Not really. Anime isn't a medium where you can really do that aesthetic well because the nature of anime being hand drawn means designs have to be simplified to a significant degree.
The most detail I've ever seen Mecha anime have is probably Gundam 0083 or F91, but even there those designs aren't in the gritty aesthetic that AC has.
Ryousuke Takahashi shows like Votoms and Gasaraki may be up your alley though.

Muv-Luv trilogy is probably the closest anime-esque thing to >=4th gen AC. Read the original trilogy of vns instead and don't watch any of the anime though. Action scenes are mainly against aliens though. If you have any preconceptions about VNs then you shouldn't really worry about it because Muv-Luv plays out just like an anime (as opposed to motionless sprites in most vns). TSFs are also just the coolest nip mechs, maybe tied with ACs.

I really enjoyed playing them, and prefer gen 1. I played through the series for the first recently and genuinely loved many of the games, they were unique and like nothing I've played before
That's a solid play from me. Games change, mechanics change, but the big thing is there's no obvious FTP garbage and overall still looks like you can chill and do cozy customization for hours tuning and tweaking mechs, and the movement just looks generally better than V and VD. The souls stans can weep and project all they like but I haven't been this hyped for a game in almost a decade. Also I haven't played a Souls game every so I don't care.

Thing is I got an AMD RX 480 8g reference card way back in 2017 after my Nvidia card bricked itself after a bad update. It's served me well ever since. I couldn't get Elden Ring to play until I updated my drivers. It ran just fine at 60fps after that UNLESS I came across a Lichdragon lol. Those spammy particle effects always led to a crashes. It's been known issue since launch and there hasn't been a fix yet last I checked.
My PC often overheat. so i'm tempted to take it on PS4 instead. But I fear a bit how the game will run...

It's doable but very boring and hard (in a dull way) to pull off, if you want to run limited, low firing rate but devatating ammo with great range use laser or kojima back cannons instead.

as far as the story is concerned, handler walter is a notorious individual that treats his "hounds" as disposable resources. The player character is supposed to be THE one to achieve his own lofty goals.
There have been AI controlled ACs in past games, as well as this Human Plus program from the first gen where a pilot under overwhelming debt gets used as a human experiment for some supremely skilled AC pilot in exchange for their entire humanity.
Our player in 6 is likely not the ONLY one who is undergoing this, but it's absurd to assume that EVERYONE is in the exact same boat.
Our character in this game is obviously gonna be a direct callback to 9ball, a legendary AC since the first game who's origins were always a mystery but was basically an AI controlled AC for a mastermind AI that was keeping all of humanity underground.
Considering that Gen 1 is fine and Gen 7 is apparently completely ineffective, I wonder what's the deal with Gen 4 and whether all Gen 4s are frozen tunas

I just finished my first ending of Last Raven. I think I'm just going to move on to 4. I did not enjoy that at all beyond the story. I skipped Nexus but Last Raven still feels like a huge downgrade from Silent Line besides the new controls

Even normies can correctly detect kino sometimes.
I keep trying to get going with AC3 and I just stall out. Not sure if it's that I fall into the Arena trap and trying to build a monster there that will carry me everywhere or just losing interest with how boring the early missions once you know what you're doing.

Anyone know of a way to get a build kit for this guy?
Scratch build or know how to 3d model using a ripped 3d model as a base. Sad there isn't even a GK of the Normals, seems like an easy budget kit for Koto too.
We might get kits for the new thicc MTs in AC6 though.
A lot of the new MTs are just as unique and detailed as the ACs themselves. I feel like they are baiting kits for them, the whip guy and the missile boss come to mind especially. it's conflicting for me because they are pretty, but I wish they would upgrade them to ACs so I could actually use their parts.
