It has to be pitch black new moon night for the projector to approach(!) blackness and contrast levels the cheapest piece of shit LCD TV would knock out of the park easily
Gonna be a "no" from me
that's not true at all
a 120" 1080 screen mogs any TV
yes, but if the chipset is fricked from improper cooling, you'll have a very expensive paperweight.
if you can get a cheap one they're kind of fun for a while
I found one in a dumpster and had a good 6 months playing games on the bedroom wall before the bulb went out
if the bulb goes out you basically need a new one
or go on eby and buy a replacement for $50 and it takes 5 minutes to change out
you frickin simp
look. a post by someone who doesn't know what the frick he's talking about
buying the specific bulb for your specific projector will cost as much as the projector itself
no, they're $50 on ebay with like $5 shipping moron
I own a high end projector and it looks fricking kino
]
lmao idiot with buyer's remorse trying to rationalize his poor purchases
you need to be honest with yourself
you're moronic. A bulb is miniscule compared to
having a burnt chipset. You're a low energy slack jawed homosexual
They're only worth it if you have room for a huge screen. Any decent modern television will have far greater image quality, so the only thing projectors have going for them is size
If you’re the type of person who cares about the size of the screen and wants to be overwhelmed by the sheer size while watching kino then go ahead anon.
>T. Owns a benq short throw projector
Most kino movie experience I ever had was going over to my friends house to watch The Thing for the first time after he just got a projector
Imo it's pointless if you can't also get comparable sound. Doesn't need to be a Puerto Rican birthday at 3am, but something a little better than 2/3.1
If you're still using your telly's speakers then you need to frick off this thread.
im using my laptop's speakers
Oh, that's alright then, I guess.
>but something a little better than 2/3.1
A cheap 2.1 for home movies is perfectly fine
this
a solid used stereo receiver with tower speakers and a sub fricking rule
Last I checked, it was still ludicrously expensive to get a half decent 4k projector. And then you have the light issues.
If you have the time/money to set up a proper home theatre, I reckon it's worth it. But otherwise, no
which is why you get a top of the line 1080 model
shits cash
idea for a meme:
chad with 4k 80" OLED
normal kids having fun playing games on 40" LCD
drooling pervert watching moe anime an LCD projector
>gigachad watching his 1080p 120" projector with his gf next to him
>chad
>80”
Too small
Just like your peepee
what if I have a DLP projector
>ywn spend the night at your friend's rich grandpa and watch Tarantino movies and play Bad Company 2 on his huge projector screen
If you have a good wall to watch on then yes, its an amazing experience
get a pull down screen or wall mounted screen designed for it numbnuts
its always shithead like you who b***h about things you don't know how to take 20 minutes to set things up properly
>omg why doesn't this look good
You still need a good wall to put the screen on either way
as opposed to a bad wall?
wtf are you even sperging about
bro, please, stop being so combative. i come home from work miserable and im chilling on tv trying to have a conversation
fair enough sad bro
Not everyone has a big enough wall clean of furniture and stuff in the way
I've got tons of large format art and tons of dope mcm furniture
mount a pull down to the ceiling about a foot off the wall and you're set
but I get it you soft handed zoomers would have to hire a guy with basic tools off craigslist to overcharge you for it
yet you have the space for an ugly 75" tv that just sits there looking moronic when it's off
>bro you need a dope airy open space with high ceilings and tons of cool furniture for it to work
Yes.png
some people have things on their walls instead of a barren house lil bro relax
no they're never bright enough and quality sucks
the high end ones are insanely bright
my 1080 system looks better than mid-4k TVs
you're spouting 10 year old opinions and the technology has improved vastly
Yes.
We do fire + outdoor movie night pretty frequently.
>1080p projector
>150 inch PVC screen
>PA speaker
We live pretty far out so there isn't a lot of light pollution either, so it's really great. I usually BBQ or just do hot dogs on the fire while a movie is going.
Thinking about upgrading to a bigger screen. Sure, the picture quality isn't going to be as nice but would be cool to have it bigger than the side of the house lol
