, new one has a better head for kissing, sex, etc. bumbleebee arcee doesn't even look like she has lips
That looks horrible. Like a fire victim with burned face and lots of plastic surgery above. The one on the bottom on the other side looks disgusting AND moronic.
Please don't make the transformers into blowup sex dolls.
>Like...I just watched this. She walks away from the camera and her hips gyrate. These segments are gone from the copy on 123movies
Is this some stealth marketing ploy to get people into theaters just to see the robutt
No, you guys don’t understand, I physically NEED a metal version of this that transforms between both different modes.
eh, I kind of see what you mean, it is dark as frick on this rip but it's prominent in that early scene, front/rear shots but the same walk cycle about 1:52 in daylight
honestly she walks like a dude who's trying too hard to pass, or a track athlete who's trying to get the cameras on her ass instead of her manly manly waist and shoulders; some dudes walk that way because they're still self conscious about their dicks
you have moderate to good taste in traps tho OP
>EDITED FOR COPYRIGHT REASONS
Arcee looked great. One of the few highlights along with Mirage and Bumblebee. As with most of these movies, too much human shit, too many bots to focus enough time on any of them, and too many of the other classic characters got overly redesigned. Still one of the better of the 7 or so movies we've had and a GI Joe crossover could be fun.
>Arcee looked great. One of the few highlights along with Mirage and Bumblebee.
Arcee was great. Other than being a little try hard with her posing and flipping, she was perfect.
Mirage was almost perfect...if he was named Jazz. There was zero reason for that name change. He was Jazz for everything that wasn't that one hologram. Did they think giving the black voiced car to the black kid would have been too on the nose? I know it shouldn't bother me, but shit.
Bumblebee was mostly ok. But also kind of felt added in after the movie was complete. Like he wasnt in the first draft? He doesn't do much. Then is gone for most of the movie. Then has that last bit out of nowhere at the end. Not that big of a deal overall. Not like the old cartoons haven't had similar dumb shit. Minor dumb shit as the franchise goes.
Prime was kind of out of character in his distrust and not liking humans. But other than that was ok.
The beasts wars guys didnt get enough screen time. I never really got a feel for them. They were ok, but I feel we got shafted. It would have really sucked to have loved characters like rhinox or cheetah and paid to have seen them. I'd been pissed.
I guess scourge was ok. Poor mans galvatron I guess. Kind of felt like a combination of the animated Lockdown and black convoy. Could have used more development. Their motivation, other than gifts from a god, was never really made clear.
>Mirage was almost perfect...if he was named Jazz.
This is how you'd feel without having seen the movie, but Mirage is too hotheaded and inexperienced to be Jazz, honestly he's more of a Bumblebee type character, except unlike Bumblebee, he was actually endearing.
I usually don't like Mirages but from what I hear he seems to be the high point of the movie. He gets lots of art as well so I assume they did one thing right at least.
ROTB-Mirage is as similar to the existing Mirages as much as TLK Hot Rod was to G1 Hot Rod. It's just a name.
G1 Mirage is an old rich dude, so personality isn't really enough to claim it matches.
I paid to see Cheetor and Rhinox…
I wasn’t happy leaving the theater
>I paid to see Cheetor and Rhinox…
>I wasn’t happy leaving the theater
I bet you weren't. Beast wars fans got done wrong. Primal only transforms for a little bit. Dont get to see air razor's alt form. Rhinox doesnt talk. Cheetor has some nothing lines.
Really, the only people this movie might have been for was Arcee fans, and even then, it sounds like a lot of her dialog was cut because of negatively fans were reacting to wheeljack (why didn't they just change his name in editing? No one gave a shit about a van bot. They just didn't like his name)
>Beast wars fans got done wrong
Yes insultingly, I haven't watched the last two transformers movies I only saw this one because of the maximals and they didn't even need to be in the frickin movie at all
I'm done with this franchise 16 years of the same boring shit the treatment of the maximals was the same as the depiction of Godzilla 98 just give them the same names of the beloved characters but barely make them resemble the source material and add none of the personality or traits that the fans know and love rinse and repeat .
>Anyone watch the new transformers movie?
Yep, really enjoyed it personally but i'd give it a critical 6-7/10
agree on the BW screentime and lack of Scourge development, Mirage disagree, certainly has some Jazz, less than you think though, but honestly part of why I liked him was cause he was different, honestly what the frick did G1 do except be homesick during the 3-parter and then get his ass hypnotized by Bombshell in another?
>As with most of these movies, too much human shit
though if you ask me some of it was the best human shit in ages, meaning the Noah/Chris stuff, literally why did we need Elena, get her outta here
>literally why did we need Elena, get her outta here
i dunno sex appeal
I guess she was cute.
i love women with lips like hers
I just dont get it though like why even change his design?
Supposedly he was closer to being just movie Ironhide and felt redundant in the movie so instead they shifted his direction into "fricking nerd".
I really think it’s stupid that the Production Team thinks they can only use the same 10 to 12 Autobot for the newer stuff, they’re are are so many Transformers why don’t you just make this Wheeljack either an OC or one that hasn’t had frickiny anything done with them recently, honestly if they had turned Pablo into Beachcomber like some anons in this thread said I don’t think fans wouldn’t have cared too much, maybe have a few slight changes with the design like color and shades wise.
>These waves are a bummer man.
I wonder if when we are old they will release super box sets that have these lost versions of films. Like the ugly sonic cut.
Sure it won't just be extra features on the home release?
You tell me. Is the ugly sonic cut on the DVD?
I dunno. I didn't buy it. But I remember DVDs when I was a kid had lots of things about the development of the movie with things like storyboards, early animation tests, deleted scenes, and the like.
>literally why did we need Elena
I liked her. At worst she took a lot from what could have been wheeljack characterization.
I feel the main weakness of the movie is you can tell a lot of content was cut even if you weren't keeping up with all the production shit.
Elena was kinda likeable.
Elena's habit of singing when anxious could have lead to a nice little bonding moment between her and Bee, who learned to express himself with music. It could have shown to Prime that humans and robots have certain things in common and can get along even in dire situations, helping him get over his dislike of humans and giving Elena more of a purpose. Too bad Bee was dead for most of the movie.
>Did they think giving the black voiced car to the black kid would have been too on the nose?
So instead they had Mirage talk like a fricking wigger? Top fricking kek.
found one of them. Too dark on the camera copy online.
This is going to be a pretty popular gif when the blu or a better copy is hits the web
found the other one.
Lord, this theater camera copy online sucks. Everything is too dark
Anyone here thinks that Mirage is Hot Rod? I mean at the end of the movie, where Mirage is revived, he's all orange.
>Anyone here thinks that Mirage is Hot Rod?
could be. The live action movies have never given a shit about the lore of older shows. Mother fricker could become ultra magnus if the right manager gets a fly up his ass
A lot of Transformers media outside of the comics likes to use the same young, brash, turbo-revving archetype but pointedly NOT make it Hot Rod. Mirage in this movie, Smokescreen in TFP. They're scared of using the character, outside of the French version of him in TLK, which was absolutely nothing like Hot Rod.
>The live action movies have never given a shit about the lore of older shows
Which is honestly why this movie was so great, because there's so many nods to the lore that I wouldn't have expected.
Also Hot Shot, and even further back with Cheetor too.
Cyberverse did use Hot Rod in that role and even had him step up and become a leader/main character.
Cyberverse was honestly so much better than I thought it was going to be. It's in my top 5 among the TF shows I've seen.
>Anyone watch the new transformers movie?
I watched the first three and bailed after that. I grew up with Beast Wars, but them shafting the show's VAs for celebs and the director's friends dampened my interest in that. The movie seems very ESG'd, which me actively not want to watch it.
>ESG'd
remind me what this is. I'm visiting from /d/ amd /m/
I visit Cinemaphile somewhat regularly and even I have no idea what it means.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Environmental,_social,_and_corporate_governance
Basically, activist investors finance projects because it suits their worldview. The director of this movie's black, the lead actors are black and brown, one of the writer's black, the composer's black, etc. I find it hard to believe that's all a coincidence.
>Basically, activist investors finance projects because it suits their worldview. The director of this movie's black, the lead actors are black and brown, one of the writer's black, the composer's black, etc. I find it hard to believe that's all a coincidence.
I dont even think its that deep anon. I think they know it will piss people off and get them on twitter.
Pissing nerds off is 100% part of how disney market marvel, star wars, etc. Why not paramount and transformers?
Too bad it ain't working for them.
Didn't work for Ghostbusters. Didn't work for The Little Mermaid. Didn't work for this movie (on track to gross less than Bumblebee).
I hate George Soros
That’s a man
Man, the comics were something else. That, and Starscream winning an election is what got me.
>Starscream winning an election
This was fricking awesome and I am sad we will never get anything like that again. The next ten years of comics will be earth shit again.
>That’s a man
I couldn't care less about the trainwreck that was gender in IDW comics.
I'm here to watch fembot hips gyrate back and forth as they walk
it's a robot alien
Saw it a second time and it started to grow on me. Overall I'd say it was decent, and the best live action film after BB. Sadly most of Arcee scenes got cut, according to leaks she was in a relationship with Pablo and they shared most of their scenes (hence why he isn't that much in the film either)
>Sadly most of Arcee scenes got cut, according to leaks she was in a relationship with Pablo and they shared most of their scenes (hence why he isn't that much in the film either)
maybe we are better off. Web was already pretty sour about them turning wheeljack into a van.
His character was clearly brown adjacent too. Given how much co b***hs about miles and gwen, they'd probably b***hed about arcee with pajeet van too
And no Hasbro, making a joke about Pablo speaking vaguely nonwhite being racist, doesn't prevent you from looking racist for creating him.
hope we get a recolor of pablo with a different head.
I like the idea of having a voltswagon bus transformer but lord do I hate this head
>the main human characters are from New York City, and the entire first third of the movie takes place there
>Rattrap, the Maximal with a Brooklyn accent, isn't even in the movie
>their first encounter with a Maximal is instead Airazor, who wasn't one of the original 4
I swear, whoever was in charge of this movie was moronic. Yeah, I get it, a female hawk Transformer will probably sell more toys than a sarcastic rat. I would have bought one though, even if he got the Rhinox treatment.
Why was Wheeljack even in this movie? There was the battle where Arcee was riding inside of him and that weird joke about racism, but apart from that I can't remember if he actually did anything. It's like they just grabbed an Autobot at random and gave them a South American accent.
They put all their effort into Mirage.
>Why was Wheeljack even in this movie? There was the battle where Arcee was riding inside of him and that weird joke about racism, but apart from that I can't remember if he actually did anything. It's like they just grabbed an Autobot at random and gave them a South American accent.
Also, didn't Wheeljack already die in the films?
He died in bayformers. But this Wheeljack doesn't look like a Wheeljack from Bumblebee's solo movie either.
I thought they were saying Bumblebee takes place in the Bayverse despite that making no sense
>Why was Wheeljack even in this movie? There was the battle where Arcee was riding inside of him and that weird joke about racism, but apart from that I can't remember if he actually did anything. It's like they just grabbed an Autobot at random and gave them a South American accent.
It is weird is it. They could have made him iron hide or ratchet and lost little.
>I swear, whoever was in charge of this movie was moronic.
The whole film had a sense of general thoughtlessness and random half-ideas thrown in with little reasoning.
Like why do the Maximals refuse to transform until the end? There are energon deposits on Earth like in the Beast Wars show, but they don't affect their robot forms negatively, so they could be in robot mode all the time. They don't need to hide or blend in either, they're giant robotic African animals in South America. It feels like they wanted to hold back on showing the Maximals transforming until the final battle to give them a bigger impact. But that impact is pointless because they change back into beast mode after a couple minutes and we only see short flashes of Cheetor and Rhinox in robot mode. They may as well not even transform. It's not really a big deal but it shows how little they cared.
The final battle is moronic anyway. Stratosphere bails instead of at least trying to put up a fight, and all those Scorponoks and generic grey soldiers spend most of the fight doing nothing in the background instead of attacking the good guys. Again, they wanted the battle to feel big and impactful but they didn't actually try to make it work.
>Why was Wheeljack even in this movie?
They were probably gonna do more with him but his role was trimmed. Perhaps to keep the running time low or perhaps because of the online backlash against his design. If you believe the rumors of the early test screenings, he allegedly had more screen time and lines, including an awkward sex joke with Arcee. Unlike the character Transit, who was deleted from the film entirely, Wheeljack was in too many scenes to be simply cut.
dogshit. Mirage only remembers he has the ability to make illusions at the end of the movie, not when they needed it. Mirage talking to Optimus like a Black person annoyed me, especially the le ebin funny jokes.
I saw a take on Twitter that the nature-loving VW van with eyewear could've easily been made into Beachcomber and think it would've been cool. Someone replied with this mock-up deco for the van and it would've been perfect.
Should be Arcee
fatcee deserves to be dumped in the sea
Maybe she could have found the sub.
> Chubcee
God yes
>I saw a take on Twitter that the nature-loving VW van with eyewear could've easily been made into Beachcomber and think it would've been cool. Someone replied with this mock-up deco for the van and it would've been perfect.
yes, beac comber would have made more sense as a vw van.
I suppose they thought there were already enough white coded transformers.
Not unless those glasses were sunnies and he has a mullet
They suggested that the glasses could've been tinted to make them sunglasses.
>I'm not even going to talk about the race bating they sprinkled at the start. That's whatever. They just put that shit in movies to get people to tweet.
Or, you know, non-white people exist too and sometimes get lead.
Heard that the mc starts b***hing about white people in the opening act, is this true?
It was the mc’s mom, it’s barely much of an issue
To you
>Heard that the mc starts b***hing about white people in the opening act, is this true?
yeah, first 40 minutes of the movie is filled with it. Unfortunate because the directing and editing is tighter on teh first half of the movie.
I am very much into robot girls including very inhuman ones and even past versions of Arcee but this version does nothing for me.
What's it even about? Transformers as a brand has been trying real hard to get me to stop caring about it, I don't really collect much anymore and only saw Bumblebee after a DVD rip was out. I haven't even seen a trailer, I just know they have some BW guys who look like the dumb dinos in AoE.
Same, they keep trying to be high stakes without any characters to ground me. I don't care if the world is going to end that world doesn't have anything I like.
Not him but I unironically wish they would drop those apocalyptic threats already. I fear more about the safety of individual characters that I care about than another world I know nothing about. The death of 8 billion people is just a number, it will never be as personal and impactful as the death of a single beloved character.
Besides that it's overused. Every single TF story seems to have that shit. They could come up with something unique already.
Bumblebee was good for that at least, the climax is "stop the bad robots from calling home". Bumblebee also had Shatter and I liked her, I think the first decepticon in any of these films I've felt anything over.
Completely agree. This is why the first two Bay movies are the only ones that anyone says have anything good, Optimus and Megatron, the ones who are the most fleshed out, nearly die and you feel it. They matter to the setting but they also matter to us the viewer.
There's no pay of though and gradually things matter less and less and despite how much Nitro Zeus gets meme's characters keep being added just to get killed off and they mean nothing.
Nitro Zeus sounds like a fricking Jaeger name not a transformer.
t.-Enrique.
>middle finger
>Besides that it's overused. Every single TF story seems to have that shit. They could come up with something unique already.
I can think of a few premises with lesser stakes off the top of my head, but not that many:
> More E.T. like in BB with one or several Transformers being stranded on Earth and trying to go home
> Post-war setting where the bad guys are scheming to spark another conflict that will tear Cybertronians apart all over again
> Transformers on a rescue mission (think Last Stand of the Wreckers if you want)
> The Transformers are having a tournament (race, battle, both?)
> Autobot Academy (basically Rescue Bots but action-oriented, and the heroes won't save Cybertron overnight cos they're all rookies)
> Buddy cop on Earth or Cybertron, catching criminals
You could probably mix some of those without going overly bombastic
> Buddy cop on Earth or Cybertron, catching criminals
That would have been pretty cash.
That would be perfect for a Bot like Prowl or Strongarm. Hell, the Movies made Barricade iconic so he could probably be a great villain for it, possibly even a good fake out to a real villain if you wanted.
Sounds like something that should have been a G1 episode.
I mean it’s basically that episode of Animated with Ratchet and Fanzone, and that’s probably one of the best uses of a Human Character in Transformers.
that it's overused. Every single TF story seems to have that shit. They could come up with something unique already.

They could also just make a movie about transformers doing alien space shit. There is a giant span of time before megatron and after galvatron for them to pull from. There is also a giant span of time where other transformers were doing other random stuff in space while megatron and prime were on earth. There is also the war from the rise of tMegatron to the point that they leave cybertron for earth.
BUT we'll probably never get that in a movie because Bay set the tone that Transformers are a disaster event happening to Humans. Movie goers would not know what to do with a star wars or star trek or space horror like movie with nothing but cg robots.
I dont think the average movie goer wants to pay 12 to 15 to see two hours of alien robots doing things
>I dont think the average movie goer wants to pay 12 to 15 to see two hours of alien robots doing things
Paramount needs to stop with the live-action movies with actors nobody cares about but who are here anyway to keep the already disproportionate budget from further inflating with CGI. Just make action animated movies and ride the Spiderverse wave - preferablywithout the fake 2D or chompy framerate.
Paramount is doing just that: https://tfwiki.net/wiki/Transformers_One
Of course, the franchise isn't exactly in a position of strength. The September release suggests they aren't expecting the world.
I liked that by the end of RotB almost nobody knew the Transformers existed though. Yes they faced a world threat but we didn't have to watch carnage of busy cities being destroyed and people screaming which has been done to death.
That’s also to the movie’s detriment though, the entire finale takes place in a boring CGI Mordor hellscape
Clearly impacted by covid
>What's it even about?
mostly a retread of old cartoon plots. There is a mcguffin both sides want. If the bad guys get it, unicron eats earth. If the good guys get it, magic happy party time for Prime and his buds.
So, pretty much a cut and paste of 20% of the old show where their was a secret thing both sides wanted.
DON'T DATE ROBOTS!
Was AoE the one where the decepticons were drones and big clouds of nano shit that went from robot to vehicle? They called Megatron Galvatron for that one.
Yeah, I just watched that one last week for the first time. I see a lot of hate for it online, but think I actually liked it best out of the other Bay movies.
You like the literal worst movie in the series
I agree that whole Romeo & Juliet law thing was just stupid and that Marky Mark's daughter and her boyfriend were completely useless, but the rest of the movie wasn't bad.
it was terrible in spite of all the human shit
the japanese dub for the movie is STACKED
Tessho Genda - Optimus Prime
Takehito Koyasu - Optimus Primal
Kento Nakajima - Noah
Riisa Naka - Elena
Shingo Fujimori - Mirage
Ai Fairouz - Arcee
Shunsuke Takeuchi - Wheeljack
Wataru Takagi - Cheetor (reprisal from BW and Cyberverse japanese dub)
Takako Honda - Airrazor
Ryoka Yuzuki - Nightbird
Nobuo Tobita - Scourge
Kenta Miyake - Battletrap
Sound Director - Yoshikazu Iwanami
Battletrap is such an odd choice. I won't even be a little hopeful that he turns into a helicopter and jeep simtaniously like the toy.
of course not, he's a nameslap, he's a tow truck but it doesn't matter much if he's not a duocon, he's not super duper important normally to be that much of an issue. less egregious than seeker Blitzwing in Bumblebee.
>Takehito Koyasu - Optimus Primal
Holy shit. But yeah, the JP voices are always great. When I don't like the original ones I always switch to the JP dub.
Everybody should do this if they should ever choose to watch WfC for whatever reason.
the WFC japanese dub is way too fricking good for that project. i really love Hochu Otsuka as Megatron, Kikuko Inoue as Elita and Chafurin as Shockwave, all spetacular casting.
Big whoop do they get some more fun dialogue than the english movie?
You guys do know Koyasu has always been the Japanese voice for Primal, right? He's been playing Primal way longer than he's been Dio
Even in a movie with universally cool shit like transforming giant robots, they GOT to be divisive and take a piss on other groups.
I think a Grand Theft Auto type game with Transformers would be cool. You could be basically a bounty hunter hunting Decepticons disguised as cars. Gettings tips and finding clues. And you have to disguise as a car too. You have to track the Decepticons to an isolated area or trick them to go to one or chase them there, and then you transform and it becomes a mech brawler.
The Decepticons game for DS is somewhat like that.
I like that's she's small enough to fit in a Volkswagen
I thought the part where she’s inside Wheeljack with Noah and Elena was cute
I kinda dig that about the reboot universe characters are smaller and scale better with humans
Wait isn't she to small to be a motorcycle for a human to ride? I didn't watch the movie, she just seems a bit to small you know.
So is the movie flopping? Word is that it's making less money than Bumblebee.
>Brooklyn, where that part of the movie is set, was 40% black in the 1990s, you could literally live in whole neighborhoods where the only people there were black
>>40% black...whole ...only ...people there were black
I don't think math works the way you think it works.
though I guess maybe nyc does work the way you say. I have always heard that plenty of people in NY are as bad as southern hicks about not leaving their home town or talking to other people. Despite how diverse nyc is, I guess maybe it is possible to live there and only know people your own skin color...like some sort of redneck from Mississippi (which is also 40 to 50% black).
>pic
I thought this was a blue board.
>Mom makes a joke about patronizing white people by laughing at jokes because white people love for you laugh at their jokes
It's dumb but it all seems innocuous, like saying white people can't handle spicy food. Nothing as offensive as Skids and Mudflap were
>It's dumb but it all seems innocuous, like saying white people can't handle spicy food. Nothing as offensive as Skids and Mudflap were
I'd been happy if skids and mudflap weren't in that movie either.
Racism in transformers is kind of jarring. Like...I don't need it in any direction. I don't need two racial negative stereotypes like skids or mudflap. I don't need any jokes about what white people or black people or asians or indians etc like.
Like...can we just have giant alien robots?
And if you want to code them as black or indian or whatever, thats fine, but could it not be a possible insult? Like can the asian robot not be good at math and bad with girls? Can the black robot not be a disrespectful frick up? Can the white robot not be a tight ass b***h with a mustache?
I watched it, and it was actually good. Shame it's probably not going to do well enough for them to greenlight another one. Even if it will probably do better than Flash.
The moronic G.I. Joe tease likely did more harm than good since people want to see the bots not some humans and especiallly not ones who only had like one decent movie.
maybe we'll get lucky and the home release/VOD does better. not to mention the toy sales are a big driver for the brand, Protoman had said that the ROTB toy product lines are selling really well and that was like last month. in contrast Earthspark product lines aren't selling well.
> in contrast Earthspark product lines aren't selling well.
Really? Do we have any idea why? Is the show not getting kids into buying them, either due to impressions or diffusion issues, or is the quality just not there? Perhaps RoTB toys are just overshadowing ES products.
I'd assume both. ES has no hype, really; it's already forgotten about.
I was hype for a potential post war story about bots who don't know what to do any more with their lives
Instead we got what we got
The whole point of ES is the Terrans, but I had a feeling when watching season 1 would have been just as interesting without them. In fact, the family shit would just often get in the way and was overrall less interesting. It's a bit of a shame for a series that tried to make room for new characters. However, they are not the sort of characters I was particularly interested in knowing - let alone the they/them freak. A SoL TF show could have been a fresh take, but when there is more going in the background, it starts to feel like another Steven Universe.
I was hoping that Tarantulus being on earth was secretly experimenting and a catalyst for the terrans, considering all the cybertronian and spiderbots everywhere
Toys feel cheap for the price. And the cute ones lack possibility found in similar legacy figs
i think the big issue is the fact it debuts on the Paramount+ streaming service and people aren't gonna subscribe to it just for that. i think the show is fine even if there's a couple of big issues i have with it but i think acessability is the big issue plus the ROTB mainline products just look like better toys as a whole.
it feels "too safe" and too human focused. And personally I feel it skews too young at times.
RID15 was also aimed at a younger audience but I feel ES overdoes it and despite having better action it's more infrequent while in RID15 it was more constant.
I like how nobody has actually responded with a gif or webm of the scene the OP was talking about. Is it really the case that nobody has it?
look up the movie on 123movies or similiar. There is a cam copy. The cam copy is too dark to get a good gif out of.
but if you look at the time stamps for these two posts and watch them
you can make out her hips swaying back and forth.
Its going to suck if they edit this out before we get a blu rip with better lighting.
I said it before and I’ll say it again: I still find it funny how consistent they are with Optimus being a bloodthirsty psycho. Main villain gets his arms ripped off and his face shoved in lava. Optimus looks at Unicron, who is acknowledged as a god in the movie, and screams I WANT YOU TO DIE at him
I mean they killed bee who was practically his son
Is it worth watching for my wife?
I liked Arcee, but she wasn't in it too much
Anyone have a DL link for Cyberverse or Earthspark? I haven't checked out any recent TF series outside the Netflix trilogy.
Fwiw Cyberverse is entirely free on youtube, the whole thing.
I recommend starting on season 2 or even 3 though, season 1 is... really aimed at toddlers. And not in a good or clever way like the original Rescue Bots show; just in a bland and basic, cheap way.
I'm pretty sure cyberverse is on netflix an YT
you can skim through season 1 in my opinion
as for Earthspark, don't even bother, go rewatch beast wars or some of the japanese shows
yeah I saw the movie, I always though female shaped transformers were stupid
Unless they transform into a bike or whatnot, slender TF toys generally suck because so many carry enormous backpacks for them to slip inside. Strongarm is the perfect compromise between femininity and bulk that makes for actual possibilities in toy design.
there was a pretty hot doujin with her
Where's the art with her and humans?
She's too busy raping Russell. (They really missed the opportunity to give the kid an Onee-san, like with Daniel and Arcee)
I never watched the show, did the autobots pair up with humans or what?
No, Russel and his dad were basically the only humans ever shown and they rarely even made appearances. How little they involved humans was a great thing in that show even if it did make any city they were in feel like a ghost town sometimes.
>Strongarm is the perfect compromise between femininity and bulk that makes for actual possibilities in toy design.
She's never had a good toy, though.
She still has the Arcee problem where a portion of her car form disappears from the robot model.
BS. Her Warrior class toy is fine. What backpack she has is extremely thin, doesn't hinder her movements and meshes extremely well with her silhouette - you even make the car doors like wings in a way.
She has the whole car hood covering her arms. That's exactly the sort of shit I'm talking about.
That's not an issue for me, but I get that would bother others.
this one is pretty good and shows that it is possible to make her design work as a toy.
what the hell did they do to wheeljack?
if it helps it seems it was received badly enough that apparently they cut most of his lines and most advertisements barely show him.
Imagine the absolute seething Flame Toys would cause if they actually did something like this.
>Imagine the absolute seething Flame Toys would cause if they actually did something like this.
I really wish the trans Twitter community that passes and likes to dress as bawds would tell the ugly hons to stfu everytime they b***h about a hot fictional character
Windblade and Arcee were already extremely humanlike in their designs, so that seems difficult to complain about them doing so. Like the original Windblade toy only her lower legs actually form something on the altmode, and it is shaped like legs instead of airplane.
G1 is the only TF that exists.
A proper take if you stick to s1 and s2. Rescue Bots could kinda fit in, though.
The only good redesign of the movie. Everyone else lacks color or distinct design elements they need. The maximals are too mechanical & Primal should have fur. Not these patches of ugly bare "skin".
burn
Good on soundwave to kill that guy
Blame the G1 fans who kept complaining about how the robot mode design faces didn't look human enough.
what was that transformers series that was like an anime, I think it was on toonami
You are thinking of either Armada, Energon or Cybertron.
>Armada
yeah that was it I loved that shit
Or the first Rid. The one with the firetruck Optimus and Scourge. That was pretty Brave based
RID01 aired on Fox Kids in the US
Oh ok then. Still it is worth a watch if you haven't watched it
actually both of them I didnt realize what rid was till I looked it up, that was quite the blast from the past
Bazinga!
