I'm tired of getting baited to mediocre viewing experiences by high ratings on Letterboxd and IMDB.

Best movie I’ve watched last year was Under the Silver Lake, mogs Oppenheimer
I had to turn silver lake off. It just didn't get my goat up.
Both are complete shit
UTSL is just zoomers first conspiracy movie
UTSL is straight up kino. Part murder mystery, part fantasy, part conspiracy and a lot of wacky fun and hot chicks. If you're not entertained it's because you're a filtered brainlet who needs capeshit to get off.
>capeshit out of nowhere
you just outed yourself as a pretencious spic
This just retold Alive! I didn't notice much difference but I liked the story.
Plenty of okay movies after 2010 and speaking of 2010, that was an alright film. Easier to follow than 2001

Did you not like Society of the Snow? I thought it was great. Very harrowing.
Same. First Netflix acquisition I’ve found engaging in quite a while.
Yes there are, it's not hard to find them actually although they are not as common these days. fricking arrogant crybaby
Silence by Scorcese was pretty good
That's too esoteric for Cinemaphile to talk about
i've seen it hyped a lot on Cinemaphile. i've never watched it because the trailer looked boring, but maybe I should give it a try.
amazing film
gay israelitesus flick
https://www.scaruffi.com/cinema/chro010.html
these are my favorite filmes of the 2010s
you may have seen a lot of them already though
check it out!
I've seen all of them. You have shit taste, hipster homosexual.
great list, unironically. Do I need to rewatch Inside Llewyn Davis? I watched it once and it did absolutely nothing for me, despite all the hype.
for most of these collages, half the movies are actually good/interesting and the other half are only chosen because the poster art looks good
i'm sure this is no different
way to mainstream. wearing north face does not make you an adventurer.
>I'm still here
Is this the one where Casey Affleck shits on his face? Pleb taste/10 regardless
He shits on someone else's face? Or he does a tubgirl?
Brigsby Bear is the only movie with any soul made after 2010
Pig is really good and it has a mid score on IMBD. Certified unironic Cage kino ( Leaving Las Vegas not Face/Off )
I stopped watching almost anything made after 2012 and it's been way better.
Would you have eaten the human flesh to survive?
I think you need to be in the situation to know if you'd do it. When you can feel yourself dying from starvation, your thought process changes a lot.
One thing I really liked about this movie is how it portrayed the taboo of cannibalism. Started out with some guy peeling and eating the skin off his own wound, and when the first ones finally submitted to the temptation you just get a slight, but disturbing view of shadows reaching and feeding from the corpses
>One thing I really liked about this movie is how it portrayed the taboo of cannibalism.
especially for the passengers on board who were all roman catholic. it wasn't just taboo, it was immoral as catholics believe you can be saved after you die. they held out much longer than I think agnostics would have. me personally, I wouldn't have hesitated.
only if it was a white woman
>see a poster with a big ugly fricking "N" in it
>automatically know it's trash
Pattern recognition skills are like a super power.
it wasn't trash, surprisingly. you should watch it.
You just have shit taste
well, for a movie about a plane crashing in the andes and the surviving passengers having to resort to eating the dead passengers then finding help by trekking across a vast mountain range, they did a pretty good job. have you seen the original with ethan hawke?
You're right. I should have known better. Netflix and A24 are the certification marks for time wasters. I was interested in the story and the movie was highly rated so i gave it a chance. It wasn't bad but sadly only okay, a clichéd movie.
>Fury Road
>Sicariio
>1917
There's three great movies right there dunbass. It's after 2019 where great movies stopped.being made. For reasons we are all quite aware of.
yeah, those movies are all kino, especially sicario, even though benecio was a little too john wick in his abilities for my taste.
>trusting imdb/letterboxd reviews
im not watchin anything unless
1) an anon says its worth watching
2) that same anon uses the anon password/captcha: Black person
streaming has also undergone enshittification over the past years.
now that they have your eternal subscription, why serve you kino when shit will suffice?
They don't have shit. I don't pay for it
Do you homosexuals really think it makes you cool to say there are no good movies after 2010? I bet the same homosexuals can't name 10 movies made before 1960 either. Just watch more movies and don't limit yourself to whatever trends on netflix, there's plenty of good stuff for everyone
>there's plenty of good stuff for everyone
ok homosexual. and how much garbage woke shit do we have to wade through to find one decent flick? the fact is, 99% of films now are trash.
You get all the updoots and gold from me kind stranger, hecking based posting on le Cinemaphile
why are you shilling for hollywood, homosexual?
When did I mention hollywood?
i said 99% of films are trash and you're like 'nah, come on bro, it's not so bad.' prove me wrong, b***h.
Still don't get it? If hollywood isn't your thing there is plenty of non-hollywood stuff, but let's be honest I doubt you have watched many movies at all. Pointless to argue with you, but I hope for your sake that you outgrow this edgy phase some day
i'm 54, single, no kids, live alone. how many movies do you think i've watched?
Jeez bro that makes things a lot better
frick, trying to remember if i watched this during my sorrentino discovery phase
One of my all time favourites
solid choice
i hated the first half of this movie so much i wanted to turn it off, most annoyed i've ever been watching a movie
but the second half was really something, that whole chaotic revolution part was actually incredible. i couldn't believe what i was watching
so glad i stuck with it, awesome movie
I think this was wildly underrated, though it was definitely my reality check for Aronofsky appreciation. His take on his own movie is so pathetic that it actually hurts me to listen to him talk about it. I also hate Jennifer Lawrence, but I'm pretty good at compartmentalizing that stuff. Also Hardy, Pfeifer, and Bardem do a ton of heavy lifting. If you can ignore the two massive fricking tampons in front of this thing it's a solidly structured and occasionally quite tense interpretation of biblical material.
Nsociety?
>Are there any truly great movies made after 2010?
I’ve been watching twin peaks this weekend for the first time and it rules
(2011)
Oh right. Most of it was made before 2010 tho
Ah that's true, I forgot it was left in animation hell for a decade or more.
Good Time
Place Beyond the Pines
Spring Breakers
Beau is Afraid
>Place Beyond the Pines
This movie sucked ass and was like 3 hours long.
no
> Godzilla Minus One
> Top Gun Maverick
> Interstellar
> Rogue One
What are you, 14?
Tragic taste anon. Grow up
>Are there any truly great movies made after 2010?
>that "film buff" who thinks there will be blood and no country for old men are the only two good movies this century.
>that "film buff" who has 400 movies on his imdb account
Uncut Gems is the first and only movie that comes to mind right now. But I'm pretty /druk/ right now.
The best white man burden documentary ever made.
N society
Blue is the Warmest Color
The Love Witch
>N in the corner
Don't watch it.
Literally that simple.
This was good, although OP is asking for "truly great". That's a tall order.
Tommy Lee Jones should never be a lead. he should have very little screentime. he really shouldn't even be an actor at all. what a bore
You watch your mouth sonny boy.
Get fricked
Bump
Pacific Rim (2013)
it was FUN and the closest we'll ever get to western mech kino (besides bay transformers)
Did you like like Society of the Snow?
Fix'd
If by great you mean Conan the Barbarian or The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly level then no.
Walter Mitty is pretty good.
Bump
just watch more indie movies. we need to start focusing on good movies, not hollywood slop.
there are hundreds of films you don't even know about, and it's because no one talks about them.
I consider Interstellar and Mad Max to be some of the greatest movies of all time.
Nightcrawler is the best film of the last 15 years
Blonde
Hmm, so a more modern movie, post-2010s, that was artistic and really made me think. In other words, I didn't feel stupider after watching it..
That's a good question.
I have been watching a lot of artsy movies recently because I feel like a lot of very modern shit is shit. I saw recently
The Cook, the Thief, His Wife & Her Lover (1989)
Accattone (1961)
Exotica (1994)
Last Exit to Brooklyn (1989)
Satyricon (1969)
Buffalo '66 (1998)
Ok I know, so I saw and liked The Master, Phantom Thread and The Lighthouse. They were reasonably good for more modern stuff.
I'm sure there are more recent movies that are really artistic and intelligent but it just seems harder to find them.
Also really good writers and directors are harder to find period.
