And since this system can't tell the difference between someone making fun of a show, they never watched and basing their opinions off of reviews, or genuine enjoyment/viewership. It incentivizes companies to make what I call "Troll shows" where the whole point of the show is to troll people into talking about it. Which is stupid because it isn't actually adding value to anything but Holywood insists on using a broken system to determine popularity and viewership.
