Well the kiss was spy shit and yes they used a little sexual tension just for the movie's entertainment value, but I think they were just acknowledging that yes both characters are attractive. What made it good is that it all tied into the movie's theme: Black Widow is being playful about Cap's rigid, stick-in-the-mud nature and his black and white view of morality. Cap starts off by being extremely cagey and closed off around Widow because he mistrusts her and the entire idea of spycraft and people who are willing to accept the morally grey area. Over the course of the picture, they come to trust each other more and work together better because they both come to understand a little bit more of the other person's world view. As far as 'platonic' connections go where male and female characters become 'friends' and 'allies' but without really any love connection, I think it was fairly well executed and a strong point in the movie because the two characters were good foils of one-another w/ regard to the overarching theme.

I agree, and I thought of Widow and Clint as well, but I felt that the Cap/Widow relationship was better realized because it wasn't just implied through dialogue, it was expressly shown and was tied up in the central theme of the movie that established it:

Cap and Widow had a great dynamic in WS and were the obvious romantic partnership moving forward. The idealist/cynic interaction worked and the actors had good chemistry.

Pairing her with Hulk was just Whedon doing his whole meme romance thing he always does.

except they literally set up the Sharon carter relationship for cap IN winter soldier because cap and widow was never a romantic thing. Him coming to trust widow is sort-of proxy for him being able to forgive Sharon for being an undercover shield agent.

She's an emotionally dead superspy. Her relationship with Banner is literally Nick Fury finding a way to put a leash on the fricking Hulk. That's why she was the agent sent to find Banner in the first place. It's why they had a lot of screen time together in The Avengers. It's why right after she kisses Banner in ultron, she pushes him to what would be a fatal fall because she's sorry, but they need the Hulk rn.

Widow and Clint being the ones who have to face down for the soul stone seems like confirmation of this. Clint loves his wife and children "the most" but at that time they are already dead... What does Widow love most? If she could theoretically get the soul stone if Clint were to die, then does that mean she loves him more than Banner?

The Banner thing barely even started before it died again. A fling does not make up for a friend you've had for decades and literally been to war with. Love doesn't always have to be romantic you sperg

It’s only possible between mentor and master and the age gap has to be substantial enough where the male is either no longer interested in romantic affairs or is bound to his family enough to reject anything that could be considered beyond platonic. Single men spending time with any none family women will 100% slide into sexualization and denying it is utter cope. Men and women aren’t meant to form a brotherhood or kinship

stupid, inexperienced men believe that there exists a singular spectrum spanning acquaintance to lover. they believe their position is fluid and is dictated by their actions or lack thereof. as stated earlier, these people are idiots. the truth of the matter is that women decide whether or not a man is a romantic or non-romantic interest very, very quickly and the man is stuck within that category for the rest of their relationship (the exceptions prove the rule to any of you "WELL ACKSHUALLY" morons).

to borrow from a gnome and to put it visually, naive men believe that pursuing a woman is akin to a mountain to climb. the reality is that there are two separate mountains and their respective summits provide distinctly separate rewards.

Alright this is gonna be anecdotal of the highest order, but the only way out is to be willing to distant yourself for long periods of time and work on yourself until she reevaluates you in a different context.

But you're going to have to accept that who she is right now might also become unrecognizable by that time and there's the nonzero possibility she might be taken by someone else by then.

notice how you've said nothing of substance? you could have opted to say nothing and the end result would be identical.

further notice you don't even attempt to adopt the worldview and view it in a good-faith manner (you fail to do so because your brain stops at "X is bad!"). women know if a guy is into them romantically whilst harboring zero reciprocating feelings, why do your thrust all the responsibility onto the man and ignore any potential responsibility for the woman? what do you think happens to men when they're expected to both police male and female dynamics while also having to shoulder the brunt of the negative outcomes? naturally, they're going to become resentful of the responsibility, the lack of accountability for the other side, and take harsher stances.

      [...]
Is it still true for highly traditional women? The ones who do not have any male friend and barely ever a boyfriend.

if your idea of "traditional" aligns with mine then i would say that they TEND to reserve male relationships (outside of familial ones) for ones that are romantically viable but only while the cornerstones for their "traditional" philosophy are intact and relatively present. if, for example, you take a "traditional" woman and move them away from their upbringing (to a college or another state for work) then you should expect some movement away from their original philosophy.

        How to leave friendzone:
Directly tell them you want to frick them.

if you're a dude then ask yourself:
      >would i frick X if she asked?

If you're a girl (ywnbaw) then ask yourself:

IMO the healthiest friendships between a man and a woman are always:

    A: Your gf’s best friend

B: Previous FWB that you still hang out with platonically after either of you got into a serious relationship with someone else

C: your bro’s gf or wife

If your gf’s bff is hot (but still less hot than ur gf) you can maintain a playful flirty vibe that nobody ever takes seriously - this has the added benefit of lowering the guard of your gf and training her to not be jealous.

The C category is goated; ur bro will appreciate that his girl feels included, which can strengthen bonds with ur bro. A bonus is the self-esteem and honor boost you get from rejecting her when she gets drunk & flirty

not at all because other women know what platonic "male friends" are and what their function is. if you're a woman and your boyfriend is simping over another female then that means they are weak enough to be manipulated, the other woman has some level of power over him which is a threat, and shows that your boyfriend THINKS he has a backup plan.

the social proof of a MARRIED man tells you that the guy is well-adjusted enough to maintain a long-term relationship, has a working dick, generates an income, has some level of emotional intelligence, and is probably committed to another person which means that you can flirt and mess around with very little risk.

i think the only way these relationships work is one or both people are gay or if the man is so old they're seen as more of a father figure/mentor. otherwise they're going to frick. heterosexual men and women cannot be friends under 99% of cases. it just doesn't work that way.

Depends. Befriending your buddy's gf who's in a stable relationship is how I made most of my female friends.

They're great at sniffing out red flags and picking up social ques.

    How to leave friendzone:
Directly tell them you want to frick them.
Make it clear your efforts are focused on finding someone that is going to frick you.
Proceed to frick dozens of other women that she knows about.
Otherwise behave as you always have.

A relationship is not supposed to be observed from a third person POV. There's nothing interesting about seeing someone else's primitive desires getting filled.

I've got female friends. I like being around them, they've gotten my back when I needed it and I got theirs. It's pretty simple stuff.

        I'm not, just a volcel.

I guess one benefit of having a platonic relationship with a woman is that you don't have to worry about her loosing attraction to you if you open up to her emotionally.

It is pretty great. I've been able to express my feelings around my friend and do it more safely than I would around anyone who isn't my family. I've done the same for her. She's not using me for money either because she invites me out for drinks and to lunch as much as I invite her. I am very happy to have her a as a friend. She once tried to help me get laid by bringing a girl over to me.

They give the worst advice ever. Don't seek advice or anything like emotional support from female friends.

It's not about advice. It's about empathizing with you and giving you a hug.

if your bro is having a bad day then a little suck-suck to cheer him up is what true friendship is about.
