One of the animators/character designers who worked on CDRR worked on Klaus as well. He posted some stuff on his Instagram from the movie. They brought on 2D animators to guide the CG artists to make the 3D characters like Chip look more "2D". It's as dumb as it sounds. The designs are so much better in 2D it's not even funny. They also animated the 2D BG characters in 2D because it cost less for a few seconds of hand drawn animation than making 3D rigs. He thought the movie sucked too btw lol.

The Darkwing Duck scene was well animated so there obviously was someone in the staff with real skills. But most likely not enough of them to be put to work on the whole of the film.

1: Remove that evil Peter Pan bootleg factory plot
2: Continue the plot with Chip and Dale going on about their normal lives and somehow make them become friends again

So many of the cameos just felts so weird and out of place. Why was Randy Marsh there for one scene?
In the same way Roger Rabbit's cameos were mostly from the 40s and 50s, I would have expected the bulk of this movie's cameos to come from the 80s and 90s. Felt like the Disney Afternoon mascots really got shafted. I was shocked Bonkers didn't even get a line.
