The first one is great. The rest are hit or miss. By the time deadly hallows was released there was a really dark tonal shift. They feel really disjointed if you marathon them.
Yes. Every single one of the movies is good. I was shocked since I’m 41 and never saw them growing up as I was too old for them. Second one is by far the best one, followed by the first.
Not great. None of the kids can act so the films are all pretty weak. By the time they have grown up the films are just a complete mess, tonally they are a carwreck. The books are kids books. You'll love them if you are a child but if you read them for the first time after age 12 I have no idea how they could be of any interest
I read HP to my kids and it's wonderful also, and everyone from my kids to my wife and my parents and siblings all prefer HP over anything Tolkein wrote. I imagine that probably pretty common, and that homosexuals like you are the outlier
I think people with a lower reading age like Potter more than Tolkein. It shows a lack of intelligence, that's all. My kids were bored by Potter after age 8 or 9 because I don't read mindless trash to them
Yeah it's common because you morons have a 15 second attention span and can't read anything more demanding than YA. You're kind of bragging that you and your family are dumb. That's the only point you are proving. If you genuinely think that Potter is in the same league as Tolkien then you are either a child or a moron
It’s definitely pretty common because people today are thick as pig shit. So, congratulations on proving the point on behalf of your entire genetic line.
>Sorry Ron, money is kind of tight right now, you'll have to go on risking your life every time you use your wand. >Wow! Another new top-of-the-line broom from an anonymous friend!
1, 2, and 4 were the only ones that felt like they took place in a magical world. 3 they were dressing like muggles, and 5-8 dropped all pretense of magic and all spells became firecrackers
The first film is dumb and I'm tired of pretending it's good >they're gonna steal the philosopher's stone? And it's hidden here in this school? >Well the adults are clearly all idiots who don't know what they're doing so us 11/12 yo kids will have to save the day! >Yeah good thing I'm a wicked chess player, a skill that will literally never come up ever again! >Haha we've got you now Voldemort! >Oh so you're saying that if we'd literally done nothing, the enchantments that our legendary headmaster put in place would have prevented you from ever getting the stone? But by me being here, I have accidentally given you a means to succeed? Oh, balls. Well I guess I'm fricked unless some type of deus ex machina solution wanted to rear its head around now and let me win despite my idiocy >...Oh. That was convenient.
Like no wonder Dumbledore acted so moronic going forward. Harry made it perfectly clear that he would frick all of Dumbledore's plan regardless.
None of the early ones were thought out with any long term story or plan other than self contained stories of his adventures at Hogwarts. She tried to retcon it with the 4th book and then fanfics have tried their best but none of it makes sense.
I don't think she ever really had a long-term plan until the 4th book. But the first three are their own separate little stories that have pretty low-stakes considering all the shit that happens from 4-7.
Most people prefer them though because it's a little more grounded and Rowling didn't do much to create a world outside of Hogwarts.

Objectively only the first two are good. But if you have nostalgia there is some charm to the 3rd one and 4th is dogshit but somewhat entertaining. 5-8 are nearing unwatchable with how bad they are.
>Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone
10/10 >Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

it was only one guy who was pushing it hard. he still lurks around and continues to post cringe that goes to page 11 long before replies even hit triple digit s
The 1st two are classics and really nail the whimsical, magical tone. The 3rd is where the movies start to deviate and go a lot darker, but still have enough of the magical tone from the first two that it feels like a solid evolution. After that every movie becomes really generic and teen orientated.
Yes but >first 2 are a bit campy and extremely brittish >3,4,5 a lre peak comfy wizard school adventures >the rest get overly serious and gloomy
Don't bother with the fantastic beast stuff.
HP would have benefited from being a series. The best aspect of it was that it was an isekei.
First three good, rest are shit
Books are a thousand times better and among the greatest children's and/or fantasy literature ever written
I just watched the second one. I found it kinda boring.
Watch them all then go back and watch them again. I had the same feeling the first time. I thought it was the worst film but it’s the best.
First two are great kids films. Feels very magical. Once Azkaban becomes a thing it gets real shit with no chance of recovery.

One day you'll be old enough to enjoy children's lit again, kid
I think he was making a comment about getting older and the yearning of things fantastical, not reading sub-par YA novels.
well you're certainly entitled to your garbage opinion
>unironic potter fan
>berates other for having garbage opinion
m8
yes that is what happened
This is completely right. I read Lord of the Rings to my kids and it is wonderful. Potter just isn't that great
I read HP to my kids and it's wonderful also, and everyone from my kids to my wife and my parents and siblings all prefer HP over anything Tolkein wrote. I imagine that probably pretty common, and that homosexuals like you are the outlier

you're in the center of the bell curve, that's nothing to brag about.
>my kids to my wife and my parents and siblings
What about your wife's boyfriend?
Have fun circle jerking it to HP at the next family gathering.
>Sorry Ron, money is kind of tight right now, you'll have to go on risking your life every time you use your wand.
>Wow! Another new top-of-the-line broom from an anonymous friend!
Just the first two are comfy kino. Goes to shit after that especially when David Yates takes over.
1, 2, and 4 were the only ones that felt like they took place in a magical world. 3 they were dressing like muggles, and 5-8 dropped all pretense of magic and all spells became firecrackers
They're all pretty bad but the early ones have some charm to them.
Luna
Fleur
Hermione
Lavender
Ginny I guess
The high IQ play would be to go for the pajeeta sisters.
Why
Based
I will never not have a crush on her
So many HP threads yesterday and today. You just know these were posted by lonely nerdy girls that own 3 cats.
Well be prepared for when the new HP show teaser drops then
Less so if you didn’t watch them as a kid.
First 3 in my opinion are good. The rest are kinda trash. 4 is only good for the sole purpose of seeing Emma in her physical prime.
>4 is only good for the sole purpose of seeing Emma in her physical prime.
What did he mean by this
You won't regret it unlike 90% of the movies available.
The first film is dumb and I'm tired of pretending it's good

Waited but you're a coward
First four are great. Rest suck dick. Ignore npcs who tell you Prisoner and Goblet are bad.
no. they're worse than the books, and the books are garbage.
Yes
i love her
She has nice breasts.

Where did all the dullestposters go?

Only the first two

2nd movie Hermione is sexo
2>1>4>3>5>8>6>7
you know they started slipping when they stopped wearing school uniforms and just wore regular clothes
I like the third one. It's okay.
