Are any of the 7th gen Spider-Man games worth playing? I heard Edge of Time sucked, but are Shattered Dimensions, Web of Shadows, or the two games based on the Andrew Garfield movies worth checking out at all?

Spider-Man is a Cinemaphile character, anon.
Web of Shadows
Edge of time and shattered dimensions are fine. The noir stages in edge of time are like the stealth aspects of arkham asylum.
Web of shadows is open world.
All 3 are fine. They're not great, but they don't suck.
I've never played the andrew Garfield ones, or "friend or foe."
Noir stages in shattered dimensions*
I got the two titles mixed up.
Edge of Time takes place in a single office building, its shit, and what they do with Anti-Venom is super disappointing.
I never finished it. You're in that building the whole time??
Edge of Time is good from what I've heard. I heard it was just over hated cause it's not quite as good as it's predecessor, Shattered Dimensions. I heard Web of Shadows has amazing gameplay but entirely skippable story that bogs down the whole thing, and I heard TAS games are just bad.
>I heard Web of Shadows has amazing gameplay
I might try and find a cracked PC version. Do you know how the modding community is for the game?
>Shattered Dimensions
Fun but a very simple game, its really nice that they brought over past VAs for each spidey.
>Edge of time
Its basically just a shorter shattered dimensions with a better plot and more characterization, and only using the very two best vas, but its also much much shorter.
>WOS
The best of the lot gameplay wise, a bit overly dark at times, and the first big case of the sybiote invasion plot in outside media. But a good game. A bit unpolished at times.
>Friend or Foe
A fun game for kids, but nothing more.
>Tasm1 and 2.
Rushed movie tie in games, but open world ones again after moving from that. Plot is shitter than the movies.
It has stronger writing but not any new hooks really.
It has basically modded in all the costumes from anything.
>with a better plot and more characterization
So just watch cutscenes from Edge of Time?
Sure, it does have the spiders actually interacting which shattered dimension doesnt have. And peter david writing rather than slott.
>And peter david writing rather than slott.
Sounds better in the writing aspect already.
And it has josh keaton and barnes interacting constantly.
Shattered Dimensions is fricking amazing, it should be on modern consoles
I know Noir is stealth, but do the other 3 Spider-Men, 616, Ultimate, and 2099 all play differently or are they the same? I hear conflicting things and one is that they play the same and it makes the gameplay repetitive.
I'm having trouble remembering.
They're more similar to each other than the noir parts, but they all have their own thing about them. The art styles are all pretty different, too, and I remember enjoying that.
None of these are great games, but they definitely don't suck; certainly not for spider-man games.
They technically "control" the same but they have different gimmicks and completely different set-pieces that don't follow the same rules.
So while Noir is the only drastically different gameplay of the bunch the game is dynamic enough to stay fresh.
The other three are a similar but ultimate is more “musou”, like dynasty warriors, the other two are more standard beat em up.
Yeah.
Web of Shadows’ story is really weird and a product of its time but it still to this day has by far the best combat system in a Spider-Man game, even better than PS4
Its weird, but the weirdest aspect is the choice system, if you pick all red its a pretty standard characterization for peter really.
>No Spider-Man games on backwards compatibility except for the one NOBODY WANTED
Pain
>No Spider-Man games on backwards compatibility except for the one NOBODY WANTED
Which one?
TASM2, you can play it if you own the dvd
Waste of data, should have been TASM1 at least
They're both bad, but TASM2's swinging is better than 1's. But I'd still rather just not play either.
Well all of them are on PC.
Edge of Time isn't
Web of Shadows is one of my favorites. Decent seinging but god the combat was so much fun, seitching between suits on the fly to change your playstyle was KINO, and the story is very refreshing.
Def reccomend it, only bad parts are game freezing for a few seconds if too much is going on, and the god awful voice acting for Peter
