I have nothing but positive feelings about the prequel trilogy after watching them. How can people still claim they're universally reviled?

Watch the Plinkett reviews, they explain why you're wrong for liking the prequels.
I've watched them. They're entertaining and I largely agree, but I still have positive feelings associated with the prequel trilogy.
After reading the Brian Jay Jones biography, I have a much deeper appreciation for George Lucas too.
>making a thread based on the narrative supported by mouse Black person shills
I liked the prequels a lot when they came out and I still like them now. No one can change that.
Honestly, a lot of people are just brainlets, and don't get anything out of art unless there are "cool relatable characters" for them to self insert as.
Most people who hate the prequels are people who weren’t even born when they came out and are just parroting what they were told to think by boomers who were shocked that a series of kids movies were aimed at kids.
Most people who like the prequels are people were weren't even born when they came out and watched the Clone Wars cartoons.
Any person with half a brain knows that the prequels aren't good movies. The idea that they're "deep, high-art cinema" is pushed by the zoomers who grew up with them.
>Any person with half a brain knows that the prequels aren't good movies.
Why?
Bad writing, direction, and an overuse of special effects and action scenes to try and distract from those two things.
no
Bruh goteem frfr
As someone that grew up with these, this is undeniable. The movies are too busy and try to cover too much in a short period of time
I never claimed they were good movies, just that I have positive feelings associated with them and like them. It's a nice set of movies.
I like the lore. I like that era of this world. I love artwork about the prequels. I enjoy seeing it.
I thought it went to shit after episode 1 and the pacing was a mess through 2 and 3. You had like 40 years of EU and headcannons that were almost all better than what we ended up with on screen. Not saying "I imagined it better" is the issue, it was also a bad series on top of that.
That's understandable, I don't hate them but they're definitely overrated by young people.
They are shit movies happening in a great setting. Prequels era gave us some of the best video games ever made. But movies are objectively crap.
The setting is the movie. No one says this about any other movie.
>man, Blade Runner is actually kind of shit if you completely divorce it from the visual and musical direction
No one.

If that was Fifth Element, it wouldn't occur to anyone to call it bad.
Except the Fifth Element is kino
Fifth Element has much better CGI than the prequels
Because it's not the prequels. People don't know they aren't supposed to like it.
>the beauty of prequels.
And we love them!
I was 9 when TPM came out so I love the Prequels but I also got to experience whag Star Wars was before them and I do mourn for that as well but I get that feel from Battletech and countless other 80s, 90s Space operas.
Only few nostalgic kids liked them.
Nostalgia + sequel (deserved) hate
Stop spamming these threads, manchild and let your toys go.
I've never made a thread like this before, I was just watching the music video to Weird Al's "The Saga Begins" and it made me feel warm inside.
It’s simple. People who watched the OT as children were expecting something that made them feel that way again with the PT, but it didn’t happen because they weren’t children anymore.
Obviously made for children but after rewatching them my criticisms are
>too much cgi
>drawn out chase scenes
>copious plot armor
>instantaneous space travel
>lightsaber yoda
>clunky romance dialogue
>Anakin:'i killed women and children raiders', padme:'ill marry you anyway'
>jar jar
>too many characters/environments
Pros
>Hayden acting and Anakin character development (despite being oblivious)
>pod racing
>Politics and subversion of military, false flags, proxy armies (could've been given more screen time though)
>space ship designs
>Portman's midriff
I don't even enjoy actively watching the movies, but I feel positively about them.
Is that weird? I love them after watching them all.
Honestly my rememberence of them was more positive than the actual movies. I could barely sit through them now because of all the CGI and the plot armor.
Films are not art.
It's been jar jar since the start of time. It's still jar jar > sequels
I liked the clone wars cartoon
