T3 was about as good as T2, both nowhere near as good as T1. T4 was absolutely dreadful.
T3 is one of the most overhated movies ever. Not as good as 1 and 2, but still a damn fine movie and a great trilogy ender.
4 was just plain lame, but people are nicer to it because 5 was just fanservice, and 6 was just bitter distilled leftism.
T4 is the Ghostbusters Afterlife of Terminator. It was never good, it was just less of a piece of shit.
Bah! Only the first film was kino. I maintain that John Connor drags down any film in which he actually appears in and is better off as being the mostly-unseen myth.
Can't agree, T-100 was the perfect upgrade to the original so hard and came out in the perfect time when people were actually dedicated to pushing a new tech to it's absolute limits, which meant a careful attention to detail and a dedication to shooting it in real physical places that got lost over time. There's a reason every Terminator afterwards was trying and failing to chase that high.
The T-1000 was the sole high point, but everything else felt like a regression from the first film's bittersweet ending by making everything overly hopeful and dropping the psychological edge of the first Ahnold in favor of pure action.
