          They all died IRL though

I mean, it's based on a true story and everybody died in real life. Would have been weird to give it a happy ending.

Bet she wasn't silent anymore after Crozier charted her northwest passage

In the book she is never seen without her tongue and he gives his up as well. Also there’s a nosferatu rat demon crozier imagines up upon seeing the rat toothed body in the ship, book is a wild ride. Show was great but I picked that book up on a whim in 2015, and it’s one of those that you always look back on and think about how you’ll never get to experience it for the first time again and every subsequent book is a little less exciting by comparison.

Hickey's rotten soul and the chain probably. In the book it refuses to eat Hickey because it can smell his soul.

Blankey, more than anything. That was a very spicy soul it got out of him and you can even see the chain of forks he had wrapped around him sticking out of its mouth. Madman probably kept stabbing even as he slid down its throat.

Just started reading the novel and it's much better than the show. Not sure why they made the monster a dumb bear/man hybrid instead of the elemental force of evil that he is in the book.

I presume to have the characters (somewhat) reasonably believe it wasn't supernatural initially and that it might just be a polar bear. The book's troonblock was always supernatural

In the book it looks different, imagine a giraffe and a polar bear fused together and that’s what it looks like, so they’re never entirely sure what it is. Iirc they speculate on anything from unknown species or monster. Everything about it is completely different.

Pure kino for the first 5-6 episodes then honestly I lost a lot of interest once the weird ass polar bear was revealed
