You're right that he mostly terrorizes women, but my point is that Art doesn't play "fair" like characters like Jason who just walk forward killing with raw physicality. Art coming up behind the Exterminator dude in hitting him in the back of the head before killing him is way more disturbing (in my opinion)
Slashers are all supernatural regardless of whether the movie explicitly says so. No human can do the things any generic slasher villain does. The idea that a woman slasher would break the realism is a reach seeing as there is no realism to begin with.
Imo more lady slashers couldnt hurt. I liked the girl cenobite in hellraiser and the evil Stacy in cry wolf.
If a woman ran into your room full speed, knife in hand, furiously stabbing and slicing you, you'd be able to get away? There's still blood loss, so yeah, women can be scary, work great as lures too and it's been done in movies for the killer, and being the killer herself.
