i am a coomer and did some investigating. Scarlett Johansson basically said she was fine with doing it, but Wes Anderson was too nervous to talk to her about it. He did the same shit with Lea Seydoux and had to make a cartoon showing her what to do.

They make reference in the movie to having a "nude stunt double", and there is a stunt double actress credited. I looked her up, and she has a similar body to Scarlett in Under The Skin. Great casting.

Nonsense. Scarlett says it was her and the body being anatomically equal (height, hips etc) to the one in Under the Skin confirms that.
The double thing is nonsense and Wes never "confirmed" they used one

Wes said it in a AMA when someone directly asked if it was a double. Scarlett directly said she was game for it but ultimately Wes was too uncomfortable.

They even mention using a “body double” in the movie. Pic related is the actress credited as “body double”, who is a model

It was on IG or some shit but i'll try to find a recording of it. I think Wes and Scarlett just said frick it because it was such a brief moment. Lea's absolutely wouldn't work with a double at all.

From what I recall, the fan said something like
              >i know you might not want to answer something like this, but they mention body doubles in the film. Was that a comment on Scarlett using one for her scene?
              and he said

Yeah, Lea Seydoux said that he basically was terrified to talk about her nude scene and had to make an animation that she could watch of how it will go down. I don't even know if he was on set for it. Not sure why he's so autistic about it.

the song in the credits flat out explains it if you didnt piece it together.

You can't wake up if you don't fall asleep
You can't fall in love and land on your feet
You won't smell the roses if you never plant a seed
And you can't wake up if you don't fall asleep

You can't make an entrance if you keep missing your cue
You won't pick a winner till you learn how to choose
You never find a treasure unless you dig deep
And you can't wake up if you don't fall asleep

Oh, you'll never have memories worth keepin'
Oh, you'll never find the truth you are seekin'
          While you are sleepin'

But you can't wake up if you don't fall asleep
So go live your dreams and live them real deep
There is some countin' money and there's some countin' sheep
Oh, you can't wake up if you don't fall asleep
