I actually feel bad for Claremont because it was his original idea back when it wasn't a trend, now someone else will take the credit for it.
Wonder if they will just ignore Azazel, they are pushing more and more the whole "Mystique and Destiny were always together" that I would not be surprised if they also retcon all the childs she had with other characters.
I would have been fine with it if Claremont was able to do it but as it stands now it's a question that's been answers, dealt with, and swept away. Retconning it now is just a waste of paper.
Maybe they will do something like Mystique using Destiny body and somehow her DNA and Azazel is still the father, since it's clear that Azazel and Kurt have the same power and similar design.
Azazel is retcon into being Mystique's Ancient Egyptian mutant ancestor. Problem solved.

Because it's 2023, do you really think Marvel would pass the chance to make this retcon? Nightcrawler is one of the fan-favorite mutant, giving him two moms where one of them could be considered trans is huge for them, like when they made Iceman gay.
Also, considering it was Claremont idea, they can use that as excuse.
