The editing in QoS was fine. The opera scene was brilliant. There were some scenes that were subpar but nothing major. Its real problem is that doesn't make sense unless you've seen CR recently.
I dont disagree with your critiques but the editing was not 'fine', on top of that the plot is about saving Black folk tree fitty on waterbottles
The editing was a disaster – watch the opening car chase or the plane sequence on YouTube at 0.75x speed so your brain actually has time to process the images and you'll see they feel way more in line with traditional Bond action sequences and are far more engaging.

He is good, I think people don't like Skyfall because of the "muh empowered women" meme, the CGI is worse, you can tell it was rushed (the British helicopters), parts are very slow and sluggish (the capture scene of Bond), Bond seems less of a force of nature and more old and fragile, not peak Bond.The whole Bond backstory and childhood gets tiring.
I rewatched skyfall recently and I while javier bardem is good, something that did turn me off of it a bit was the whole "he's hacking us! our servers have been hacked!" thing with a giant cgi skull popping up on the screen

I am not sure that a Bond director really makes that much of a difference, as it ultimately rests on the script they have to work with and them answering to the approach to the franchise by the producers. John Glen directed pretty diverse Bond films in terms of production style and tone however, they each have a core Bond essence to them. The issue with the Craig era is being marred by the more wider culture it finds itself within: early-on being influenced by the influence of both Austin Powers & Bourne and the post-9/11 climate, and later the progressive culture of the 2010s.

Casino Royale is severely overrated. The last hour or so completely ruins the movie with mads dying way too early. The main "mission" is just over so quickly
for me it's the guy giving audience narration that ruins the every poker scene
That's how it goes down in the book and the reason they frontloaded the movie with the big action setpieces so the audience wouldn't feel shortchanged and they could let the romance and drama play out properly in the third act.

I'll admit the story is clumsy at parts, but so are most of the Craigs.
