Don’t say that I was looking forward to it
Will Poulter looking cute!
I'll watch it for my wife Sophia
Based and same
>cute girl showing you her rock
why won't this ever happen to me
does she have a lot of screen time?
Not really. At the very least she's not the weird kid's love interest.
sophia lillis confirmed built for BAC.
Damn he just admits he saw it for Sophia publicly? Impressive tbh
he has good taste
Agreed, his smugness in every photo with waifus is warranted
Based Kojima
she has such beautiful eyes
Any self respecting man with excellent taste knows that the eyes are the most beautiful part of a woman
she cut her own hair? well that explains why it’s always to short
She cuts her hair in salonaks dot com (for real)
MONA SEXO!!!!!11
Personally I really enjoyed it.
Tom Holland looking zesty
I agree, and I like the films of Wes Anderson. It wasn't offensively bad, it was just bland and not very engaging. The whole layered story aspect made it unfocused, and I his ensemble casts are just getting way too huge
Do you think it would be better if they got rid of the playwrite storyline?
I think so. I thought the asteroid city story could have made for a fun movie, but acknowledging that they were in-universe actors portraying a play, took away all the sincerity, and the playwright story I didn't find all that interesting
Contrast it to Dogville for example, that whole movie is stripped of sets but you buy into it right away and it's a very powerful movie because the characters are strong and real
the playwrite framing device is essential for the central thematic argument of the movie, without it, there is no reason to tell the story, if you think otherwise then you entirely failed to grasp what Wes Anderson was trying to say
What was he trying to say? I honestly have no idea what the movie was ultimately about and have yet to here a satisfactory explanation. Would be very satisfying to have an explanation that makes sense.
>I honestly have no idea what the movie was ultimately about
welcome to Wes Anderson's magical world of whimsy!
I have no idea what he was getting at either, he just went full Antonioni on my b***h ass.
>you can't wake up if you don't fall asleep
It's just "sad things happen but that's just life", how are you people so braindead?
Explain so I know whether or not seeing it in the theater is worth it.
I don't think the playwrite framing story needed to be removed but it's not a very complicated or layered thematic argument to begin with. It's just characters trying to cope with despair and/or existential questions, but without the subtlety or humanity of his earlier films that touched on similar themes in ways that ironically felt more mature and experienced where this film feels amateurish. I think the main problem of the film wasn't the framing device, it was that the runtime was too short for how many characters he tried to shove into it. The MC barely even interacts with his kids after the first act.
>, it was just bland and not very engaging.
But I don’t understand, that’s the entirety of his style and always has been!
The French Dispatch felt flatter imho
Is it worse than Bottle Rocket though?
Bottle Rocket is great.
Bottle Rocket fricking blows, you can see Wes’s stylistic tendencies but none of them are developed at all as in later films. The characterization is so awful with the exception of Bob, everyone else is 2 dimensional except Dignan who is just inscrutable (who is this guy? why is he like this?) and the plot is totally rote—there are absolutely 0 stakes or tension.
not a single screening in India... frick this country man (im foreign)
your people only care about capeshit sorry
This is why you don't watch Masala and blockbuster films, indianbro.
what, no showing at the theater with the black man using a blender every five minutes throughout the film?
I don't know, I was kind of put off when the one guy took off his pants and started fricking Ed Norton in the ass. I think the pump and dump shot was really gratuitous, it should have faded to black before then.
It's a different time.
Wouldn't even say it's bad, just underwhelming and easily one of the weaker entries in his filmography. I enjoyed the buffalo mac and cheese my gf ordered more tbh.
How's ScarJo's nude scene? That's all I care about. Don't think it'll be topping the one from The French Dispatch I suspect.
I liked it, but it's pretty low on the list. I think I liked it more than French Dispatch though. Maya and Sophia were looking cute.
Blurry and brief. Wes says they used a double, she says they didn't, who to believe?
Why would you even care? She's naked for like 70% of the runtime of Under the Skin, and her body is shit in that. Her body looks exactly the same now.

dont know why you hate it anons , i loved it. Besides the great directing and mesmerizing colour palette Wes gave us a film exploring the anxiety around the unkown that is death . The film was funny and at moments portrayed sincere emotion . Went to see it on my birthday and my normie sister absolutely adored it (second day of screening and we were only 5 people in the cinema). This is Anderson at his best but i could see how it could have gone astray . Also the next day i showed my sister the royal tenenbaums and at the first 40 minutes she called it boring and at the end just okay...
These threads are obviously just a way to post Sophia threads without the jannies having any feasible excuse to ban them, homosexuals that they are.
I love Sophia, but probably not enough to see this in theaters.
Wes Anderson is just basically aesthetic first story second honestly
The films look absolutely gorgeous but I could not tell you what the frick a good number of them were about
I remember that Darjiling express one more vividly but over-all you can't have too much of Wes anyway.
>I could not tell you what the frick a good number of them were about
That's more a failing on your part than anything else
sophia lillis is box-office cancer. her career is over and it's arguable to say it ever began. good riddance. hope she starts an onlyfans.
I wanted to refute you but turns out she has no projects lined up. It's joever.
1. She's barely more than a cameo in this.
2. The movie just started it's wide release a few days ago, there's still a ton of countries not even showing it yet. I have no doubt it'll be a moderate success.
No.
The Adults is coming out pretty soon, and she has another movie in pre-production called The Burning Season. She also just met Hideo Kojima who has been courting her to appear in one of his video games for years.
She's doing fine. She'll probably put out more of those stage play things she likes doing too.
Look at Kojimas smug look, he can't even believe his luck lmao
he smelled all our waifus, imagine being Kojima
He hasn't gotten to mine yet, but i fear it's only a matter of time
burning season was cancelled 3 years ago, imdb just doesn't update their shit
then there is no point in watching it
REEEEE STAY AWAY FROM MY WAIFU JAP homosexual
honest opinion on her body of work?
IT and IT 2 are good, but Tim Curry is still a much better Pennywise.
Nancy Drew is alright for a kid, but as an adult the plot didn't really work for me.
Most of her other movies are terrible, but she's always the best part of them. She just takes a lot of... woke projects. She's still adorable in them, but they're not good.
Sophia is such a dork :3
it’s true
She makes me so depressed
Why? Because she refuses to look feminine or because she will never be with you?
she's developing a bit of a man-face and she's getting fatter. if she cannot play a naive teenager/early-20s woman and be "girl next door" cute then it's ogre. the only calls she'll be answering are calls to pay her tab.
she is an alcohol
she's so fricking cute it shouldn't be possible
how is it even possible to measure that?
>fourth box office bomb in a row
It's over for Sophia
low IQ post
Nah, it's just a little different in terms of structure. I liked it more than French Dispatch and Grand Budapest. All fine movies but they get a little too "Wes Anderson for Wes Anderson sake." I'm conflicted on Rushmore, like everything about it, but I fricking hate Max and he's one of the few film characters I want to see suffer.
Yeah Budapest was the limit for his style. Isle of Dogs was great, but that's because his style lends itself to stop motion and he had only done one animated film before that. French dispatch and so far from what I've heard of this feels like he's a parody of himself. He needs to mix up his approach to live action projects or become a quirky stop motion Miyazaki for a couple of years
This actress has very "friendly" facial features but is not sexually attractive at all in any far above average manner and this obsession with the threads is bizarre. She is pleasant to look at but nothing erotic is there.
not everything has to be erotic
I dont really care that much for her either but
>people have diffferent tastes? :0000
some people are much more into a more "average" cute type of woman rather than a "sexy" woman. how is this always so incomprehensible to some people like as if a smoking bombshell woman with huge boobs showing skin all the time is an automatic 10/10 for everyone
well, maybe she cooks well which is always a plus. She seems to be fine company, pleasant and nice.
well, she has childlike appearance that attracts /tv incels
you have a childlike appearance
Cinemaphile fell in love with her when she appeared in IT (2017).
Does this mean.
A) They're lazy morons who couldn't even finish a Stephen King novel that they're being paid to act out.
B) It's obviously about the sex scene (I never saw the remake so not sure what scenes are missing)
both of the boys were thinking about gang banging soph right when she asked that question
it's obviously about the group orgy. it's the most controversial part of the entire book and the question is obviously asking about it, the actors are obviously reacting to it.
>morons
>for NOT finishing a King novel
Jesus H. Christ
the way he looks at her, like "yeah we did perform it, just not on camera"
It's been confirmed that Sophia is a kissless trad virgin.
she only hangs out with lulu and her brother
is that a bottle of smirnoff?
looks like just a water bottle
that is 100% a handle of vodka.
looks like she has 2 casks of whisky in the corner as well.
Imagine if she stepped all over your dick like that
Unfortunately from what I've heard she fricks with her curly IT pal
r8 my r8tings
1. Rushmore - 8/10
2. Moonrise Kingdom - 8/10
3. The Royal Tenenbaums - 7/10
4. Bottle Rocket - 7/10
5. The Grand Budapest Hotel - 7/10
6. The Darjeeling Limited - 6/10
7. Isle of Dogs - 6/10
8. Fantastic Mr. Fox - 6/10
9. The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou - 5/10
10. Asteroid City - 2/10
11. The French Dispatch - 2/10
The Life Aquatic is one of his best movies, Moonrise Kingdom and Grand Budapest is when I could tell he had far less interest in telling a story than he did in displaying some whimsical art fantasy.
I'd say:
1. Life Aquatic 8/10
2. Royal Tenenbaums 8/10
3. Rushmore 8/10
4. Grand Budapest 6/10
5. Darjeeling 5.5/10
6. Bottle Rocket 5/10
7. Moonrise Kingdom
Rest is slop, I'm not big on the stop motions or their stories, and French Dispatch was a chore to watch
Don't care, going to see it in an hour
Test
Did it work?
How did he get away with it?
no one watched the film
it had a french producer so it's okay.
I actually think that The French Dispatch was even worse. Either way, I think the billionaire pajeet guy who bankrolls Wes Anderson needs to cut him off. He's become a total hack.
I said it once and I'll say it again
FRICK SOPHIA LILLIS
Chance would be a fine thing.
color corrected version out yet?
she has such pretty eyes
is she good in Asteroid City? I might go see it this week but I know it's a small part.
STOP CUTTING YOUR HAIR YOU DUMB HOOOOOOOOOOOO
havent seen it but isle of dogs was horrible
>Asteroid City is Wes Anderson's worst film to date
just watched it and it definitely feels like his most undercooked. A lot of the film felt like shorthand, or like a sparknotes version of the film he actually intended to make. The asian kid was an awful actor, even if they tried to cloak it by making him deliberately hammy and over-the-top. The one REALLY good thing was some of the humor. The sequence of all the kids responding to the Alien appearance was probably the best part of the film, everything from Sophia Lillis' rorschach test to the asian kid's interrogation to Liev Schrieber strangling his son was perfect. Also the scene where Sophia Lillis' ugly mom seethes at Scarlett Johansson was funny as hell too.
Tilda Swinton and the MC's kid should've kissed each other in the tent after she tells him that his life isn't meaningless and that it absolutely is precious, and he tells her that he can see the space ellipses in her eyes. They 100% should've had a tender loving kiss right there, would've made everything feel more complete, even though the kid had a beak bigger than a fricking toucan.
>They 100% should've had a tender loving kiss right there, would've made everything feel more complete, even though the kid had a beak bigger than a fricking toucan.
Couldn't happen, Wes would've written himself in a block because he already established that the kids love interest was the mutt Johansen was carrying around.
Nah certainly not his worst. Also not his best. This is easily better than the royal tenenbaums for example.
>tfw you get replaced by Sophia as the cute girl in the Wes Anderson movies
She cute, who this?
famous irish terrorist
I wish she would terrorise me
Terrorize Sophia's butthole with your tongue
No! she's not my waifu, and i would never do that to my Chad bros who has Sophia as their waifu
Idk if this is a upgrade or not
Also, Sersha is still acting? IIRC the last movie with her was the French Dispatch and that was a couple of years ago
yeah, she's got 3 movies coming out. Foe, The Outrun & Blitz
she legit looks like a man here
I learned from Cinemaphile that every woman is a troony unless proven otherwise
I don't know if the "whimsical self-aware" shtick works anymore in our present-day irony-poisoned world. It's really showing its age, and whereas other directors' shticks have proven timeless (most of tarantula's films are probably the most well-known examples), anderson's style, specifically the self-aware indie-darling "this is a scene where the characters lay out their inner turmoil in an explicit manner but it's okay because they act quirky" shit, just doesn't work anymore.
I liked Asteroid City a lot more than French Dispatch
>Wes Anderson's worst film to date
Why would I care? I'm not interested in dating any of his films.
His gimmick has aged like milk, and is a relic of the 2000's
rushmore holds up well imo
I liked the cinematography, acting and I understood the story within Asteroid city. I didn't understand the fourth wall segments or the overall plot (as there didn't seem to be one unless I'm dumb) All I can gather it was it was about the few interactions between families/characters in Asteroid City with a hint of comedy.
6/10. Didn’t get a feel that Wes cared enough about his characters and past themes — just wanted to jerk off over handsome planimetric frames and woke posing.
Saw it for Maya Hawke (a total babe).
I thought Montana and his gang was underutilized.
>nobody posted the most kino screenshot
the french dispatch is worse
