Arnold is cooler but Stallone starred in better flicks
The Running Man is an underrated kino.
It's based on a good novel, but Manhunt took that same concept and did something better with it, imo.
I wouldn't mind a remake, provided the studios don't try to actively make it bad.
A Running Man remake with Tron or Blade Runner aesthetics could be kino
the running man novel has jack shit to do with manhunt what are you talking about
I think Manhunt is also televised entertainment.
the guy from running man is not being filmed, that's the whole point. they find out where he is, he dies.
Clint
Armold had more varied and critically acclaimed movies. Sly did a lot of action and suspense films, which while good, weren't as critically important. I think only Rocky counts as a "great" film and Demolition Man as a creative sci-fi film. Meanwhile Arnold did:
>Conan
>Terminator
>Predator
>Total Recall
>Pumping Iron
>Demolition Man
>Judge Dredd
>Rocky
>First Blood
>Cobra
>Over the top
Sly had as great movies as Arnie, but Arnie's are more memorable
Also Rocky 2, Rocky 3. Rocky 4. Rocky 5. Rocky 6
I wouldn't put Rocky 5
Filtered
Rocky 5 looks like a direct to VHS movie
Moron
I love rocky 5. Way more reasonable ending than what we get in Balboa. And a great film in its own right.
Creed is an overall better movie than Rocky 5. The robot part is kino tho
lmao no, also the robot is in Rocky 4 you fricking casual
I don't watch Black person trash
Predator > All Slys films
Demolition Man can stand up to Arnold's best sci-fi films though its tone is ironic and satirical. Also Snipes made my list of "actors whom I wish had played the Joker at some point" because of that film.
>Demolition Man can stand up to Arnold's best sci-fi films
lmao no
Demolition Man is better than total recall, I'm sorry.
But not better than Predator or T1 or T2
Ya I guess I didn't think about predator being "sci fi" but it is
Arnold always win
Nah. Total Recall is deep and multilayered accident Jungian masterpiece. Demolition Man is good and equally funny, but it's not on the same level
Demolition man is a wesley snipe kino.
No shit, Predator might actually be the best movie of all times.
Arnold and it's not even fricking close.
For me, Ahnuld pinches it.
Their best 3...
Arnie: Predator, Total Recall, Conan the Barbarian (that's right, no T2. T1 is better anyway)
Sly: Rocky, Demolition Man, Cliffhanger.
>Cliffhanger over First Blood
It was a tough choice, homes. I find myself watching, and gaining more enjoyment, from Cliffhanger than First Blood. Love both.
WHOS IN CHARGE HERE
Sly is more talented as a writer/director and Rocky and First Blood are all time classics, but Arnie has the better filmography overall
Van-Damme
Arnie has endless talent, Sly has biggest heart.
Just saw Rambo 2008, I want more of that.
Arnold had the charisma, Sly had the brains
Sly could be the better actor when he felt like it. Unfortunately, those examples do not make up the bulk of his career. And that's not to praise Arnold's acting, he cruises entirely on charisma. Which is also why most of his comedy roles beat Sly too. And just judging movies as a whole, the Nazinater clearly wins.
>he cruises entirely on charisma
Was there ever an actor like this? No one comes to mind, because I don't remember a bad Arnie movie (yes, I loved Victor Freeze)
Arnold had better movies, but Sly is a better actor.
Demolition Man is better than any Arnold movie BUT Arnold movies are generally better than Stallone movies.
>Demolition Man is better than any Arnold movie
>Demolition Man is better than any Arnold movie
I guess Demolition man is like Slys Total Recall?
But worse than Total Recall
foolish
Truth
Its true, I like Demolition Man, but Total Recall is literally non stop start to finish primo kino. I couldnt think of another Arnie movie comparable.
Demolition Man might be closer to twins. Action Comedy dressed up with sci fi.
predator is just too good
They are both literally titans of the action movie era. No one will ever be able to match them as icons, and honestly these are the only two Id say are in the same playing field. If I had to choose I would go with Ahnold. Both have an amazing amount of kino under their belts though. They dont make them like they used to.
Stallone has for more significant works from a historical and artistic point of view bur Arnold is by far the more famous character and icon.
For me its Bruce Willis
Both have pros and cons so I rate them equally
boring!
Ok, let's look at it this way
Arnold pros:
>more varied filmography
>more iconic roles
>higher entertainment factor
>bigger amount of memorable one-liners
>successful in various fields, a model immigrant
Arnold cons:
>limited range as an actor
>opportunistic to a fault
>views on things can shift depending on the most favorable outcome
>not a stellar family life
Sly pros:
>more "high brow" filmography, overall
>is actually capable of writing scripts that aren't awful
>has remained true to himself throughout his entire career
>good marriage and well raised kids
Sly cons:
>limited range as an actor
>successful in one field as opposed to Arnold who conquered 3 or more
>less variety in filmography, also more duds
Overall, they're neck and neck but both will go down as GOATs despite it all.
Sly has a large range as an actor.
It's slightly better than Arnold but neither are Day Lewis tier.
Doesn't really matter though, if anything, they prove that hard work beats talent.
Sly was good in Cop Land, I can't imagine Arnold managing that.
I think pic related is Arnold's biggest flex purely as an actor, but the movie itself is nothing special plot-wise.
Maggie is better
Cop Land is a fantastic movie, and it cemented Sly as a terrific actor.
Rocky is my favorite movie of all time and has been a source of major motivation but overall Arnold was the 80s 90s king.
He even became the Governator. He has literally lived every scenario.
arnold had the better career but he couldnt have made rocky
yeah thats a good way to put it
My favorite is JCVD, but Stallone stomps the shit out of Arnie. It's unreal to me, how much natural charisma Arnold has in something like Pumping Iron, and how poorly it translates to any of his films
The most moronic post of all time
Pumping Iron was scripted anon. He played an exaggerated version of himself. But you're incorrect that it didn't translate to any of his films. If anything, it's what kept him relevant for so many years.
Arnold is the GOAT, but Sly has the best kino between them.
assassins gets no respect, no respect at all. i love that movie
I think about this often
total recall alone mogs all of sly's filmography
