I loathe skyfall and NTTD, dont even remember specter but QoS is so poorly edited I dont know how you can rank it above anything. I mean it's barely watchable as a film just technically
Skyfall >terribly written "smart" villain who could perfectly predict the future and used his superpower to murder an old woman in the most elaborate way possible instead of just shooting her on the street
NTTD >bogged down by trying to appease fans of CR and Skyfall at the same time with an ineffective villain, numerous cameos to resolve the story that they'd forgotten about, an army that's never explained but is just there and ready for Bond to massacre, and a bunch of scenes that feel disconnected
Quantum of Solace >hurt by the writer's strike with an ending that's literally "let's just shoot everyone and hope that fixes this deep-seated political corruption that has had huge economic ramifications" - otherwise solid
The editing in QoS was fine. The opera scene was brilliant. There were some scenes that were subpar but nothing major. Its real problem is that doesn't make sense unless you've seen CR recently.

I dont disagree with your critiques but the editing was not 'fine', on top of that the plot is about saving Black folk tree fitty on waterbottles

The editing was a disaster – watch the opening car chase or the plane sequence on YouTube at 0.75x speed so your brain actually has time to process the images and you'll see they feel way more in line with traditional Bond action sequences and are far more engaging.
>QoS was better.
The whole movie I couldn't figure out what Quantum of Shitass was about. >It's the guy who shot Vesper >Now Graig is angsting >Black person Felix exists >There's a woman on a boat and she's saved from... smugglers? Pirates? Slavery? I'm honestly not sure >Now there's a shootout at an opera >Now there's a plane having a tech demo at night but there's a bomb aboard to... tank Boeing stock? Investors will see sabotage and think it's a bad investment? >Bond villain's over-the-top lair is... an empty hotel in the desert >and he's price gouging on water, that's the big evil scheme
At least Skyfall had a coherent plot and fun villain. Things happened, it was at least entertaining.
QoS just oozes production problems. It already starts with the theme song which I believe was rushed to completion a couple of weeks before the editing was supposed to be finalised
>Why do people like Casino Royale?
It's the Bond origin story, new fresh actor, kino action sequences (initial chase scene, plane chase scene, final chase scene), Eva Green is sex, great fight scenes, good villain (Druk my guy).
I think it's weird how many people hate Skyfall. Javier Bardem plays an excellent villain, it's visually appealling, and the third act is a really cool inversion of the Bond formula (having Bond defend his home rather than attacking someone else).
I'll admit the story is clumsy at parts, but so are most of the Craigs.
>I think it's weird how many people hate Skyfall. Javier Bardem plays an excellent villain
He is good, I think people don't like Skyfall because of the "muh empowered women" meme, the CGI is worse, you can tell it was rushed (the British helicopters), parts are very slow and sluggish (the capture scene of Bond), Bond seems less of a force of nature and more old and fragile, not peak Bond. The whole Bond backstory and childhood gets tiring.
I rewatched skyfall recently and I while javier bardem is good, something that did turn me off of it a bit was the whole "he's hacking us! our servers have been hacked!" thing with a giant cgi skull popping up on the screen
I am not sure that a Bond director really makes that much of a difference, as it ultimately rests on the script they have to work with and them answering to the approach to the franchise by the producers. John Glen directed pretty diverse Bond films in terms of production style and tone however, they each have a core Bond essence to them. The issue with the Craig era is being marred by the more wider culture it finds itself within: early-on being influenced by the influence of both Austin Powers & Bourne and the post-9/11 climate, and later the progressive culture of the 2010s.
>Why do people like Skyfall? How is it any better than QoS?
- great villain
- compelling, relatively straightforward terrorist plot
- kino direction and photography
- comfy bond & m home alone buddy movie finale
No he's not. Every die hard Bond fan you will ever speak to that's not some autistic loser who's terminally online will tell you he's fricking awful. he had ONE good movie through his entire tenure as James Bond, and it was a fricking remake.
He'll be remembered as the 2nd coming of George Lasenbee. Peter Sellers was a better James Bond, in the same movie no less.
Craig is consistently considered one of the best Bonds. It's the films (apart from Casino & Skyfall) that are disliked
Craig is almost universally beloved and his films are the most popular the franchise has been since Connery, it's just hardcore gatekeeping autists online who hate him to be contrarian
>Craig is almost universally beloved and his films are the most popular the franchise has been since Connery
Then the masses are moronic and have terrible taste when it comes to the franchise.
Casino Royale is severely overrated. The last hour or so completely ruins the movie with mads dying way too early. The main "mission" is just over so quickly
That's how it goes down in the book and the reason they frontloaded the movie with the big action setpieces so the audience wouldn't feel shortchanged and they could let the romance and drama play out properly in the third act.

*kills himself*
Feel kind of bad for Craig for being so hated, Casino Royal was kino at least
Craig is consistently considered one of the best Bonds. It's the films (apart from Casino & Skyfall) that are disliked
was No Time to Die that bad?
i probably wouldnt watch it again but it wasnt bad
it was quite terrible, the villain was intentionally devoid of a personality per the moronic director.
>Lucifer Satan

Casino Royale>Quantum of Solace>SKYFALL>NTTD>ZzzzzZ>Spectre
People will disagree, but i like the Home Alone traps in Skyfall.
I was very drunk the only time i saw it though
It's awful.
Why do people like Skyfall? How is it any better than QoS?
Good: Casino Royale
Medicore to bad: QoS and Skyfall
Abhorrent: Spectre and No Time to Die
I hate Skyfall, I thought QoS was better. Casino Royale mogs them both.
>QoS was better.

yea the QoS plot made absolutely no sense. Like some ChatGPT stuff.
QoS just oozes production problems. It already starts with the theme song which I believe was rushed to completion a couple of weeks before the editing was supposed to be finalised
>>QoS was better.
Might be my favorite bond film and the ending is amazing.
Why do people like Casino Royale?
The moment the poker game starts it turns into a snooze fest.
The worst Brosnan movie is still better than the best Craig movie
>Why do people like Casino Royale?

just kind of cheesy and ridiculous
>Why do people like Casino Royale?
Production style over genuine Bond substance and soul.
same director as golden eye thoughever
I am not sure that a Bond director really makes that much of a difference, as it ultimately rests on the script they have to work with and them answering to the approach to the franchise by the producers. i rewatched spectre recently and it was surprisingly way better than i remembered
No he's not. Every die hard Bond fan you will ever speak to that's not some autistic loser who's terminally online will tell you he's fricking awful. he had ONE good movie through his entire tenure as James Bond, and it was a fricking remake.

where do you guys get your information
he's a cucked moron who deserved to play a cucked moron
cucked how?
Craig is almost universally beloved and his films are the most popular the franchise has been since Connery, it's just hardcore gatekeeping autists online who hate him to be contrarian
singles of truth
Craig hate is such a forced meme
>Craig is almost universally beloved and his films are the most popular the franchise has been since Connery
Then the masses are moronic and have terrible taste when it comes to the franchise.
No he's not. Most people hate him. Even your non-James Bond fan casual movie goers think he's a plank of wood with no personality.
>NOOO DON'T HIT MY BUTT WITH THAT ROPE
Don't. Craig was fully on board with the direction the films took. He was actively complicit.
A MOST POZZED BLOOD RUNS THROUGH MY VEINS
YOU KNOW I'M GAY
damn, those stocks went down
>stab someone
>they turn into upvotes
Casino Royale is so fricking good and I'm so tired of these american shitposters ree'ing that Craig's never been in a good Bond film
wasn't much of a bond film tho was it
Yes?
>inb4 kvetching that it was a wannabe Bourne film
The parkour chase and the Miami airport chase are objectively two of the best action sequences of the 21st Century and of the entire franchise.
>no women in the intro
Craig Bond movies were cucked from the very beginning
Casino Royale is severely overrated. The last hour or so completely ruins the movie with mads dying way too early. The main "mission" is just over so quickly
for me it's the guy giving audience narration that ruins the every poker scene
That's how it goes down in the book and the reason they frontloaded the movie with the big action setpieces so the audience wouldn't feel shortchanged and they could let the romance and drama play out properly in the third act.
>I love you, Bond!
>I am thinking about what you're going to do to me with your little thinker
Eva Green is such a bawd....
Are you projecting, dude???

What makes it a bond movie?
Spectre is underrated. Lea Sexdoux is a great Bond girl, and the movie is very well shot.
Are the classic bonds actually good?
Casino was the only good Craig bond
Casino Royale was a remake. Fricker couldn't even star in an original Bond film until the end of his tenure.
>It was me, anon. The author of all your pain.
>blaming the hands-off producer and not the writer duo that have been there for the last 20 years constantly shitting every film up
Purvis and Wade are two of the biggest hacks in the industry and have been given free reign of the franchise for far too long
And who hires those writers?
The James Bond franchise ends with Peirce. The last great 007.
Brosnan was forgotten as soon as Casino premiered, LOL!
Hell yeah, Saul Bass meets rotoscoping.
