And even when some shows went back to the older status quo, you'd also get things that explored other time frames or continued onwards. You pretty much can track Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm's entire lives at one point or another. Can't think of another classic cartoon that experimented like that.

Those "little tykes" cartoons where there's a 5-6 year old Pebbles and Bamm Bamm were flashbacks made like a decade after the Pebbles and Bamm Bamm show. This might've been a first, but it's not reasonably different than a Pup Named Scooby Doo or Muppet Babies.
