Why just humans? There's other humanoid species in the Star Wars galaxy, with blue skin and head tentacles and etc

A group of humans escaped the THX1138 Earth and found a temporal wormhole to the SW galaxy.

The closest thing we ever got to an explanation on that was there was an officially licensed but non-canon crossover between THX-1138 and Star Wars that stated that the humans from that movie escaped and went back in time and to the Star Wars galaxy and populated it.

It explains why it's "a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away", and why humans have no planet of origin in SW.

Not exactly. Star Wars refers to offshoots of humans as "near-humans" (like the Chiss) that resulted from evolutionary divergence due to environment. Where shit gets crazy are when species start tampering with other species (like the Arkanians or Rakata), or with themselves to the point where they almost stop being related at all (see Duros and Neimoidians). To muddy things even further, cross-speciesism is ludicrously common, or at least simple enough to be regular, which results in things like pic related.

they were a specific red humanoid race before dark side users started larping as them

Canonically derived from the lost humans or something else? Just curious

They were an entirely separate force sensitive race from Korriban that later inter-bred with dark jedi who immigrated and eventually led to the Great Sith Empire. This was, I believe, between 1000-2000 yrs before Knights of the Old Republic takes place.

So with the space herpies retcon they were the original carriers? How do the books handle this sticky subject?

Idk. I wanna say much of that was established in the 90s through the books and comics. After like 2000-2001ish my interest in SW started to wane. And I've surely forgotten more than I remember. I'm actually going back and slowly reading the Thrawn Trilogy comics, as I never read all of it as a kid. I do distinctly remember having a couple books that involved the True Sith.

there was a planned novel called Alien Exodus outright stating this but it was never published. Star Wars humans were descendants of human colonists that passed through a wormhole into the past sending them to a a long time ago...in a galaxy far far away. There were also other references to Lucas works such as THX.

I used to read Wookipedia a lot. As far as I understand it humans just evolved in some planet like all the other species. Nobody knows which one exactly.

    >humanoids like Padme

yeah (legends) deeplore is that the SW Galactic civilization began when human colonists from our far future had a hyperspace malfunction and were sent far in the past to a different galaxy.
All humans and near-humans are descendants of these human colonists. Also potentially all spacefaring civilizations owe their hyperdrive tech to these humans as well.
