they should do this again, merge three stories togheter and make make amalgam movie, i know they did it kind of with the "The Secret of the Magic Potion" but the OC donut steal characters will never be seen again so the story felt cynical.
they have enough material, but they just want to make "original stories"
goths in asterix all speak in Gothic font, all britons are stiff upper lip, all Spainards have giant bull horn helmets, Egyptians walk like hyroplyghs, etc etc.
Cinemaphile once did a storytime with an Asterix comic where they meet a manga character. Supposedly it's one of the most hated Asterix comics, but it seemed perfectly okay to me.
i doubt it's the most disliked, i can't stand Asterix in Corsica or the one where he fights aliens, those two stories are actually bad, the latest story is actually pretty fun, he battles a smarmy poet named sanctimonius
I can understand, I love the real Corse so any work there automatically strikes me as comfy for me. I like the idiotic family feuds and the old dudes sitting on the tree or pillar
12 tasks is best, no other come close.
The jokes all works, it don't follow any comics so it's completely free to do whatever and the movie itself directly state this as a joke, the many new characters are all fun and well thought while the well known ones are true to themselves, although underused, and the many things it parodies (french administration of course, horror and pornographic movies which were a big hit at the time, commercials etc..) it do it very well and it still is fun and relevant to this day.
watching this as an italian, do the romans have an italian accent? It's obvious that the brits have a british accent but I'm not sure about the romans
in our dub they all have a roman accent which is hilarious
I'm like Asterix 'cept I never drank a str pot
Sovl

My Portuguese godfather gave me an Asterix board game. I had no idea how to play it.

Who did it better?
been stuck in my head for like two decades now
just here to make Cinemaphile seethe
i love French, Belgian and Italian comics

Patrician right here itt
TIL there are people who dislike French and Belgian comics
Vikings/Gauls/Celts never wore horned helmets.
true but that's not a vikang, gaul or celtic helmet
I thought Anglo-Saxons were Vikings or at least the same genetic stock as Vikings/Gauls/Celts.
>genetic stock
lmao

>posts a picture of a helmet depicting two warriors wearing horned helmets inlaid into it

FORM NUMBER 838!
this part of the movie was boring to me when I was a kid but now it's my favorite.
>tfw you realise Asterix had Permit A 39 the whole time
BRAVO GOSCINNY AND UDERZO
For me it was realising the manager only went insane because he saw a customer getting what they wanted
>Je croie en toujour en moi, ha ha
It’s sexy when women sing French.

Can't argue with that
This is what I was referring to btw

why do you dislike the one in Corse ? It's fun, the one with aliens comes off as an old fart being angry and trendy things
asterix in corsica is just one note joke and i have to look at all the prunefaced people deliver zero jokes for the entire book, i hate it.
i get it, they're STOIC but geez
I can understand, I love the real Corse so any work there automatically strikes me as comfy for me. I like the idiotic family feuds and the old dudes sitting on the tree or pillar
chi g'ha dito all'arembagio
red that with Depardieu's voice
not so fast
i want to go back
Asterix in Britain is the single greatest work of banter ever produced
it also has one of the most kino scenes in the series
for me it was the 12 tasks
