Are the fantastic beasts movies any good? They're on hbo max. There's obviously no hermione so I'm struggling to see how they'll make up for that.

The only reason to watch is KOWALSKI and QUEENIE'S relationship in the first movie, okay?

I watch for hermione. Actually no, I really do enjoy the movies and find them very charming.

There's a woman who loves a total slob unconditionally and even reads his mind. She blatantly leans into her sexuality and pleasing natures because she knows it makes others happy. Surprisingly based fetish for a modern movie.

No they are pretty shit. Everything about the original films that was good is not present in these prequels.

    >comfy castle setting
Now it's a boring high-rise with business men

    >fun childhood friends
Now you get autistic Manchild and the people who he meets by coincidence

    >learning new spells with the gang
Now wands are just guns that fire star wars layers

    Christmas
    >Hanukkah

Consistent world building for a movie set in the 90's
    >diversity is our strength in the 20's

And to top is all off the plot revolves around Ezra Miller's character who everyone insists on calling "boy" despite him clearly looking like an adult. Oh and there's some shit about switching babies the titanic, good luck figuring out what's happening.

Ezra is great in these movies
When I saw he was raping and beating women I watched all of them just for him

      >Everything about the original films that was good is not present in these prequels.
this is the same exact "star wars prequels are shit and nothing like the originals" argument. these movies are not trying to be harry potter, they are their own thing.

The frick are you on, these films desperately try to piggyback on the success of the original films. The final movie is just a side plot point from that franchise. Do tell me what is unique and interesting in these films that isn't related to HP more broadly.

Reading comprehension, the fantastic beasts movies are not trying to be harry potter books/stories/movies. Which is exactly why most people are b***hing and complaining. They are their own variant in the Wizarding World.

            >reading comprehension
Now I can tell I'm talking to a woman

Listen b***h, you made the claim that these films are there own thing, so justify it. The world, characters and plot are all related to the previous films. If it was its own thing than it wouldn't need to rely on the Dumbledore/grindlewald plot from before. So go on explain what is unique about fantastic beasts, it can't be the beasts we saw plenty of those in the previous films too.

Anon theres no children for children to self insert into. Ezra Miller is the only "boy" in them and looks like a grown ass man in the first flick. It even takes place in the 1920s and 1930s. Not as meme worthy as 1980s stranger things shit.

The first was okayish due to the romance aspect, but this was diminished in the second film and non-existent in the third. The producers can blame covid and the depp case for the failure of the third film I guess. In order, I'd grade them a C, D, and F.

    first is legit great
second has absurd script but it's nicely made and watchable
third is completely unwatchable, dropped it after 25 minutes

    >Are the fantastic beasts movies any good?

No, Newt is an autistic walking deus ex machina.

The rest of the cast is largely unlikable or inconsequential.

They are absolutely dire for the most part. There are some cool animals and world building but the plot is diatribe as well as. It's about as modern as you can get as far as films go.
